AMA's POV
I hurried into the elevator with a scorching hot cup of coffee in my trembling hand. It was 7:45am and was rushing to the door of my boss' office to wait fo him to come in and hand him his coffee.
He always wants his coffee hot so I make sure to make it very hot so that by the time he got here it would still be hot to his taste.
Sigh. The struggle.
How did I end up here?
The unemployment in Nigeria was maddening and my mother wasn't exactly lenient with me being idle so I had to find something, anything that would help me get out of that house. I couldn't take the insults anymore so that's how for two years now I've been working as an assistant to Mr Shawn Ikechi. The CEO of Kechi Industries. The pay was very attractive so I took the job even though I have a degree in Business Administration and the job was way under my qualification.
Anything to pay the bills.
I stood by my boss' office till he came strutting out of the elevator as always in a slick black Armani suit and his expensive red bottoms. His hair was neatly cut and carved and his dark skin glowed as usual. He was a handsome man and I once had a crush on him but when I found out he was married, I quickly threw that thought out of my mind.
"Good morning Mr Shawn" I said to him as I gave him his cup of coffee. He hummed in reply and sipped from the cup before looking at me and smiling.
"This is just right.." he commended in that deep voice of his "You're becoming more efficient." He said smiling and walking into the office. My boss was nice to me but he never let me get in over my head that I was too good an assistant. I think he didn't want me to start slacking so he tried to make me think I was getting there or something.
I followed him into the office and quickly dropped my bag on my table before following him into his office to read him his schedule for the day.
His office was very fancy but very black which was his favorite color. The walls were white but every other thing in the office was black except his big glass desk.
He sat down in his chair and relaxed, looking at me "My schedule?"
"Sir you have a meeting with Tuwomi Construction in twenty minutes. And I believe that one of them is already in the board room. And then the governor called and he wants a meeting at 3pm. You also have some documents to sign from Production Management." I finished.
"Okay, go to the board room and tell Tunde that he should call his partners before I get there." I got shocked. I didn't understand how he knew who was already in the board room. I frowned.
"Sir, how do you already know who is in the board room?"
"Let's just say I know those three idiots pretty well." He said with a smile. I took that as my cue to leave but before I was out the door, my boss called out to me "Amarachi, please stay in the board room and keep poor Tunde company till I get there." He ordered
"Yes sir." I answered and shut the door.
I smiled to myself as I walked to the board room. My boss always tried to set me up with his clients. He was nice like that. But it never really worked out till now. I knew it wasn't really their fault but mine. My roommate told me that I was too uptight for my own good and she wondered if I would ever get married.
Well in the twenty four years I'd spent on earth, I'd realized that men are scum. So I was very weary of them especially the Yoruba demons. I could smell them from a mile away and when I encounter them, I vanish.
I opened the mahogany doors of the conference room to see a bald headed man wearing glasses. He was formerly looking at some papers but immediately I entered, his head sprang up and I froze. I knew him.
Well not literally knew him but he was famous. Some blogs called he and his friends the Yoruba demons.
The term was now used for Casanovas in general but if I'm correct, the man sitting before me and his two friends invented the term. They were the first Yoruba demons.
They always left behind a trail of the hearts they tore to shreds. They had dated numerous famous people and always left them broken. That's how they got into the blogs. In a nutshell, they were a horrible set of people.
"Good morning sir" I said immediately, pretending like breathing the same air with him wasn't about to choke me.
He gave me a charming smile. Typical.
"Call me Tunde. And you are?" He said. With the intense flirty look in his eyes and the one sided smug smile on his face, I knew he was trying to get into my pants. Like that was ever going to happen.
"I'm Amarachi Uzoka" I said and sat down in one of the chairs around the conference table. I didn't smile and just kept a stone cold expression so I didn't give him any ideas.
"Nice to meet you Amarachi. Where are you from?" He asked.
