As soon as we step into the big room to begin mingling, Frank walks off on his own. He did not bother to say bye or wave to me, he just left us. Guess that I did not really expect much else from him after his warm welcome. The rest of the pack all stop what they were previously doing to come up and say hello to us.It completely amazes me that everybody in the pack is willing to come up and introduce themselves when they are all this downtrodden. How long is it going to take for the pack to get used to any sense of existence again? They have been stuck down here so long that they most likely do not remember what it is like to be above ground all of the time.We shake hands with werewolves of all ages as they walk by us one by one. Many of them exclaim over how happy their Beta must be to get to know his daughter again. There are quite a few that even say that he must have had to get away to conquer his excitement over seeing me again. It is good to know that they all have this lev
Rand's eyebrows raise when I accidentally let my snort loose. Whoops, I was hoping to hide my feelings on that matter a little better. It was hard to control when my father will not even try to spend time with me. He wants absolutely nothing to do with me and yet he is willing to help all of these orphans. "You seem surprised that he is helping with the orphans. You do know that you were his inspiration for helping them right?" Rand asks carefully."I might have been but now he wants nothing to do with me. He tried to kick me out as soon as we arrived here and he has not exactly been welcoming since." I admit."He will be. I know him pretty well by now. He has wanted to see you every day for as long as I have known him. He told me that he was only on his own for a couple of months before he landed here so almost the entire time since he left he has been thinking of you. It was quite a shock to see you here. Even for me. I am sure that he will come around." He says confidently."I am
The expedition above only consists of 5 others. They all gathered around nervously when Rand announced that I would be going topside with them. Nobody has heard about what happened when we arrived so as far as they know it is still a dangerous expedition. The witches do not know that I am still here so I think that I will keep it that way for now. I can make myself look like another werewolf to see if they try attacking me at all. Or any of the others. I will not sit idly by while they are being attacked. It is something that I will stop no matter what.Only men are going up since they are so worried about the women. I do want to antagonize the witches into attacking though so my disguise is going to be that of a woman even if it is not me. The men all look at me worriedly when they see that I am going with them but Rand assures them that I will be fine. Everybody surrounds me as we make our way up top. I debate on getting on the outside but that is not something that any other fema
"I am sorry to have bothered you again. We will just be leaving now." The witch says to me."Wait, what is your name?" I ask."Why do you ask?" She says worriedly."I want to make sure that if I have to find you later I make it as easy as possible on myself." I sneer. She gulps worriedly before saying, "Au..A...Aurora."Wow, my reputation must be even more fierce than I thought. If she is this scared of me then what all has she heard? From an outsider's standpoint I guess that I might sound scary. I did manage to overcome a lot in a short period of time.I also have to wonder why none of them have mentioned Elle or Morden yet. They had to have made it there by now. If so then I can only assume that these witches have heard talk of them. Their job was to make sure that we could get to the pack easily. Travelling at their speed they should have made it the night that we stayed in the cave. What could have happened to them?"Thank you for telling me your name. I expect that I can trust y
"How exactly am I supposed to believe that you just so happen to be on our side, have defeated all of the witches that have been plaguing us for years now, and have found our lost pack mates? It cannot all be a coincidence. Whether you are actually related to Frank or not, I find it extremely hard to believe that this is all just happenstance. That you just rescued them out of the kindness of your heart and that you want nothing more for doing so. Are you going to use them as leverage? Is that what you are really after?" He shouts at me.I had really been hoping to avoid more of a show than I had already given all of them. I did not want to go into all of this right here. Before we know it, the entire pack is going to know and I will never get any peace. Whether they are all peaceful or out for blood, that is not something that I am ready to determine. I do not want all of them to fear me either. Sadly, there is a good chance that that is going to happen after the display that I just
"You know that you did something nice for them right?" Dante says in my head when he notices my inner turmoil. I do happen to know that I was helping them but it gets old to constantly be considered a threat to somebody that I am trying to help. These poor children in this pack have lost parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles to this war that the witches have started. All over trying to recreate the same scenario that brought me into this world."I would just like to not be treated like an enemy when I am not trying to hurt anybody. All I am trying to do is help. It keeps getting thrown back at me." I admit to him."I know honey. They will all realize it. All of them will realize that you were helping as well as what all you have done. Not only have you made sure that they can feed the entire pack, you have also managed to save the pack members that they have given up on. The ones that they had thought were lost forever. They will appreciate it. Just wait and see." He reassures
Rand has been generous enough to give us enough area to make all of our rooms rather large. Instead of doing two really large bedrooms, I opt to make a more formal sitting area in between two suites. I draw a crowd of onlookers as we draw a plan in the dirt of how we want the rooms to be.Once we get the general outline, I reach out with my awareness and focus on the size and overall shape of the rooms. As I show it my picture, the Earth responds swiftly to make the vision come to life. In a matter of seconds, the entire thing is dug out. It is lacking any type of furniture or even a more focused plan but the bare bones of the rooms are dug out.The audience behind me gasps loudly. Turning, I see them all backing away a little bit as they stare at what would have taken them weeks to do on their own. It is hard to tell if they are impressed, fearful, or both. Rand is watching intently as I continue my work on the rooms. At a much slower pace, I begin to craft sofas and a few end tables
Rand leads me down to where most of the less fortunate families are staying. We are rather close to the orphanage when we stop and he can show me where the problem lies. There is a heap of shovels and picks laying on the ground outside of an opening that is almost too small for a full grown werewolf to get through. Climbing in, I only travel a couple feet down a tunnel before I reach the limestone wall in question. Reaching out with my hand, I send my thoughts through the stone as I try to find out if they can continue the rooms here or not. The limestone goes on for a couple of feet before it runs into a raging underground river. I have never seen one quite this intense before. If they had accidentally dug into this river it could have been deadly. The water could have swept through and filled up many chambers, even claiming lives before they were able to seal it up again. There is still a way to make a room here even though it will not be quite as the others were. Instead of going
