CHAPTER 6

Natalia's Pov 

~BACK TO THE PRESENT~

"Did you hear what happened to Sasha and her friends?...oh my, it was the best punishment for them even though I kind of feel a little bad at the harsh methods that were used."  

"Nat, did you hear about it? You know, rumours kept spreading about Alpha Grey being responsible for their predicament. According to what I heard from some peeps at the Pack house, it was...Nat, Natie! Where did your mind run off to?" She asked whilst jerking me out of my reverie.

"No where, you were saying?" I asked her still pondering about some of the events of that day. 

"Well, I heard that it was Alpha Grey who ordered for Sasha and her minions to be stripped out of their ranks and made Omegas in their various Packs and any Alpha who refused to comply to his orders was threatened with the prospects of war between their Pack and Whitefang Pack." 

"Really, why would he do that?" I asked, doing a little happy dance in mind for what happened to her and her friends. 

"They said he got home the night of the gathering very upset demanding the heads of Sasha and her friends for mocking and making jest of his lover in the open. But thankfully, their parents begged for mercy on their behalf, pleading for a life of servitude and demotion for each of them." She said amused. 

"How awful of him, to prioritize his lovers happiness that's not yet his Luna over all their lives" I said, looking bemused.

"You know you don't actually mean that." My wolf Nala countered my words. "Give me a break Nala."  

"You should have seen Sasha's face when I visited the Pack house to deliver some materials with my dad, I saw her moping and cleaning the entire environment. Apparently, one of Alpha Grey's command was for her to be deployed to different Packs to work as a maid for a minimum of two years." Katie said laughing. 

"Wow!! Such a tough sentence, for only mocking at his supposed lover!" That is just too harsh." I said with an angry hiss. "His mystery girl must really mean alot to him."

"Well yeah, why wouldn't he? I heard she look so much like..." she said stopping mid-sentence.

I stretch my neck from my bed to know why she stopped talking, only to see Kathrine knocked out, her mouth wide open with saliva trickling out.

There goes sleeping beauty, totally knocked out in the middle of a sentence as always.

I yawn too, suddenly feeling extremely tired and sleepy from all the events of today,  I'm just so happy to be here with my cousin, even if it's just for a short period. 

I can't stop my mind from suddenly thinking about the Perv. I wonder what he was doing presently. 

"Do you think the perv is also thinking about us Nala? I asked my wolf, desperately seeking for reassurance that I was not the only one in this puddle of want.

        "I hope so, I do hope we can see his wolf when next we meet, I bet his wolf would look as strong and fierce as his human form" Nala said howling happily.

"Don't get too extra Nala, of-course we can see his wolf but there shall be no mating till we're ready to and we are sure of him and his true feelings for us. We shouldn't also forget what Pack he is from...If he ever finds out I am from the Silvercrest Pack...worse, is when he finds out I am the daughter of the Man that had his father killed. He might never forgive us Nala...so let's take things one day at time or we might loose everything we plan on getting." I tell her, feeling a pang of sadness in my heart. 

I close my eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep with the images of the perv's cocky smile enveloping and rooming in my mind. I knew he especially would detest anything and anyone from my Pack and I couldn't blame him if he eventually found out about me and hated me too. My parents and Pack was responsible for their pain, and even though I wasn't born then, I could not be exempted from the burnt of their actions.

The Next Morning.

"mmmmm" I groan feeling the brightness as the sunray shines through the open curtains hitting my face.

"Get up sleeping Beauty, No patience for lazy bones here" Katie said, jumping on my bed to further ensure I'm totally awake.

"Ahh...Katie, let me sleep some more." I beg her, hoping she'd let be for a little more time.

"Nope, we have to start getting prepared for the ball." She said beaming brightly. 

"Huh...what time is it, what can we do now?" I ask wondering why she'd want us to start the preparations for a ball that would begin at smokefall.

The Ball occured once in two years where unmated, rejected and even mated werewolves are free to attend in search of other unmated peeps they might take a liking to. Not every Pack in the south were free to participate, especially Packs under the Leadership of the Whitefang Pack, they vehemently refused for those Packs to associate with the "free born" according to their Alpha. 

