Again, I know going to see Dimitri alone would be stupid.

I stared at the dark ceiling of my room while lying on my bed. Balthazar had returned from his night patrol about an hour ago. The clock opposite me showed half past two in the morning while I waited, listening for a sound that indicated Balthazar had not slept.

It was still drizzling outside and interspersed with a fairly strong night wind, I could hear the occasional sound of raindrops hitting my bedroom window.

After making sure Balthazar was asleep, I pulled my blanket and got off my bed. I took the parka I had prepared on the small couch and put it on before putting on my shoes and tying my long hair. Don't forget I also put a small flashlight in my park pocket.

I can't go out through the castle door because Balthazar must be able to hear it, so the only way is through the window of this room. I pushed aside the heavy curtains that covered one of the windows in this room, then my hand carefully unlocked the window latch an
