I LOOKED AT the kin- Corey uncertainly. The wheels in my brain were turning furiously, my brows furrowed in confusion. 

Are we suddenly supposed to accept that?

To believe that there were actually goddesses and one of them was supposedly our mother?

That she was so weak that she had to leave us suffering for six years after the death of Mrs hale?

That she did it for our protection?

"How were we brought to earth? How did Mrs Hale find us?" I asked suddenly curious to know more about my past. "Were we taken to earth immediately after our birth? And by whom ?"

I watched Corey release a long sigh of what I assume to be frustration. My sister is equally perplexed as I am ever since we were attacked with that information. Heck yes, we were literally caught off guard with this revelation.

"I do not know any Mrs hale but I do know you were sent to earth with a royal guardian. A ruckel to be precise. And no, you were sent to earth at the age of four with the most powerful ruckel in the three realms which is probably the Mrs hale you speak of"

"But Mrs hale died six years ago! Why didn't she tell us anything about this realm and our mother? Why were we left unguarded for six whole years and why don't we remember anything from these realms? Not even what our mother looks like. This just doesn't make sense!" My sister seethed

"I understand, but you have to understand that this was all for your protection. She couldn't risk you knowing things and risking your existence. It was discovered when you were just four years old that there are some ugly looking creatures called lissers. These things can search your memories, find out secrets about you without you knowing except you're very skilled in understanding the flow of magic within and without hence the reason why your mother had to lock your memories. There were a series of attack directed at the royal kingdom to kill your already weak mother and the young children who couldn't even control their powers. You were taken to earth for your protection."

"And what about Mrs Hale?" I asked timidly 

"Ruckels are hard to kill because of their resurrection power. I believe she was still watching over you these past years and was ordered by Escalia to monitor how you two would cope by yourselves. Earthly diseases do not affect beings like us. If I am not mistaken, I remember a dark haired woman hovering around you two the day i took you-"

"You mean kidnapped" my sister corrected slyly.

"I do not kidnap!" Corey bellowed " But as I was saying, I believe she was aware of my mission there and permitted me to take you"

This brought great relief to me as my brain brought out the memory of a tall woman with a mop of black hair and purple eyes. She always had a strong stance and authoritative voice. I now understood why.

"I will give you some books to read to futher understand things about this realm. After which, we will venture to the third realm Escalia rules: The fairy kingdom. Here, you will learn a lot of things about your powers. Next we will go to the vampire empire which is a realm ruled by the moon goddess Erika sister to Escalia."

To this, none of us asked futher questions about the realms. Although , I couldn't deny my eagerness to read about these realms.

"Such clothes are not fit for royalty such as yourselves" Corey went futher to criticise our dress sense and I felt insulted.

"Shut up dummy. We're from florida, what do you expect?"

He simply glared at my sister before resuming his stoic, serious expression. Really the only facial expressions I've seen on his overly handsome face are

Anger

Disapproval 

Anger

Anger again

And guess what? More anger 

And I'm serious.

"How do you know all these things about us?" I asked 

"I owe my loyalty to the sun goddess"

"You know that doesn't actually answer the question right?" 

"I don't care. You shouldn't either. Now, what is this information you wanted to tell me about?"

"Loosen up" Kellyn said 

"Well if that is all, I would appreciate it if you-" 

"Someone is planning to ambush and kill you tonight " I said with a sigh

Corey released a deep throaty laugh with dark sarcasm dripping off every octave.

"Ambush me? Kill me?. That's impossible. I was not made king for nothing. Everyone knows I am no weakling"

"Well that is nice but you should've just told us that. The laugh was quite creepy and I was beginning to think we were part of some horror movie here. Anyway,do you want to know about their plans or keep bragging about how strong you are?" I cocked an eyebrow at him.

Oh God I hope I'm doing this expression right. I certainly don't want to look like a drunkard.

However, my sister's muffled laughter and the weird look the king shot at me made me stick with just leaving my eyebrows straight. 

