As Rufus stepped out of the chapel, he could hear the voices outside growing louder.

"Is that a green hood with Nightfall pack symbols?"

"That’s definitely the Alpha under that hood."

"Could it really be him?"

"It’s him, alright. Hiding behind that hood shows just how weak you are; you can’t lead us anymore."

"We don’t want an Alpha who hides behind a hood."

"Don’t assume the throne is yours just because your father was an Alpha."

"We don’t want you; it’s time for you to step down."

Rufus tightened his grip, choosing to ignore the small crowd as he made his way to the King’s quarters, a place untouched by the Alpha's presence.

With a loud bang, he slammed the door behind him.

Upon entering, he hurled his sword onto the table, the impact echoing through the room.

Davies, who had just walked in, barely dodged the flying sword.

Unfazed, he picked it up, walked over calmly, and placed it back on the table.

Rufus, fists clenched, suddenly raised his sword and brought it down
