Femi POV
I walked into the conference room behind Kola who was practically running at this point. I shook my head. Kola was just acting serious because Tunde was here. He was the one dragging feet while we were coming.
"It's about time you two showed up. Lazy ass niggas" Tunde said with a smirk. He was the most serious among us but he couldn't stay mad at us for long. That's how we were, we were brothers.
"Don't look at me, ask Femi why we're late" Kola the idiot said making Tunde give me a stern look. I looked away, my eyes going around the room to avoid this conversation until they landed on something.
Or rather, Someone.
I didn't notice her before. She was the exact definition of beauty. Unlike anything I've ever seen. Very fair skin, long raven black hair and big chestnut brown eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off her.
She was a goddess.
I could feel my soul connect to her and I knew. She would not be a victim of the pact. I would bend the world over to make sure she never got hurt by anyone most of all, by me.
She looked at me and then shyly lowered her head, looking at her beautiful hands on the table.
How could someone be so beautiful.
"Femi, Femi!!!" I heard my friends call simultaneously. I arranged my posture and looked at both of them who were already seated.
"Come and sit down let's go through this one more time before Mr Shawn comes in." Tunde said to me and I went to sit beside him.
As I sat, my eyes met hers again and she quickly looked down. So innocent. So beautiful. There was something about her. I wasn't sure but I knew my soul wanted to be close to hers. I knew I wouldn't rest till I had her. She had sucked me into her world.
I decided to ask Tunde who she was since they were together before we came. "Who's this?" I asked him.
He looked up at her and looked at me with wide eyes. "That's Amarachi, Mr Shawn's assistant." He said, stressing more on 'Mr Shawn'
I looked at her again. She looked mortified. I wanted to smile. She was perfect.
I knew what Tunde was insinuating. We couldn't risk going after her because we don't know how deep her relationship was with her boss. She might be his relative or his girlfriend or he's just fucking her. At this point, I don't care.
I wanted her and I would have her.
"Femi. Earth to Femi" I heard Kola's voice which jolted me back to reality.
I turned to face Kola "Kola, were you saying something?" I asked him. I genuinely didn't know what was going on in the room anymore.
"Yes please get your head out of the clouds and focus" Kola almost snapped. Kola was the most carefree amongst the three of us but he's reasonable when it comes to things like this. We made it a point never to fuck our client's assistant. We were all about chasing the bag and nothing more.
But Amarachi was different. When I saw her I didn't feel the need to fuck her and dump her. I didn't even want to. I just wanted her near me. Close to me. For a very long time.
"Forget it bro.." Tunde whispered in my ear making me face him "Not gonna happen" he completed, shaking his head at me.
Fuck it.
I was going to get her. No matter what.
A few moments after, Mr Shawn, the CEO of Kechi industries walked into the room and we stood up to greet him. His strides were meant to be intimidating but they unfortunately weren't because it's us. The Yoruba Demons. CEOs are intimidated by us.
"Gentlemen, it's so good to see you" Mr Shawn said, beaming at us. "The pleasure is all ours sir" I replied for the rest of the group as he gave us handshakes.
"Sit down please" he said sitting at the head of the table while my friends and I sat down in our previous seats. I saw that Amarachi had brought out a tablet and was seated upright now that her boss was here. I didn't know if it was just me or she did become more beautiful than before.
I decided to take my eyes off her for the duration of the meeting even though it was quite difficult. I didn't want to get distracted.
"So shall we begin"
————
"Nice doing business with you sir" I said giving Mr Shawn a handshake. I waited for him to finish the pleasantries with my guys before we headed out.
Mr Shawn loved our proposal for his factories and he also liked the fact that the three of us were going to handle the job ourselves being that I was the engineer, Kola was the project manager and Tunde was the architect. It was perfect. And also, reputation precedes us.
He didn't hesitate to sign the contract. More thanks to Tunde's negotiating skills.
As we headed out, I wanted to make sure I spoke to Amarachi before leaving. I didn't know what to expect but I had a strong feeling that she wouldn't be able to resist my charm.
When we got to the elevator, Mr Shawn bade us farewell and whispered something in his assistant's ear before he walked away. Amarachi turned towards me and stopped. Fear was evident in her eyes.
"Femi, come let's go now" Tunde complained.
"You can go, I'll catch up" I told them and I heard them hiss in displeasure as the elevator closed behind me.
I smiled at Amarachi, walking closer to her spot and stopping right in front of her.
