It takes far too long to get Hazel to calm down enough to talk to me coherently. She cries silently for a when I tried to talk to her. Eventually, I am able to talk to her without her crying or breaking down right away. Seeing her like this makes me angry. To destroy someone's spirit this way is beyond wrong. There is no reason to do this to anybody.

"Hazel, hun, what happened? I don't like seeing you this way. I am so sorry I was not here when they decided to go on the attack. They were bound to do it eventually, they just needed a reason. They were not supposed to hurt you though. They were supposed to come after me. Only me." I tell her while rubbing her back.

I am so upset by the situation that I am almost in tears myself. Not sad tears but angry tears. It really irks me that they would be willing to hurt an innocent, young witch just to get back at me. Not all of them were against me but not a single one tried to stop what was happening until Safiya finally snapped.
