WHO ASKED YOU TO POISON ME

It was strange, waking up to a room that was entirely pink, Erada's brows knitted in confusion until she finally remembered yesterday's events and the strong feeling of hatred resurfaced.

" Eldest miss.. you're awake, good morning" Viola said wearily

" What happened last night" Erada questioned, she had the feeling that someone slept next to her during the night.

" Err..um.. you had a nightmare so the mistress came to sleep next to you, you punched her in the chest and she didn't leave, she left an hour ago, she seemed to suspect something because I wasn't sleeping next to you the way I alway....

Erada's piercing gaze made Viola falter on her words

" And why didn't you sleep next to me " Erada questioned icily

" I ..I didn't want to annoy you"

" From now on you must sleep next to me, remember what I told you, if you hide anything from me then your eldest miss dies"

Viola shuddered before nodding hastily, for a fleeting moment, it was almost as if the mistress had been the one questioning her, her voice, glare and mannerisms were just like the mistress, Viola shook off her wild thoughts immediately, she must be getting delusional, how could an imposter have any similarities with the mistress.

" I remember, I won't make such mistake next time"

It made Erada uncomfortable, the fact that Rivera had slept beside her but this was not the time to dwell on emotions, the first thing she wanted to do was to find the three men that had brutally tortured her and mother, she was sure the men would be lurking around this house somewhere.

" How can I assemble all the guards protecting the Kingston family" Erada inquired

Viola saw the devious glint in Erada's eyes, this girl was more scary than she thought, what does she intend to do with the guards, was she planning to launch an attack.

" I'm afraid it isn't possible, only the master, mistress and the eldest Master can summon the family guards, the eldest miss have always been weak so she doesn't have the authority to summon any guards apart from the few ones assigned to protect her, in the Kingston family, everything is ranked based on strength and the eldest miss is ranked lowest in the family " Viola said truthfully, she had promised that she wouldn't hide anything from her and even if she was going to cause chaos in the Kingston family, she would do it to save her eldest miss.

" So you mean, if I can show my strength, I would have the opportunity to summon the guards?"

Viola nodded " yes, there's an evaluation held every year in the arena, all the heirs and heiresses would participate, during the competition, every individual is ranked by the number of opponents they can defeat, the eldest miss have always ranked the lowest" Viola didn't add the fact that the eldest miss would end up fainting in the arena.

" When is the competition going to be held?"

" In two weeks time"

Erada didn't plan on staying long on her mission but to summon all the guards, she had to have the power to do so, she could only wait for the competition,in two weeks time, the three men would encounter a fate worse than death, she would start with them before dealing with the mastermind behind her mother's death, Rivera Kingston.

" Eldest miss, I've made your breakfast, the mistress also asked me to give you lots of fruits"

Erada stared at the maid as she dropped the food, it was plain rice with lots of vegetables, a huge slice of chocolate cake and several diced fruits, it must have taken a lot of effort to carefully remove the seeds from the fruit, but it was something else that caught her attention, a strange fragrance, it was so faint that she wouldn't have detected it if it wasn't for her heightened sense of smell.

The maid was about to leave when Erada grabbed her hands all of a sudden, she let out a shriek and Viola too was surprised, why did she want to hurt the innocent maid.

" Eldest m.miss, w.what did I do wrong"

Erada didn't answer, instead she gave the maid a resounding slap, her palm imprints was imprinted on the maid's left cheek.

Viola couldn't stand it anymore " eldest miss, Agnes has been in charge of your meals for years, if she has done anything to upset you, please forgive her" Viola seemed to be pleading for Agnes but she was also trying to tell Erada that Agnes was Olivia's cook, she couldn't hurt her without any solid reason.

" Eldest miss, I don't know what I did wrong, can you please tell me why you slapped me just now" Agnes mumbled with tears, she was sure she looked very pitiful, kneeling in front of the eldest miss with her swollen left cheek.