"I'm Femi" I introduced, holding out my hand for her to take. She however, looked down at my hand and back at my face with a stone cold expression.
"Oh I know exactly who you are. What can I help you with sir?" She spat. She acted like I'd wronged her in some way even though I was sure I'd never met her in my life. She tried to look respectful but her words carried venom. And at that moment something that had never happened to me before took place.
My heart raced. Because of a woman.
I became a nervous wreck in that instant, I could feel the wetness in my palms and my forehead.
Why is this happening to me?
Where did my confidence suddenly go.
"Sir?" She called and I looked at her.
"Yes?" I answered awkwardly.
She studied me for a moment and replied "What can I help you with?"
I tried to regain composure. "First, don't call me sir. My name is Femi"
"That will be grossly unprofessional sir." She replied, giving me a stone cold glare. Her eyes held resentment of some kind. I still didn't know what to make of it.
"I insist Amarachi. Call me Femi." I said flashing her my award wining smile that girls trip for. But she didn't seem fazed one bit.
Abi I've lost my charm.
"Okay, Femi" she said like she would choke if she called my first name. I smirked.
"So where are you from. You look like you're half-caste" I asked. A very stupid question by the way. Didn't know what was wrong with me but I decided to go with it.
"I'm half Lebanese. If that will be all Femi I have work to do." She declared.
She was a hard nut to crack. I never had to work this hard with other girls.
"Can I at least have your number? I'd love to talk to you later" I asked.
I felt like face palming. OLUFEMI!!!!
She chuckled in amusement. "My number ke??? So you can use and dump me the way you've been doing to other girls around Lagos?" She said eyeing me up and down.
I felt a pang in my chest at her words. No wonder she had been looking at me with disdain. She knew me. From the blogs no doubt. For the first time in my years of being a Yoruba demon, I felt regret.
I was lost for words. Nothing I could say would change her mind. I just stood there staring at her.
"If you don't mind, I have work to do." She spat and walked away from me, going towards the stairwell.
Did she just....
Dear Lord ...

AMA POVI walked into the apartment I shared with Radike, my roommate and switched on the lights. It was rather quiet meaning that she wasn't around. If she was, loud music would have been playing from her Beats Pill. She never lets me rest. Sometimes it was fun but other times it was flat out annoying.
AMA POVI sat at my desk in the office trying to proof read all the letters that my boss had to sign. I was already exhausted by the time I was on the tenth letter. This was a regular job that I hated because I literally had to read the letters up to three times to make sure there were no errors. My boss would kill me if he saw any mistake. My back hurt and so did my head. I couldn't wait to get it over with.
Ama POV.I stood in front of Femi's apartment complex contemplating on if I should go back to the office and damn the consequences or just go in and see what happens.I had called my boss and told him that Femi wasn't available and he said I

AMA POVHate.Pure hate was what I felt for Femi.
Ama POVMy heart raced as I deciphered who was on the other end of the call. It was Femi."Yes hello?"He chuckled.
Ama.The day had ended. I felt giddy to go home and tell Femi all that happened today. My dream was being fulfilled before my very eyes. I was living in it. I really appreciated Femi's dad for giving me this opportunity. I was very grateful.Femi texted me, telling me he was downstairs and I ran into the elevator without knowing, meeting Tola there. "Ha, hey bestie... why are you running like that?" He said with an amused look on his face."Running ke, me? Never" I said, feigning ignorance of what I just unknowingly did."It's only man that will make you that excited. Femi is here isn't he?" He said.I folded "Yes he is." I rolled my eyes "I'm just happy to finally see him that's all. He's been MIA throughout today." I said."Ahn ahn why?" Tola asked."Well he's been in a meeting and I get it you know. Today is his first day at work since the transplant so I understand. They were probably doing an organizational meeting of some sorts." I said."Okay I get it. Anyways how are you enjo
Femi.I felt so bad for not answering my fiancée. I looked and saw a text from her. “Hey, I know you’re probably busy. You wouldn’t believe what just happened. I’m so happy. Gahhhh call me when you can. Ly x” the text said.I didn’t want to dampen her own mood in any way. She seemed very happy about what was going on around her. I was still sad and emotionally downcast and I knew if I spoke to her in this mood she was going to leave everything she was doing and appear in my office. I would really appreciate her presence now but I also didn’t want to spoil her happiness. I decided to text her saying that I was going to be in a long meeting and I would come pick her up when she’s ready to go. She texted back for acknowledgement. I dropped my phone and sighed, placing my head in my hand. I seemed to be doing that a lot.In my mind, I was trying to picture how this woman could even be remotely related to me. I had to keep telling myself “my parents are dead”. Whoever this woman was, she
