As I begin running down the side of the mountain to intercept the witches I rip off the glamour that Elle had placed on me before leaving the cottage. As the witches turn towards me their eyes widen a little in surprise. Pretty soon it will be in fear as well. They are not going to mess with my pack.
I skid to a stop with the witches sandwiched between us and the wolves. They have nowhere to go right now without having to fight on both sides to get out. They are trapped with a running river on one side, a pack of wolves on another side, the mountain on the third side and me and my grandmother behind them.
When they see Elle running behind me their eyes widen even farther in shock. According to Rosa, nobody has seen her since the attack on my family so they must not have expected to see her out here today. Shifting into my human form, I plant my hands on my hips in all my naked glory and look down at them.

We do not make it back to the packhouse until night time so I take Elle to one of our spare rooms before we head to bed. I expect to fall into an instant sleep after the long day of fighting and travelling but after one look at Dante as he stares at me intently and I know that that is not going to happen for a few hours.I look over my shoulder at him as I head into the bathroom leaving a trail of clothes in my wake. "So where am I staying if the room here is not where you planned? I would rather not be hidden away. If I am to stay here then I do not want to be hidden away. We leave Elle for the rest of the afternoon to settle into her new house. Meanwhile, on our way back to the pack house to set up for the pack dinner later tonight, I am going to stop by and see my cousin. She seemed so excited to see me earlier that I felt bad not having time to stop by and say hi.As we approach her house, I see her still toiling away in the garden. I chuckle a little bit as I watch her sweat while working in the garden. It looks like hard work doing it this way. Maybe I should offer to help her out some?"Hey, do you need help with your garden? Baking cookies with Scarlett definitely helped me to come back to my reality. I have been all witch for a while now so the simple act of baking cookies with a friend helps to ground me into remembering that I am both witch and werewolf. It feels weird to think that being a witch is starting to feel normal to me now but as I learn more about the craft, the more I feel like I am finding another part of myself. A part that I did not know I was missing in the first place.Scarlett is the perfect person to help center me too. She does not want to rip my clothes off the second that she sees me. It really helps me to feel a little more normal when I am not being mauled by an Alpha every hour. I am more than happy to be attacked by him but sometimes I need a friend that is a female as well. Now that we had gotten our little foray out of the way, it is time to actually get ready for the pack dinner tonight. The entire pack should be showing up now that I am back and Dante has warned everybody that we have an announcement to make tonight. Some of the pack members might be upset that we are going to have a witch living with us considering that we are currently going to battle with other witches but this might help us even out the playing field a little bit.Scarlett arrives early looking for Quin again. She apparently has not seen him at all since he left this morning for his scouting duties. She does not seem worried about him but I am a little worried about him and how this is going to affect her and the baby. They need him around so he is going to have to figure out what is going on with him so that he can be there for the baby."Have you seen Quin at all today?" After a brief, yet awkward pause the pack slowly begins to clap for Elle. She does not seem upset about the lack of enthusiasm and just inclines her head slightly to everybody. The clapping tapers off rather quickly and everybody looks towards Dante as if they are expecting more news."Well, our Luna is finally back so let's celebrate her return. Please, take the time to get to know Elle before you judge her. Remember that your own Luna is half witch so just because Elle is a witch does not mean that she is going to be like some of the others that you have met. Keep an open mind and let's celebrate the small victories." He says as if we had already earned our peace from the other witches.The crowd disperses and starts to converse in hushed tones. When the movie reaches about the halfway point, I see Scarlett slowly dozing off on the couch. I take her plate away and cover her up with a small blanket. She can rest here as long as she needs while we figure out what is going on with her mate.Walking outside, I spy Dante talking to Quin on the side of the house where nobody else is at. I head in that direction to see if I can help at any way. Quin is looking at his shoes rather ashamed as Dante lectures him. After Scarlett and Quin leave I find that I am no longer in the mood to celebrate as much as I was before then. Instead, I leave to find Elle. I can only assume that she went back to her house since nobody was exactly welcoming to her here.When I go to head towards her house the earth begins to pull me in a different direction. It is willing me to go into the woods instead. The earth has never led me wrong before so I am assuming that I should follow where it points me.Walking through the woods, I feel at peace with my surroundings. I have not walked through the woods at night and alone in months. I forgot how peaceful and quiet it is. Something or someone has walked through recently though judging by how quiet even the nocturnal animals are.Connecting to the earth, I continue to follow its lead until I find myself standing outside of my old den.
