Brinda

Everyone is a betrayal. No one is worth sacrificing anything for. No one can be trusted as well. Humans are the most prerequisite beings on Earth.

Just imagine!!!

Marshall trying to kill me? Why? For what?

Even if I did push him down the cliff, I never did that on purpose. I was meant to shoot him but I pushed him off the cliff instead.

Now I'm starting to regret why I didn't kill him that day. I should have shot him in the head. He could have died and never thought of killing me today.

Even the food I bought with the last dime on me is now gone. The money I had on me that I can use to get a taxi had fallen during the chaos earlier.

Where can I go?

Definitely not my home. If I head back home at the moment, I would literally be handing myself over to the brink of death.

Francesco.

Yes, Francesco.

To defeat an enemy, you have to stay under the protection of your enemy's enemy. As they say, ‘An enemy of an enemy is a friend.’

I would surely head back to Francesco house. From there, I will create chaos. It is high time I get past the two useless men in my life and focus on avenging myself.

They both had used me to gain power. Now, the Phoenix has risen. I will avenge myself.

I walked tirelessly for thirty minutes before I arrived at Francesco's apartment. Upon getting to the living room, Francesco was seated as if he was a king who ruled a kingdom.

“Hey, the slave is back.” He mocked, causing the room to be filled with laughter by his men.

I just bowed my head to make him feel I was intimidated by his actions. In reality, I was smiling in between my teeth because of what I had in mind.

I'm here for a purpose and I will fulfill it.

“Oh… Damsel. Now I get it.” He clicked his tongue. “You hate it when I calm you a ‘slave’ which is what you are. Well, I must give you credit because you are a daring one.” He added.

“I… I…” I stuttered on purpose.

Francesco mimicked me for a while. “Cat got your tongue? What happened to the viciousness in you? Weren't you boasting earlier? I even thought you would be back after twenty hours but you proved me wrong. You came back in two hours! That's to show you can't live without me.”

His last word pierced my heart and I almost turned to walk out but the fear of the danger outside made my heart flutter.

I have always been a spy but a secret one. No one knew my identity so it was way easy to cover up.

After what happened earlier, Marshall must be doing everything to get me. Also, with the level of my fighting skills he saw today, he must have reasoned that I am not just the usual fragile girl I show the world.

“Kneel!” Francesco commanded while I stared at him. “Are you deaf? Kneel, I say!”

Submitting to his request, I went on my knees but with all my body rested.

“Kneel upright.” He commanded sharply and I obliged but with a frown on my face.

“Now raise your hands up in the air.” He chimed.

I returned a look full of pride at him and he also flashed a grin. With a mind full of disapproval, I fulfilled his wish.

He excused his men, leaving us both alone in the living room.

“Brinda,” he called gently as he sipped from his wine. He also sank back into the chair. “You must answer whenever I call you.” He stated the obvious which I always looked down on. “Brinda!” He called.

“Yes,” I replied.

“You are still unable to get the crypt key. When do you plan on retrieving it?” He asked, before he straightened his posture.

“What exactly do you need the crypt key for?” For curiosity not to kill me, I asked the question once again.

He sighed and gazed into my eyes for some time. “Well, you don't need to know. Or should I say… That was what I had in mind earlier but since you have shown that you can be a good person, I will tell you.”

I nodded in response while he laughed.

I knew he was laughing at how I look right now. I scrunch up my face. Francesco showed no interest in my signs of wanting to be released. Instead, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his back pocket and lit it.

He puffed the smoke into the air. He accompanied it by gulping a glass of wine down. I hissed inwardly.

“I want to open The Black Book.” He said out of nowhere.

“Black Book?” I repeated after him. “What's that?” I asked. He didn't respond as he kept staring at me. “Francesco, what the hell is The Black Book?” I asked, my heart racing already.

Francesco finally opened his mouth. “The Black Book contains all the past histories of the Mafia families in New York and some other parts of the world.”

I wanted to laugh as I found nothing risky in the statement he just made. “Then, how is that a problem?”

“Really, Damsel?” He let out a sigh. “Looks like you don't know what is at stake here. It can affect us both. And in a big way. Trust me when I say that.” He pressed his words.