Femi.Today was a good day. I was very giddy while entering the office and it wasn't even about anything that I did or was going to do. I was just very glad that Ama was finally getting her flowers. It was vivid in my mind how she would always talk my ears full on how many ideas she has for the Lays project even when it was not set in stone that she was going to handle it with Kechi industries. She had so much passion for this that i knew she was going to do very well with it.As i walked into the office i was greeted by the front desk representative and before i could leave the lobby she said "There's someone here to see you sir. She said she is your mother." She said.I frowned. My mother never came here before. It was strange that she was here. "Okay where is she?" I asked. I hoped for her sake that she didn't send my 'mother' to my office."The conference room" she said. I sighed and walked in to my office first to drop my laptop and gadgets before going downstairs back to the con

We already have the Quaker Oats deal because we asked them for it and that is why Quaker Oats is no longer an imported brand. Now is the time to take Lays. This will mean that Lays would be cheaper here in Nigeria and would make more sales, generating revenue for the company. We need to design the product and pitch it to Pepsi for approval and rights." Ama.The meeting went from project to project until it finally got to my turn. The Lays Project. Shawn smiled when he saw it. He had texted me before today that I had to come and defend the project in front of the board. They had approved it but wanted to know if I knew what I was doing. They are very unserious because I was the one who came up with this idea so what more did they want? I however, tried to study what had already been rendered and made slides to display what I was about to say.I stood up and walked over to the front of the conference room and started my presentation. I was looking around at the faces before I started and my eyes landed on Shawn. He gave me a small smile and a nod. I felt more confident as I was feeling nervous before.
Previously...Femi."Wait I actually told the doctor to still do the test with the fetus they removed. I know it's dark sided but I don't want to be beriddled with grief that's not mine to bear. Because I think it's my fault. If I wasn't shagging some girl and actually answered the phone on time maybe they could have saved the baby you know." Tunde said."There was no way that you could have known," I said."How long till the test comes out?" Kola asked."By tomorrow." Tunde said."So calm the fuck down. If the baby is really yours then you can now cry as much as you want but I am sure that the baby isn't yours. That girl is a slimy snake." Kola said.. "As for you, I will call Dad's therapist. You need to get yourself straight after the damn drug use." Kola said."Okay. I don't want dad to know though" Tunde said."He won't know don't worry. Therapists don't snitch on their clients. Even if Dad will definitely know you're seeing the therapist, he won't know why and think it's for your
Femi.Tunde just stood there staring at us but we didn’t waver. We had to intervene. Tunde did not look good in any capacity at all.“Tunde you need to speak.” I said after a while of silence.“Why? Why do you guys think that something is wrong with me?” Tunde said while twitching, even though I doubted it before now I was sure that he was using.“God! Tunde where did you get the drugs from!” Kola yelled, he was not having it. Tunde was getting irritated now.I held Kola’s shoulder. “If you come at him like that he won’t say anything,” I said to him.I looked at Tunde, “The reason why we think you have a problem is this,” I pointed at his appearance,“You’re really insecure about your hairline but your hair is growing out, you never let that happen for anything. You didn’t even wear a cap to cover it. You’re dressed like a homeless person. Shirt not tucked in, tie loose, clothes rumpled. No suit on a Monday morning that’s very unlike you.” I said.“And let’s not forget the uncontrolla
Previously…Femi."Well after all this it seems like I have to get an executive assistant because the work is plenty. I need someone to keep track. This just means that our company is growing day by day and I am proud of everyone and the work they have put into this while I was away. Thank you so much. Speaking of our company growing, it may seem as though we have made enough money for us to raise salaries. You all have done a wonderful job. I will liaise with HR. Expect those emails." I said. Everyone cheered and I liked to see smiles on their faces. They would only be happy to work for us when they are happy with the benefits they get.Once the meeting ended we cornered Tunde in the conference room, just the three of us and I used my phone to shut off the surveillance cameras so that we could effectively speak to our nit wit brother.———-Femi.“Oya what is going on with you, quickly.” Kola said.“I don’t understand why you guys are attacking me like this” Tunde replied.
