Chapter three

  Bloom 

*Flashback*

             "Mummy what are you doing?"I ask while holding my teddy bear tightly .

                       "We are going on a road trip honey ,"

                  Something told me that this was not just a road trip . Because the way my mum packed my clothes and her clothes in a hurry worried me .She pulled all my clothes from the hanger and folded them quickly and zipped up my suitcase.

                                "Is daddy coming too ?"I asked scared .

                        "No he is not honey ,its just you and me ,"she replied kneeling down and looking at me squarely in the eye with black glasses on

                           "But I want him to come mummy ,"I pleaded.

                            " On the next road trip okay honey,"She assured me while removing her glasses

        She had a purple eye and some scratches on her forehead. My heart dropped because Mummy always had marks and bruises Everytime they would argue .She would always tell me to go to my room or hide In my closet and close my ears .

        Suddenly the door banged downstairs signalling my dad's arrival ,I could smell from a mile away that he was drank .He always had a strong scent of alcohol on him .It was scary because he was always angry with mum at every little thing and they would always argue .The banging startled us both.

                                    "Hide my little monkey,"

                   I quickly crawled under the bed with the help of my mum .I could hear my dad stomping as he approached my room.

                                "Lydia!"he shouted.

                " Derrick,"she answered sweetly

My daddy kicked the door wide open and I could tell from his footsteps that he was heavily drunk.

                        "Where's my dinner ? "He slurred.

                                    "I'm going to cook,"she answered slowly. I could see her feet trying to leave quickly but my dad put his left foot forward.

                          "Where do you think you are going?" He asked.

                       "You said you wanted dinner don't you?"

    There was some deathly silence after that.His feet moved towards the bed .I was scared that he might look down and check for me there .I was so scared as a little tear dropped from my left eye. I squeezed my eyes shut but nothing happened .I held onto my teddy bear tightly as i kept quiet.

                          "Lydia what the fuck is this?!"he roared.

                           "Answer me Lydia !"

        I could only hear silence and my mother's laboured breathing.

                        "So now you have grown balls huh? You don't want to answer when I talk to you ."

         He turned away from the bed and threw the bottle Against the wall. my mum screamed as I could hear dad slapping her .

                           "You bitch! You were planning to leave me and take my daughter,"

                              "Derrick no,"

                            "I'm going to kill you right now and your daughter will watch you die ,"

                                  "Don't do this derrick,"my mum pleaded.

         I could hear my mum screaming as my dad kicked her as she feel on the ground.He sat on her and punched her face like a doll .I covered my mouth and cried as he beat her to a pulp. After an hour of excruciating pain,my Mother's body went limp .

                         "You worthless mate , worthless human ! "

         My dad got up lazily and got out of the room .I could hear him laughing to himself manically .How could someone hate the person they are married to ? Why did he call her a mate ? After a good five minutes,the front door of the house finally shut signalling his departure.

         I slowly crawled out of the bed with my teddy bear and rushed to my mother's body immediately .Her body was still but very warm .

                             "Mommy ,"I stuttered.

                                "Mommy," I shook her finally with tears rolling down my face.

            She opened her eyes slowly still hanging onto her last breath.She coughed out some blood as she tried to talk.

   

                              "Mommy loves you okay little monkey and don't forget what I taught you,"she squeezed my hand tightly as she continued talking .

                            "Mommy don't leave me ,"I cried.

                                " Be strong okay little monkey,"she wheezed .

               She finally closed her eyes and her body went limp . My mother just took her last breath in my arms School never taught me death .I wasn't prepared for this .I shook her hard hoping to revive her .

                    "Mommy! Please don't leave me mommy!"I cried," mommy!"

                            *End of dream *

      I gasped as I woke up from the reoccurring nightmare I have always had since that fateful day. I was drenched in my sweat .my face was wet from tears and I was weak .

           I was startled by the loud sound of my phone notifications .I groaned as I reached out my hand to silence the notification. I opened my phone only to be greeted with tips from my period app .

