“How are you feeling miss Kitty?”. the cat meows at her as it starts moving her head in circles against her chest “You must have been very scared and alone, don’t worry I’ll take care of you so you don't have to be alone anymore''.

  • The Victorian Society of Strange Ocurrances   Preface and warnings

This book is a serial book of supernatural mystery stories so If you like to read monster stories or monster hunter stories, with a touch of mystery and romance you are reading the right book. You don't need to read all of them to understand a single story, I do recommend reading them all since characters will have ongoing arcs. But you can skip a story if it's not that exciting to you and don't mind losing some character development. The book has a stable cast of characters and some others will be recurring. this book takes place in Victorian England and the work won't ignore the time period, so expect some time-period problems like racism, bigotry, etc, they exist in this universe. But characters from all walks of life will be present in the book (LGBTQ+ and BIPOC can appear is what I mean). This book does try to stay as truthful to the time period as possible and the legends and folk tales of the places it tackles, however, some historical anachronisms may happen, and sometimes

London, 1863 A new morning in London, as cold as foggy as only the British Isles could be, the smell of baked goods, wet pavement, carriages making their rounds and the children screaming in the streets trying to sell the morning paper. And did they ever have the most intriguing of headlines to keep the readers interested "Lord Reginald found dead under mysterious circumstances" What a hook for readers that was, apparently one of the Queen's richest of friends was found dead it was impossible not to grab a copy. A young blonde noblewoman by the name of Elizabeth certainly thought so, quickly buying her paper and sitting at 'Mrs Marcy's tea shop' near one of the booths against the windows (the place where she and her mother would sit and where she was to meet her that afternoon) she quickly opened the designated page where all the information about this heinous crime happened. "Today at 5:30 the police found the body of Lord Reginald of Lincolnshire, at the night house establishmen

Kent guided Elizabeth through the complex, it was a three story building with a terrace included on top. They walked up to the second floor where they found a lounge area and then a large corridor that had separate rooms like a hotel would, but this where clearly for other types of adult needs. He didn’t stop until the reached the room where the murder happened and he opened the door for her, letting her walk in first. "Thank you, Mister Kent, you are very kind" she said as she stepped into the room "let us see what we have here". She looked at the room and took it in as if it was a picture, she studied the room: there was an outline on the floor around Lord Reginald's body, there was a vase knocked out on the floor smashed into small fragments and flowers around it, a painting slightly moved from its position; in addition to that a bed with the sheets taken off of it and bathtub that was not used. It was clear that this was a room used for discreet callings and Lord Reginald was

The tone of his answer was one of frustration, years of dedication and nothing to show for them, always trying to prove himself but never being recognized for his effort."I imagine" she shared the sentiment "people tend to side-eye to people who won't do what's expected of them…waiting fo

Maggie was walking down the streets in the early night accompanied by Rory Thompson, they shouldn’t be walking together but they just couldn’t be that far away from each other. Rory was a little more protective now of her, while her father believe danger had passed the Thompson boy was not that at ease since he heard the events of the death of Claudia Martin. He made sure that Maggie knew some of the details of what happened there, as least graphic as possible but he avoided the alleged curse that she left before giving herself to the dark one. Maggie was happily being led by Rory as she was latching onto his arm, she felt happy, she hoped that this was a thing they could do in daylight, going on picnics and strolling down the streets like men and wife. There was a small almost imperceptive sound reminiscent of a hound that got Maggie to stop and turn her head back to the road they were walking “Did you hear that?” Rory looks back to where she is facing but he shrugs his shoulders

Alan took a soft wet cloth and started to clean the wound gently, even tho his movements were slow and careful she still winched in pain ever so often “Do you think it will leave a mark?” “I am afraid it will Lass, this is going to be with you for life…” He says completely sure but smiles at her “But it will be a reminder that you saved someone's life once, a person that was dear to me” Elizabeth hissed as the burned flesh on her palm was being cared for but tried to keep high spirits “It was my pleasure, I know that Michael is very dear to you…and the type of attachment you made with him after your wife died.” Alan was silent for a couple of seconds, that was a secret he didn’t want anyone to know about there was something about this London girl who knows more than a Lady should that ma

After the events that transpired at the mayor's Lucas Saweyer’s house where an undead attacked the only living child of the town’s leader, Maggie, by moving corpses commanded by the town's doctor Claudia Martin. The residents of Crawley had been shaken that night and the whole affair was aggravated by the days of fear that they had experienced with the fog and the horrible images it could be holding, the imagination was an enemy to the people of this town. When this type of tension, feelings of unsafety and fear collide in people's lives for this long it pushes people to their most primal selves…and the residents of this town had enough of all three and qualified their actions after the events transpired as primal would be too kind. The burning of a Witch had not been a thing in civilised England in a long time, even the late Queen Anne had pardoned one Jane Wenhamw from hanging a century ago out of the out barbarity of the whole affair, and probably due to her innocence.