Darn it!

"Let me hear it"

I told him everything I had heard earlier while he nodded his head thoughtfully throughout my explaining session. When i was done, he lifted his green eyes to me before saying;

"You shouldn't eavesdrop on people" He said cooly after I blabbed my mouth off. For him. Ungrateful little chipmunk.

"Are you kidding me?!" I gasped, glared and gasped again. This guy is unnerving.

I saw a flicker of amusement in his eyes. Oh he's just teasing me?

"Alright. It's obvious you don't appreciate my sister's astounding talent of eavesdropping on people. She just saved your life though and that deserves a thank you"

Did I forget to mention I tend to listen in on people's conversations a lot? But in my defence, I forecast the weather! Its not a reasonable excuse but you have no choice but to accept that. For now. Until I find a better excuse.

"She didn't save anyone's life. I could easily take them on. I know who they are"

"You do?" I asked 

"I just said that didn't I?"

"Go back to your rooms. Cal is outside the door to lead you back. I have placed guards outside your room. If you are in need of anything, all you have to do is ask them and if any of them show disrespect to any of you in any way at all, report to me. Your books have also been taken to your room a few minutes ago. We will be organising a ceremony to celebrate the birth of the realms a week from now. I have informed a tailor to take down your measurements before that day. You will also be presented with a variety of shoes and expensive jewelries to pick from before the day of the ceremony. That is all. You are dismissed"

I looked at him in awe. He seemed so responsible and in control of everything. I was greatly fascinated. Being a king must be a lot to handle.

My sister pulled me up and dragged me out of the office.

"Hey shit face, take us to our room" Kellyn yelled at cal. She was always a big meanie but this was way to mean.

"You should learn about the term respect" cal replied angrily.

The both of them were hot headed. It was quite uncomfortable staying around these two.

"Oh do you want me to tell Corey you're disrespecting me?" She threatened 

"You wouldn't dare. Besides he wouldn't believe you. We all know how unpleasant you can get." Cal smirked triumphantly 

"You didn't think so when you were all over me" 

"Oh so that's what this is about. You want more of me baby?"

"Why did you touch me in the first place? You should've done what Corey did with kira"

"Oh she has a name!" Cal said sounding surprised as he glanced at my awkward self standing by the beige painted wall.

"Not the point"

"Well I am a man and you came to me first" He smirked again at a glaring Kellyn.

"This way" He said before turning around and walking away. Like before, we didn't need to be told twice. 

When we got to the room, we noticed it now looked neater, the bedspread was arranged and the windows were opened giving the room a more homey feel. To the right stood a maid, average height and slim figure.

"I am at your service miss kira and miss kellyn" she curtsied and I almost laughed. Looking carefully at the woman, I realized this wasn't just any maid but it was the maid. The one i knocked out. How was she up and about so soon. Regret filled me as I walked over to where she stood, head bowed.

Kellyn looked back and forth between us before shaking her head and entering the bathroom.

"I am so sorry for what I did. I shouldn't have but you have to understand-"

Rich motherly laughter rang in my ears as the maid looked at me, straight in the eyes. The corners of her eyes her held beautiful lines. Her eyes, those eyes didn't look ordinary. They were pure gold wuth specs of silver around it. They held no anger or malice.

"I understand child. I would expect nothing less" The way she talked, filled with love and understanding. It felt familiar.

Despite her weak looking figure, she looked strong like she had been through a lot, young like she was much younger than her form. 

"See you later" She said and just in front of my eyes, she vanished.

What?

"What happened?" Kellyn asked stepping out of the bathroom in just a bathrobe

"I-the- gold- um- just vanished!"

"Hmmm-mm" My sister responded absent mindedly leaving me to my hard to explain situation.

Suddenly the ground was rushing towards me and i heard the faint sound of my sister calling my name.

Oh crap! I'm fainting aren't I?

I wasn't caught by anybody unfortunately because I felt my body colliding with the floor before slipping away into blackness.