           

                  * You'd better enjoy the sunshine as 

                much as possible and often have activities in the areas with fresh air. This will make your mind to relax . Moreover , this will pay a good in keeping the balance of your mentality!*

     Today was my first day at school and I was excited .I looked at the time and it was only 6am and classes were at 8am .Well that was enough time for me to clean and prepare Papa's breakfast before he could angry.

        "What to  wear ," I said to myself non enthusiastically.

        I stretched my toes and got up lazily from my bed .I looked at the mirror and examined myself quickly.I tried to tie my long thick blond hair ,but I couldn't.After a few failed attempts.I I decided to let It fall down my back . After all this was atleast hide any bruises or marks my makeup can't hide 

            I hurriedly walked over to my wardrobe and scanned for a jean or maybe a dress ,I was a little bit plump and curvy which wasn't bad at all.I decided on a dress .It would be good for outdoors too ,I smiled at the thought of this And hurried down stairs to make breakfast for Papa and myself .This time I was hopeful for a good first day 

          I finally reached school since home wasn't so far from School .As I walked through the crowed hallways ,I felt so overwhelmed and scared . Every face was so strange and I friendly .I just wish I could crawl under my bed . I was late for class and I did know where it was.

            As I was rushing through the Hallways.One of them bumped into me and I dropped my glasses. Great! Now my sight seeing weapon is on the ground .

            I drop down and start looking for my glasses despite my vision obscured because I can only see vague figures of everybody.I suddenly bump Into someone's legs and I get a blood curdling scream .

                            "You bitch !"she shrieks.

    I don't know what is going on or what I just did because bumping into someone's legs doesn't earn me a title of 'you bitch!'. My anxiety peaks and I frantically feel the ground for my glasses and grab them immediately I feel them and put them on

                                "You bitch!"she screams again.

       I take in her clear view and realize that right in front of me is a tall girl with long auburn hair .She's wearing a pink little dress with two other girls behind her.Her face contorts in anger and it looks so inhumane,I feel like backing away but Im frozen to the spot .

                    "I'm so so so sorry,"I stutter 

                        "You fucking ruined my dress cunt!"She growls

                I flinch at her crude words but I cant do anything. The only thing I can mutter is I'm sorry. This situation is new to me because I have never had a confrontation before and my brain is stuck on freeze mode

                    "Leave her alone !" A deep voice snarls behind me 

    The girl's face pales immediately she turns back .Something about his deep husky voice calms me down instantly because I finally snap out of my frozen state immediately. His presence is dark and very dominating . Everyone keeps quiet and only a sound of a pin drops

      I look up to the direction of the voice and see a really tall , Lean and muscular guy . His eyes are completely dark grey which is weird for a normal eye color and his face is twisted into a deep rage .

                            "You can't possibly defend this human!She ruined ...."

                                "Get out!"He growls

                                    "Maddox please ,"she pleads.

                     "Alpha for you,"he cuts her off."now get out before I lose it !"

       The girl's huffs in annoyance and takes two small steps backwards and leaves immediately with her loud heals clicking slowly slowly.

                "What a bitch" someone mutters

           After a deathly silence, Everyone goes back to laughing and chatting.I look at The mysterious guy and his normal eye color is back .I hope I'm okay mentally because what I saw with his eyes was definitely not a mind trick .And why did he want to be addressed as alpha or maybe that's his nickname I guess .He adjusts his cap to look at me and I'm met with a pair of dark striking green eyes.I know have seen those eyes somewhere .No it couldn't be the wolf in my dreams no way!He furrows his eyebrows in a slightly confused way which By the way I find cute . 

     

                   "So fucking beautiful,"he whispers inaudibly as he helps me stand up.I feel a jolt of electricity surge through my body as I get up . What is really going on?

                    "Thank you alpha ,you didn't have to.." I reply 

                    "No Maddox for you,"He chuckles revealing both dimples on his cheek.

                            "Alright ,"I smile nervously because I thought his nickname was alpha or whatever he said he was

                            "Fuck! I'm late for my class "he curses under his breath and leaves immediately.