And since they were the ones hosting the events their time, it would be difficult for any member of Bloodmood that planned to sneak unnoticed  for the Ball.

"Just five more minutes and I'll be up...." I said, turning over to my other side.

"Five more minutes?...she asked and I uttered inaudible 'yes'.   

Thankfully, she leaves me and goes out the door even though she did not cover back the windows. 

It would be foolish to sleep back, knowing how my cousin is with time especially when she has an event she had been patiently waiting for and she planned on looking the best to get the attention of half of the unmated present. 

I just close my eyes, relaxing my nerves so I have the strength to stand up when Katie comes barging in again, this time she might drag me out the bed if I don't get up immediately.

I twist and turn from side to side, wondering why Katie would let the rest for ten more minutes. Knowing my cousin was the kind of person who would spare more time to just relax. I get up suspiciously, analyzing my surroundings, either she had placed something to wake me up if I refused to get up or something important now had her attention. 

Either way, I wasn't gonna take chances.

I sprang up from the bed rearranging my nightie and my hair that now looked like a birds nest. I head to the living room still wondering where Katie had run off to. The maids and servants my Aunt owned were all busy doing one thing or the other, the house smelled incredibly delicious. 

I can't help but wonder what else my Aunt and Uncle were hosting, usually everything happened at the Alphas mansion so there wasn't any need for individual gatherings. But with the wraps and design materials I see the maids putting around the house it seemed the Ball would no longer hold at Alpha Seiko's Mansion but now in my Aunt's house. 

It happening here meant I couldn't makeup a sickness excuse in order to avoid attending. Which was very disappointing as I didn't want to get mated with anyone so what purpose is my attendance needed, also the perv wasn't going to be in attendance which is further intensifying my desire to skip the charade and enjoyment music from my room.

I'm headed to the kitchen to look for my cousin and find out where the salivating aroma is coming from when I notice my cousin bombarding Daniel about his family and relationship, the poor guy is sweating all-over nervously looking around in search of her parents who might misunderstand the situation.

But what he doesn't know is my aunt and her husband are already fully aware of the flirty nature of their daughter and wouldn't do anything other than save him from her clutches. 

His wandering eyes suddenly finds me and rests on me with a pleading look that "says help me before she kills me." 

"Katherine Salvador I have been looking for you all-over this house, when will you stop tormenting my Daniel."

"C'mon, tormenting is such a big word Nat, he obviously likes talking to me and he also isn't complaining,  so leave us be...right Dany?" She asked winking seductively at him.

He opens his mouth and closes it back like a fish, obviously at a loss of words to say, I shake my head and go to his aid, amused by the both of them. 

"Have you taken Mel for a walk this morning?" I asked Daniel, hoping he gets the hint and excuses himself before my cousin refuses to ever let him go.

"No ma'am, I'll go do that now" he said, excusing himself and saving his head. I can see the relieve wash over his face as he skipped quickly refusing to look back at her for approval. 

I'm now left with an energetic Kathrine, who keeps looking  at me like there's a million things she would change in my appearance for the Ball. "We better get ready" she yelped in excitement.

My freedom suddenly flashes before my eyes as I regret saving Daniel whilst leaving myself unprotected and vulnerable. I can feel the unshed tears threaten to come out in torrents as she drags me along. 

"Firstly, we are going to get our hair and nails done, next up is the boutique to pick out the perfect dresses for the occasion, we have to look our finest so my prince charming will be impressed and sweep me off my feet." She jumped happily. 

"Can we first brush, take our bath and eat first? I asked after hearing my tummy rumbling loudly for food."

She gives it a little thought and agrees when her belly also starts to rumble, we laugh our heart out as it seemed like our bellies were now in competition with one another, each making sounds to surpass the latter.  

We head to the kitchen to see my Aunt in her element, ordering the cooks and giving them directions on how she wanted the food presented. It smelled heavily here, lots and lots of dishes I haven't even seen before were being made making my mouth water badly for a taste.
