Even though the Council members were quiet during breakfast, there is no way that it could last all day. I am honestly a little shocked when we finish breakfast and nobody has said a word. What could be keeping them so quiet? I know that they have plenty to say.I do not have to wait long to hear them start bringing up last night though. As I walk out of the dining area, Safiya rushes up to me. "Laina, the Council wishes to speak to you." She tells me simply before walking towards their quarters once again.Does that mean that she considers herself a part of the Council still? It seemed like she was drifiting away from it but maybe they do not have any other options to fill her spot? I believe that she said that only family members can take a role on the Council but there has to be some type of fail safe in case something like this happens. Might as well get this over with I guess. I already proved to them and myself that there is not much they can do to harm me. Thanks to the Moon
Safiya is looking more and more please as I continue on with my tirade. I knew that she did not agree with what she was saying. I am going to have to find out how they made her say those things. She was definitely on my side last night. "This is not how things are going to go anymore. You might run this Coven but we are above all of the Covens. You are going to take this punishment as nobody is above punishment from us. Not even Safiya here." Simonetta says with a smirk. She must be getting some of her snarkiness back finally. Good, I was starting to think that this was going to be a boring meeting. It is no fun when they do not fight back. It was almost too easy."I will agree to your punishments when you can prove that it is something that the Moon Goddess wishes. She is the only authority that I see. The rest of you are just some witches that were born into a role that has lost its way. This Council was not created to lord over all of the witch Covens. It was made to keep them all
I avoid Elle for most of the day after dealing with the Council. I can feel her eyes on me while I work with some of the novices on plans for next weekend's dance. After all of the drama with the Council and Hazel we decided to give it another week. Hopefully, this will help to draw the witches back together after last night's incident. As I gather some of the novices together to begin working on their dance, I notice that they all seem particularly quiet. This group that consists of Jade, Hazel, Blair and Sage are never quiet. They normally joke around non stop and in general act like teenagers. Today, they are all rather quiet but I constantly catch them staring at me. After a while, I finally snap."What is going on with you four today? Normally I cannot get you to shut up but today you will not even talk. What is going on?" I say exasperatedly."I think that they are all rather shocked after last night. You were a little scary." Hazel admits. Each of the other girls nods enthusias
Safiya finally comes walking out of their quarters and stops when she sees me. Is she worried that she will get into more trouble by hanging out with me and the Novices or something? Before she continues this way, Viola walks back out and joins Safiya on her walk over. When they reach my, I raise an eyebrow at Safiya and the fact that she has a babysitter. I knew that they were upset with her and did not trust her after last night but leaving her with a babysitter is just degrading. What do they think that they are accomplishing with all of this? She just gives me an annoyed look as she pulls out her notes for the dance that we are trying to learn. Even though we had not really talked much about which one we are going to do we seem to be on the same page. She looks at my choices of which Novices are going to be moving up and gives a nod of approval. I guess that is as much as I can get from her now.Elle is watching from the doorway into the kitchen as we set the girls up in pairs an
Since we have decided to have some of the Full Witches do the dance with the Novices, it only makes sense that Elle and Rosa joins us for practice this one time. For now, they are under the impression that they are the only ones joining the dance. It will stay that way until the last second. What a surprise it will be for the entire Coven to see me out there dancing with the others. We gather in the foyer again to begin practice. The Novices are much more excited to be learning how to incorporate the dance moves together now. It was not too difficult for them to do the magic part without the dancing as they could give it their full attention but I have no idea how well they are going to do now.As the take their first steps, it takes a little longer than it should for the flowers to begin growing in the correct pattern. Once they finally do, they switch directions and begin to let their water magic flow out of them. Almost immediately, the water begins to saturate the flowers under t
All week long the girls work on their dance every day for a couple of hours before dinner. By Friday they have it almost all of the way down. We are just going to have to hope for the best on Sunday when we do it in front of everyone. There have been no more major explosions since the second day of our practices so I will take that as a hopeful sign.Tonight, I am going to try to go to the pack dinner once again. Hopefully this time the Council does not try anything while I am gone. Even though I feel leary about going I cannot stop being Luna just because I am worried about what the Council might or might not do. Presumably, Safiya is not going to be joining me this time after what happened last week. She has been on a tight leash with the Council ever since she stood up to them a week ago. I am still looking forward to this time with the pack. Even if I am extremely nervous about what all could go wrong while I am there."You are running late." Dante tells me in my head."I know. I
Looking out across the faces of the pack members, I find myself smiling at them all. It sure does feel good to be home again. Both places are my home but each one represents a different part of me. Even though I am exploring my witch half more and more, this part has always come much more naturally to me."I hear you guys had quite the scare last week." I yell to them. When they all nod and chuckle at me I continue, "Well, I think that maybe I should show all of you what happened. This is what will happen to anybody that thinks they can mess with any of you, witch or werewolf!"They all cheer as I begin my own illusion. Thinking back on that night, I start with my run towards the witch house. They can see me run at a speed that should be impossible to all species. When I go crashing into the house, they all gasp at the following few minutes.Showing no fear, I barrel into the foyer just to run into the first Council member, Katrin. When I make her back down and walk into their living
The pack dinner went amazingly. It took most of the night before I felt like I could fully relax but it was well worth it to sit with my pack the entire night. I got a chance to catch up with Amora and the happenings in the pack. I made yet another promise to go and see Scarlett and Ulfred. I even got a chance to dance to a couple of songs with my wonderful mate. Overall, I could not be more pleased with how the night went.I did end up heading back to the witch house for the night after we were done with the dinner. Dante more than happily followed me back to spend some more time with me. Elle had since retired my illusion for the night so I had no problems getting back without being noticed. It seems as if everything went well for a change."Sunday is the big day for you witches then?" Dante asks after we finally tire ourselves out."Yes it is. I am so excited for the girls." I gush to him."Are you worried about another explosion. That last one was pretty bad." He points out oh so
