Chapter Three

Did you just say you're pregnant?”. Ryan asked in disbelief.

Irritated, Valerie replied. “ Yes Ryan I'm three months gone already. I wanted to tell you on our anniversary night but that did not go well, I still tried to tell you the next day but you would not let me talk so yeah…. It's real, we have a baby coming” Valerie beamed.

But Ryan did not leap for joy or scream out loud or even twirl her around in the air as she had expected instead what he said next shocked her to the core.

“It's not possible, you can't be pregnant because I always use protection”. Ryan said.

Valerie was already struggling to hold back the tears from rushing out.

“Well it happened the night you got back from your office dinner and we did not use protection so this is the result “. She defended but Ryan slammed the glass he was holding on the counter.

“I'm not the father of that thing you are carrying”. He said unapologetically.

“How can you even say such a thing to me, after everything I've taken from you this is the height of it, you can insult me or call me names and I'll take it without a word but you won't question my integrity I have always been faithful even though I can't say the same for you”.Valerie said.

Seeing that Ryan wasn't saying anything, she continued. “This baby is yours whether you like it or not so start getting used to it the doctor said it is a high-risk pregnancy so my stress levels should not go up and I should take very good care of myself and the baby”. Valerie finished.

Ryan, upon digesting all that Valerie had said, replied. “It's your pregnancy so you do whatever you want with it, that is not my problem “. And he walked out.

Valerie leaned on the counter and let the tears flow, even if Ryan hated her did he really hate his own child? That was. Very low even for him she knew she wasn't supposed to be getting unnecessarily worried for the safety of her baby so she cleaned her tears and went up to sleep.

Over the next few months , Valerie began to keep to herself more, the helps were back so she didn't have to cook even though Ryan barely ate at home. She maintained a strict diet, exercised daily, and even took long walks in the evening to keep herself as healthy as possible. Ryan didn't show any form of concern about the pregnancy or about Valerie's health.

He began staying out more often, coming home drunk or scolding her for the littlest of things. But Valerie didn't mind, her baby was coming so she did not let Ryan's nasty attitude get to her. She began buying baby things, setting up the nursery and reading books about pregnancy.

Ryan increased her allowance and she was grateful and had hope that things might get better between them.

The next day in the evening, Valerie was in the living room reading a book on pregnancy when Ryan came home but he wasn't alone, there was a lady with him. She was slender but very busty with a blunt blonde cut and blue eyes, she was wearing a blue chiffon blouse with the top four buttons opened and her whole cleavage was outside and a very short skirt with 4inch heels, her lips were painted a very bright red and her lashes looked like they could make her fly at any minute

Overall, to Valerie, she looked like those office secretaries who were only corporate prostitutes and were after rich men and she did not like her.

Ryan ushered the lady in and introduced her to Valerie as his business partner.

“This is Susan, my business partner, I brought her over because there is a project we are working on so we will be in my office, please have one of the maids bring refreshments for us and I do not under any circumstances want to be disturbed, ill be working”. Ryan said and made his way to the staircase when Valerie stopped them.

“Susan……. That name sounds very familiar, hm oh right. Susan the one you went to that resort with right?”. Valerie asked.

Annoyed, Ryan replied. “ yes, she is the one, is there a problem?”. Ryan asked.

“ Not at all, welcome to my home susan”, Valerie said.

“Thank you Valerie, its a pleasure to finally meet you “. Susan said and smiled, but that smile didn't reach her eyes.

Ryan spoke up.” we will be heading upstairs now”. And he led Susan up the stairs to his home office.

When Valerie got tired of reading, she went upstairs. While passing Ryan's room she heard noises coming from inside and out of curiosity she got closer. She could hear loud moans coming from the room using her hand to cover her mouth she was stifling her tears.

She could hear Ryan grunting and Susan moaning very loudly

So this was the business trip and the important project he had to work on. She then ran to her room to cry herself to sleep.

Later that night, Valerie woke up to get a drink from the kitchen and coincidentally bumped into Susan also going down the stairs. She was wearing nothing but ryans T-shirt . Valerie tried to ignore her and go down the stairs but Susan stopped her.

“Mrs Hawkins I hope I wasn't too loud”. Susan said mischievously.

Valerie ignored her.

Susan wanting to get a reaction from Valerie continued. “ your eyes are all puffed up, aww were you crying?. I couldn't help it you know, Ryan sure does know how to put that big cock of his to good use”. And then Valerie slapped her.

Susan was going to slap her back but Valerie held her hand, dropped it, and was about to walk away but Susan blocked her again. “You lucky you are pregnant if not I would have taught you a bitter lesson”. Susan snickered.

Valerie was already distraught, Ryan had even brought his mistress home to abuse her.

But she had to think of her baby, so she made to go back to her room, she was no longer interested in getting the drink anymore when Susan pushed her down the stairs.

“Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”. Valerie screamed.

Her scream woke Ryan up from sleep he rushed out to see what was happening and saw Valerie at the foot of the stairs screaming for help.

“What the hell happened here”. Ryan asked, clearly confused.

Susan also threw herself on the floor and began to scream as well. “ Ryan I was just on my way to get a drink when your crazy wife stopped me and started attacking me. She said I was trying to snatch her husband from her and even scratched me, just look”.Susan said and showed Ryan claw marks she have herself on her neck.

Meanwhile Valerie was seriously groaning in pain. “ Ryan this witch is lying, she pushed me down the stairs when I……..aaahhhhhhhh I'm in so much pain, I need to go to the hospital right now”. She begged.

But Susan was quick to chip in. “ Ryan I think I'm dizzy”. And then she faked fainting.

Valerie could already see blood flowing from inside her as she begged Ryan to call an ambulance so she could go to the hospital but instead Ryan ignored Valerie and picked Susan up do he could take her to the hospital leaving Valerie almost lifeless on the floor.

“ Ryan please, don't do this. My baby…..our baby's life is in danger I beg you. Don't do this to me”. Valerie cried as she reached out for Ryan,

But Ryan crossed over her with Susan and left Valerie in a pool of her own blood.

After Ryan had left with Susan Valerie was on her own and almost gave up when she remembered she had to save her baby. Determined to get help she crawled up the stairs till she got to her room. Struggling, she reached for her phone and dialed her best friend Layla. Praying that by some miracle Layla would be awake by that time of the night. She picked on the third ring.

“ Hello Val, what…..”. She started. But Valerie was already losing consciousness.

“ Help me………….”. And the line went dead.