Erada delivered another slap to the girl's right cheek, then she smiled " now your face is even"

By now, Agnes could no longer control her tears and Viola felt pity for her, Erada's next words however rendered her speechless.

" Who asked you to poison my food!"

" What! Poison!!" Viola spat out.

Agnes shook her head immediately, no matter what she must never admit it, instead she continued to cry " eldest miss.. how can you accuse me of poisoning you, I've been by your side for years and I can eat the food just to prove my innocence" Agnes was sure nothing would happen to her if she ate the food, it would only weaken her a little, but she was puzzled, how did the eldest miss figure out that she had spiked the food when she had been feeding her with it for years.

A devious glint appeared in Erada's eyes, since the maid chose death, then she would grant her wish, the poison on the food was very mild, it doesn't kill people instantly and would only weaken the body gradually, the scariest part was that it was undetectable, one would appear healthy on the surface while it slowly took one's strength away until one finally drops dead, only strong people could endure this poison and this scum had been feeding the eldest miss with it for years, it was no wonder that the eldest miss was a weakling, faced with poison like this, even she herself would become a weakling, no one noticed as Erada spilled a few white substance on the food, since this maid has tried to deal with her using poison, then she would show her who was boss in terms of poison.

" Who asked you to poison me?" her voice was calm and relaxed.

What drove fear into Agnes's heart was the icy coldness in her honey colored eyes, there was no warmth in her gaze but even as terrified as she was, she couldn't admit it.

" Eldest miss, you must be terrified after your encounter with the undead yesterday, you're thinking too much into it, everyone knows that the undead are very terrifying so I understand how you feel, but the truth is I would never poison you, don't you trust me eldest miss?"

Erada's eyes turned colder as she mentioned the undead, and Agnes almost lost her balance.

" You've made me lose my patience"

An horrifying shriek tore out from Agnes's mouth, a knife was lodged into her wrist and Erada continued to twist the knife further, not minding that her blood was spilling onto the plush pink carpet, dyeing it red.

" Aaaaargh" Agnes shrieked, she had never felt pain as excruciating as this before.

" Don't worry, I'll be fair, I'll do the other hand too, I always love equity" Erada said with a smile

When did the eldest miss become so demonic, the pain was driving her crazy, she couldn't stand it anymore, no matter how scary the eldest Master was, this eldest miss was worse, if she stuck the knife into her second wrist then she would lose both arms.

" I'll confess, it's the eldest M.master aaaaargh.. he he.. . assured me.. that no one will find out..aaaaargh.. please spare me eldest Miss"

Viola's eyes were threatening to pop out of thier sockets, they had all been fooled by Agnes's innocent face all these years not knowing that she was a viper in disguise, to think that she had been feeling pity for her earlier, how could she have been so stupid, the eldest Master was even more terrifying than she had thought, how could he try to poison his own sister.

Erada huffed, were the maids in the Kingston's mansion so weak, she had barely st*bbed her arm and she had confessed easily, they were nothing like the strong opponents that she had encountered, she wasn't surprised that the eldest Master was behind it, immediately she detected the poison, she had suspected him.

Erada left the knife in the maid's arm

" come with me, all you have to do is eat this food in front of everyone"

Agnes couldn't believe her luck, she had thought the eldest miss was smart but at last, she was still a fool, even if she ate the food in front of everyone, nothing would happen to her and she could easily deny all the words she had spoken, no one would blame her instead they would blame the eldest miss for tormenting a poor maid, Agnes ignored the burning pain in her hand and stood up, following the eldest miss behind as Viola carried the tray of food.

" What! How dare you poison my sister, are you tired of living!" Royal thundered darkly, his eyes turning murderous at the sight of Agnes. Vince and Rivera also looked shocked, while the maids couldn't stop stumbling over themselves in order to witness everything

He was such a great actor and Erada wished he could just pursue a career in acting.

" Eldest Master.. please believe me..I didn't poison the eldest miss"

As expected, Agnes denied everything as soon as she was faced with everyone.