"Sir, my boss asked me to tell you to call your colleagues. They need to be here before it's time for the meeting." I said ignoring his question. Last thing I wanted to do was to be familiar with the devil.
"You work for Shawn?" He asked.
"Yes, his assistant" I replied. His face fell like I just dropped a bombshell then it clicked.
They were vying for a contract to build factories for Kechi industries and that alone is worth a million dollars. He's trying to be careful not to piss my boss off. Smart guy. If only he knew that my boss was trying to set us up.
How could my boss try to set me up with THE Yoruba demon.
Ha!
"I already called them. They should be here in about um.." before Tunde could finish speaking, the doors burst open to reveal two expensively dressed, tall and inhumanly handsome men. I recognized them from the blogs.
One of them was tall and bulky, light skinned like Tunde and had a full nicely kept beard. He was wearing a maroon colored suit that looked pretty expensive. The other one was the most handsome easily. Tall, bricked, dark skinned, pink lips, well structured face. And he was the most popular to the extent that I even knew his name.
Femi. The worst player who walked the earth.
You know that Femi that always trends on Twitter. Well, he was standing in my conference room.
They charged into the room going straight to where their friend sat. "It's about time you two showed up. Lazy ass niggas." Tunde snapped. It was obvious he was angry with them.
"Don't look at me. Ask Femi why we're late." The guy with the full beard said.
Femi on the other hand tried to feign ignorance and started looking around until his eyes landed on me. Then he froze.
I tried to act like I didn't just notice what happened and looked down at the table.
"Femi, Femi!!" His friends called out making him snap out of his daze. Thank God.
"Come and sit down let's go through this one more time before Mr Shawn comes." Tunde ordered. Femi sat down in the seat beside Tunde while the other guy who I couldn't ID yet sat on the other side of Tunde.
I looked up to see that Femi was still staring at me.
"Who's this?" He asked Tunde.
Tunde looked up the same time with their other friend. "Oh um this is Amarachi. She Mr Shawn's assistant." Tunde explained emphasizing on 'Mr Shawn'. I almost burst out in laughter.
His eyes still didn't shift from my frame as his friends went back to what they were doing.
"So Femi, hope you know what you're going to do?" The bearded guy said without raising up his head but Femi was distracted, still staring at me.
"Femi, Earth to Femi????" The beard guy almost yelled making Femi snap out of it. He looked to his friend "Kola, were you saying something??"
"Yes please get your head out of the clouds and focus." Kola said while Tunde just shooki his head at Femi.
"Forget it bro. Not gonna happen." Tunde whispered to Femi intending for me not to hear but what can I say? I have sharp ears.
At this moment, my boss enter the room in all his glory. The three men stood up and buttoned their suits to greet him.
"Gentlemen, it's so good to see you." My boss smiling and giving each of them handshakes.
"The pleasure is all ours sir" Femi replied and looked at me again.
Please what did I do to this boy???

And it's a wrap. Let me just say that POVs will be changing at some point so that we can know what's happening with our demons and our leading lady.
We're about to know more about our seemingly perfect playboys.

Femi POVI walked into the conference room behind Kola who was practically running at this point. I shook my head. Kola was just acting serious because Tunde was here. He was the one dragging feet while we were coming."It's about time you two showed up. Lazy ass niggas" Tunde said with a smirk. He was the most serious among us but he couldn't stay mad at us for long. That's how we were, we
AMA POVI walked into the apartment I shared with Radike, my roommate and switched on the lights. It was rather quiet meaning that she wasn't around. If she was, loud music would have been playing from her Beats Pill. She never lets me rest. Sometimes it was fun but other times it was flat out annoying.
AMA POVI sat at my desk in the office trying to proof read all the letters that my boss had to sign. I was already exhausted by the time I was on the tenth letter. This was a regular job that I hated because I literally had to read the letters up to three times to make sure there were no errors. My boss would kill me if he saw any mistake. My back hurt and so did my head. I couldn't wait to get it over with.
