After talking to Morden, I found that I was able to sleep much better. It might not be the best idea to send her somewhere where she could give away some of our secrets. Still, I have to give her the option to prove to me that she is trying to become a better person. Staying in her room is not healthy for her or even for myself.Dante did not rouse at all when I was gone or even when I got back into bed. He must have been tired after the day that we had. It was quite a shock to learn that the pack that my father is in is at war with witches. Then, to try and find a way to get in without anybody realizes who I am is a bit problematic. He tries not to show me but he is worried about me again. With me being pregnant he has been a worried mess. Now that we are planning to go and visit this other pack he is even more nervous. Somehow, I keep finding ways to put myself into danger which is really putting a damper on his mental state. When we wake up I cannot help but smile at him. He looks
The teenagers did, in fact, try to have a party that the patrols were more than happy to put a stop to. Instead of the patrols ousting themselves and making them go back, they instead used their cunning and managed to scare them. They forgot the fact that there are no creatures bigger than us werewolves in the area and managed to allow themselves to get spooked and headed back to their campsites instead. Now, it is the time that I have been both looking forward to and dreading at the same time. It is now time for us to head towards the Luminescense Creek pack. To meet my father. Who is still alive. I am so shocked by the fact that I keep repeating it to myself over and over again. "Are you ready for this?" Dante asks me."As ready as I can be." I reply as we gather with Amora behind the pack house. The entire pack has come out to give us a wonderful fairwell. They are all cheering us on as we get ready to leave. It is a little bittersweet to know that we are leaving them for an unkn
Our break for lunch was not nearly long enough for Amora's liking. I, on the other hand, cannot wait to move forward. I am determined that we are going to be able to camp within a couple of miles of the Luminescence Creek pack by nightfall. I do not want the witches to catch us before the pack is able to see us."We need to get going. I know that you would like some more rest but we need to get going if we are going to make it there on time." Dante says through an open mind like between the three of us."I know. My old age is getting to me during this trip. I will make it though. Of that, I am sure." Amora replies. With that we all take off running once again. We have a little farther to go than we went this morning. It is going to be a long trip. Even I might be tired by the time we make it to our camp site for the night. My exhaustion has finally let up a bit in the last couple of days but I can still feel it hovering, just out of reach.Amora slows down slightly after another hour
The cave that we were pointed to is just roomy enough for us all to be able to lay comfortably inside. There is not much wiggle room but it will keep us all from sitting out in the open commpletely exposed to the elements or to unwanted watchers."What do you think he has heard about us?" I ask Dante with our mind link."Not sure. It could be that we found a new Luna, maybe that we made enemies with the witches. Let's just hope that they have not heard of anything too recent." He answers."Before they come back tomorrow, how are you feeling Laina? We have been running all day and you have not been resting or eating as much as you should." Amora says to me."I am fine. Tomorrow we should be able to get into the pack and fix all of that. I would not mind a nice steak dinner." I tell them."What if they do not come back tomorrow?" Amora asks worriedly."Then we will go to them. I am not going to sit out here forever waiting for them to make up their minds. I say that we still go there fi
After obsessing over what I have going on the following day for a few hours, I finally manage to pass out. My awareness is still stretched out to the max so that I am able to keep an eye on everything, even in my sleep. I only got woken up once when a pack of wild coyotes come into the area. They must have been familiar with werewolves though because as soon as they caught our scent, they steered clear of us. I awoke early enough to see the sun rise in the distance. It is an absolutely gorgeous display of pink and orange. Hopefully, this is a sign that the day is going to go well. Once the sun is fully risen, the moon is still visible in the other side of the sky, The Moon Goddess is definitely keeping an eye on us today. That thought warms me as I begin to move around and wake the other two."What is the game plan for today then?" Dante asks me. "Are we going to wait a while to see if he shows back up or we just going to rush in there?""I think, that being pregnant, I need some nou
"I thought that my head of security asked you to wait until we came for you?" The Alpha says to us sharply. "I am sorry. My mate here is pregnant, she just needs to rest and get some proper nourishment. We planned to wait but she got so uncomfortable that we had to come and talk to you earlier." Dante explains with a gesture to me.I still have not taken my eyes off my father although I have managed to school my expression better. As soon as his eyes meet mine I see a small spark of recognition, although he still does not move towards me. Instead, his eyes narrow slightly as he studies me. At first I thought for sure that he recognized me but now I am not quite so sure."If there is a pregnant Luna then we are obligated to bring you into the pack house. Please, come with us. Do not get left behind. Things here are not as peaceful as they seem." The Alpha says."I am sorry but, what is going on here? I have never seen a pack like this? Where are the kids and the rest of the pack membe
When the Alpha finally comes back, he brings bags of food. There are sandwiches, chips, cashews, and drinks. It looks like he just came back from the store. Where the store is though, I have no idea. He did not actually leave the building as far as I could tell. Then again, I was a little too focused on my father to focus on what the Alpha was doing. "I brought you back what I could find. I would love to offer you a warm meal but I am unable to do it at this time. I am sorry but things are not going well here." The Alpha says."I understand that you are in a difficult spot. As fellow Alpha can you possibly tell me what is going on. Maybe just some of it? I have heard that you have been having problems with the witches. Does it all come from that?" Dante asks concernedly. The other Alpha stares at him for a while deliberating. There has to be more than just the normal witch problem going on with how the entire pack is behaving. Normally packs do not hide just because of a witch proble
My father stares mutely at me for a bit before finally shaking himself out of it. Literally, too. He shakes his head slightly before he is able to say anything."I was really hoping that you would not say that. We can not allow any magic users in this pack. I am afraid that you are going to have to leave after your meal." He says to me sadly. After all of this time, he is going to make me leave. I have been blinded by the fact that as my father he has to still love me. Apparently, that does not mean anything to him as he stares at me in shock and sadness. I guess that even though the same blood runs through our veins, he is just going to kick me out and that will be the end of it."If that is what you want then I guess that is what will have to happen. I came here searching for the father that I remember from my childhood. I guess that guy really did die like I had always assumed until recently. Thank you for making it quick instead of waiting to tell me later. In fact, we will leave
