Chapter five

Bloom

    

        I'm so excited for my class which is chemistry .Chemistry is my favourite science and i have never gotten a lower mark in chemistry since 10th grade . Im so excited and nervous at the same time because as soon as enter. I can hear the low whispers and comments as I enter .

      'She's tiny '

' She had an altercation with jane '

    

    I could every whisper as people in class looked at me .I was already nervous and shaken from what just happened earlier and i was already begging the ground to swallow me just now . My eyes immediately fall onto the mysterious guy's green eyes and he just stares right back at me . My cheek's turn red immediately he notices me . I feel his eyes stare at me the entire time in class.

                      "Hey come sit next to me ,"a cheerful girl with long dark hair waves at me .

     I quickly sit down on the chair next to her and put all my books on the desk .

               " Hi I'm Megan and you are?"The girl asks .

                                    "Bloom," i answer .

                    " Bloom what a nice name ! Is this your first day? Never seen a face like yours ..."she giggles.

                    " Yeah it is my first day today ,"

                "Where are you from ?"she asks calmly With rosy cheeks .

            " well from Maine ," I stutter shyly.

                "Wow that's a long way but you will love it here and of course me ,I will be your new chaperone ,"she giggles again .

              "Thanks"I reply slowly with a little smile

I wasn't hoping to make friends today but Megan seems like a nice person and it makes me feel at ease that I have someone close I can be friends with. In the last school I was .I never had friends and I was always alone .I just hope Papa will be comfortable with me having atleast one friend.

                   The class goes quiet immediately when our teacher walks .He stands in front and introduces the new topic and makes me stand before he goes on further.

                        "We have a new student here . Miss would you please stand up and introduce yourself, "he politely asks .

        I stand up slowly from my seat and go Infront of the class. I feel so uncomfortable as every pair of eyes look at me . My chest starts to tighten as I find the right words to say .I start to feel anxious and really scared.

                                "My my my name is is is..."I stutter.Its so hard to hide my stuttering especially when I'm really nervous.

                          "Stupid."Jane coughs loudly which makes everyone in class snicker .Gosh I wish the ground would open up and swallow me right now. A low and deathly growl makes everyone quiet and I look at the source only for my eyes to fall on the dark green eyes again. His eyes soften which makes me blush and calms me down .

                            "Go on Miss ,"the teacher encourages me.

                        "My name is Bloom and I'm from Maine and I'm so excited for my first day here at Lantern High school,"

                             "Thank you Miss Bloom and you may sit down,"

                               "Thank you,"I reply.

              I quickly sit down next to Megan and she gives me a reassuringly smile to make me feel comfortable.Thank God it's over . 

    

        It's lunch time and Megan and I make a beeline for the food at the cafeteria. Megan is tall and confident which makes me feel so small but she's friendly and it's easy to like her . After we are served our food . We find spots to sit and we start to eat .

                    "Well as you know that's the cool table the one meant for Jane and her little groupie, never cross paths with them , they are vile ,"Megan explains with disgust on her face .

                            "Well I already did and ..."

                    "You already did,"she gasps 

                        "Yeah it was embarrassing ,"I reply shyly thinking about what just happened earlier in the morning and how I was helped .

                        "And also I noticed Maddox was looking at you in class the whole time,"

                        " Well I.....,"

                 "You must be special because Maddox never really looks at any girl in this school not even our most popular girl ,Jane ,"

                        "Really?"I ask surprised as the tips of my ears and cheek's turn red at the fact that someone is paying attention to me .I thought I was very flat and boring and nothing about me stands out . 

                             "Yep ,when I know something then it's never wrong and my intuition never lies,"She giggles.

                            "I don't think I'm that special,"I mutter trying to sound gleeful

                            "Yes ,trust me Maddox is the most cold and grumpiest person in our class .His like a shadow in school .No one messes with him and he never talks .....so yes my little lady you are special,"she smiles as she pops a fry in her mouth 

        As we continue to eat . Jane and her mini group which makes me internally roll my eyes approach our table.Everyone's eyes follow her as she comes closer.I wonder what she wants now .She smiles slowly and stands closer to us .

                      "Hi blossom,"She greets 

                        "Bloom ,"I correct her

         

                        "Oh Bloom ,"she rolls he eyes disgustingly.

                     " Maddox seems to like you human "she continues with venom in her voice .But aren't we all humans .

                        "And I hate you already,"She adds while looking at her perfectly manicured hands 

                          " But I'm not going to continue dragging you in public anyway because I'm a nice - ish person ,"

           Megan and i are shocked because never in the world would I imagine someone like Jane would want to be friends with me .

                        "Here's the catch ,"She smiles slowly.

                        " You might be new here but you are a pathetic little piece of work and stay away from Maddox ,he wouldn't spare a glance on a fat pig like you ,"

                                "But ....,"I answered trying to interrupt her 

                    "Hush now and .... show up and do the right thing if you want to be on my good side otherwise i will make your life here a living hell Bloom .. Blossom whatever your pathetic name is ,"

        I'm already speechless and flabbergasted with everything happening so I just keep quiet .Megan only snorts in response at Jane 

                    "Just know Maddox will never be your mate okay never ,"She spits with hate in Her eyes as she sashays to her table
