“Please, Layla, my cousin needs your help. I’m sorry for what John did to you but I need your help. You are the only one who is so knowledgeable about shifters. My cousin is stuck in his wolf form and we just have a few hours to the full moon, and we would be useless to him.

“Please, we can’t lose him, I can’t lose him. He’s a wonderful person and he doesn’t deserve to die like that. Please, whatever you want, just state it and we’ll make it happen.” Oliver begged as he fell to his knees crying.

Both Layla and John were surprised by his gesture. She immediately took pity on him.

“You know, I’ve never had anyone that gave a shit about me, someone who was scared of losing me, someone who would give anything just to make me happy. I wish I had that, I wish I had someone who I had that kind of relationship with. I thought my daughter would be that person but she died a long time ago.” Layla said and paused.

“She died? I’m so sorry about that. I understand how you must feel.” Oliver said