" Master, I can eat the food to prove my innocence, the eldest miss framed me, I am innocent, I know it's not the eldest miss fault and I do not blame her, all of this was caused by the undead, they are the one's that made our eldest miss so paranoid" Agnes sobbed pitifully.

After hearing that, the master and Mistress were faced with doubt, did Olivia really implicate a poor maid?, Looking at Agnes's tear streaked face and the knife that was lodged into her hand, it was so easy to feel pity for her, Rivera recalled the way Olivia had flinched at her touch yesterday, was Olivia really getting paranoid.

" Olivia are you really sure she poisoned you" Rivera said gently.

" Mother, don't you trust me, we'll know whether she poisoned me or not after she eats the food" Erada replied calmly

Royal had been terrified after seeing Agnes's bloody hand, after Mark and Lily had been killed by the undead, Agnes was the only pawn he had left, he was afraid she would reveal the truth and implicate him but after listening to Olivia's words, he realized that he was worried for nothing, Agnes would be alright after eating the food and it would prove that Olivia was delusional, perhaps he would even suggest that she gets locked up in a mental asylum.

Agnes confidently took a spoonful of the rice, everyone watched her as she finished the whole meal, she didn't feel any discomfort at all

" Master, mistress, eldest Master, I have proven my innocence" she said calmly before an agonized shriek tore out from her mouth, it felt as if something was gnawing at her intestines and her whole body was hurting, she rolled in pain on the ground, shrieking in pain,she didn't understand, how did the poison have such an effect,the doubtful look on everyone's faces instantly turned to rage.

" You wench! How dare you poison my daughter, I'll make you suffer till you beg for death"

" How dare you try to kill my sister, you ugly thing!!!"

Royal immediately pounced on the girl, thrusting a dagger into her neck, silencing her forever,Agnes stared at the devilish eldest Master, he was the one that ordered her to do it and he was the one that ended her life, even as she took her final breath, her eyes were wide open in disbelief.

" Mother! Father, I'm sorry I couldn't control myself after knowing that she had been planning to kill my sister"

Viola didn't understand why Erada didn't expose the eldest Master on the spot, she was about to say something when Erada shot her a glare and she swallowed back the words.

" It's okay Royal, but you shouldn't have killed her, she could have been a spy sent by one of our enemies to poison us all" Rivera said gently, she didn't think too much into it that Royal would angrily kill the maid, it was probably due to the love he had for his sister.

Royal struggled so hard to maintain his facade, why was everything not going according to his plans, he didn't understand how the poison suddenly reacted like that, Mark and Lily were dead and now Agnes was dead too.

" Don't worry mother, I'll monitor all the maids from now on and fish out the remaining spies among them"

" Olivia, I'm so sorry for doubting you earlier" Rivera apologized

" It's alright mother, please can I get something else to eat"

" Sure, I'll ask my personal maid to make something for you, guards! Drag this scum's body out of here and feed it to the dogs, any one who plots against the Kingston family would end up like her"

" Eldest miss, why didn't you expose the eldest Master earlier, it was such a perfect way to get revenge for everything he has done for you" Viola asked as soon as they were indoors

" Do you really think the master and mistress would disown that scum after finding out that he tried to poison me?"

Viola didn't understand, if it was her, she would disown such evil child already.

" There are a lot of things you don't know Viola and it's best if you don't ask too much questions" Erada said, Rivera had tried to end her life at birth just to replace her with Royal and if she was asked to choose between her heir and a weakling like Olivia, she knew what that woman would choose, she brought out her phone and gave Venom a call.

" The eldest miss is suffering from poisóning, you'll find some medicines in my drawer, it's for detoxifying poison, let her take it twice a day and she'll be fine after two weeks"

Viola almost kissed Erada but controlled her impulse at the last minute" thank you so much for saving my eldest miss"

Erada frowned " I'm not doing it for your eldest miss" she said coldly.

" Oh no! I almost forgot, eldest miss, you have a ..a..a d..d.date tonight!" Viola mumbled

Erada flinched

A date!