I felt the emphasis on his words which propelled me to dive further into the topic. “Explain better.”

“The Black Book is in my possession. In fact, it is in this house but I need the crypt key to open it. There are some issues… Like, I need it for clarity.” He explained.

“What do you want to clarify?” I asked. I need to know everything.

“Keep quiet!” He fired. “You are asking too many questions. I will just give you a brief idea of what it is. The Black Book contains secrets that can harm me, harm you and also harm some other people. It can put our lives in danger too.”

My mouth rolled into an O-Shape. “My life was already in danger before. What does yours have to do with it?”

“Just wait till you know. All I want is The Black Book. How do you plan on getting it?” Francesco asked.

I observed his attitude for a while and also his emotions. I saw them for the first time since he approached me. They were the same he had years ago.

Now, with all the revelations he just made. He has left me with a huge task. How do I fucking find the crypt key with Marshall already on the lookout for me?

That will be more like willingly entering a Lion’s den.

“Aren't you finished, Brinda?” My mind voice asked.

Brinda The next evening came quicker than I expected. Still, I haven't found a way to bypass Marshall and his men. Bullet is not home as she had gone on a mission Francesco sent her on. My legs move faster and faster around the room due to the fact that I was pacing up and down. Sweat glistened on my face, all the way to my back. Just as I increased the air conditioner, I heard a loud bang on my door. “Who the hell is that?” I questioned. Coupled with the issues I was facing, I rushed to open the door only to see Francesco with a smirking expression. “The hell is me.” He announced, his baritone voice sent chills down my spine. I rubbed the back of my head as I looked away nervously. “Ehm… How may I be of help to you?” I asked. “You can help yourself by following me out of your room. Right now!” He said, with full authority. I shrugged my shoulders before I followed him downstairs. When we got there, he walked towards the door swiftly. “Where are we going?” I asked, intrigued

BrindaI exhaled through my mouth after I left the room when Bullet was instructed by Francesco to give him another round of blowjobs. Swiftly, I made my way out of the building. I saw a chair under a tree where no one was. I walked there and took a seat. My mind was interrupted by several thoughts on how to escape from Francesco’s clutches and how to overtake Marshall. While still thinking of that, my mind drifted to what I witnessed earlier. The low moans I heard in the jet was okay but witnessing the blowjob? Clearly not acceptable. I shook my head to get rid of the image from my memory but it didn't help. Rather, my mind was telling me that they were fucking already. My feet started burning while I stomped them on the floor. Suddenly, I felt a touch on my shoulder. It was familiar to Francesco's. “Francesco, you bloody…”“Who is Francesco?” Mr. Desmond's voice echoed from behind. “Are you his new slut?” I turned to face him while his mouth rolled into an O-Shape, “Now, I g

BrindaFrancesco Dante. Francesco's father. Purab Chaturvedi. Marshall Fernandez. Marshall's father. I stared at the white board before me that I had their names written on as I thought of a lot of possibilities of what they had in common. If Marshall was the heir of the Fernandez family, why did he approach me? As for Francesco, he told me he was an orphan. He even worked as a barman to top it all. Everything just doesn't add up. And the death of my mother… Why? What does she have to do with all this? Francesco could have approached me easily. I could have agreed to be of help. Even now, I can't even get back to my past self. The skills aren't there anymore. I had vowed to leave that life because I had gained nothing while I worked with Alpha Exposition. Just killings and spreading sorrow. I rested my head on my fingers and heaved a loud sigh before I walked to the balcony of my room. The early morning sun cast a warm glow on my face. Now, who the fuck are these men and why

Brinda “Vince Khumalo is fifty-six years old. He is an assistant to Purab Chaturvedi whom we've killed. He lives in Seattle with his family. Two girls and his wife, of course. He hails from South Africa and he owns Khumalo Enterprises.” I read out the result from the laptop's screen as I and Francesco both had our gazes fixed on the man's profile. Hacking into different systems to get into his real profile was quite stressful but thanks to my knowledge and skills, I overcame that. For Francesco to have asked me to look into Vince's profile, it could only mean one thing — he wants him dead and nothing more. “Why are we looking into his profile?” I asked, breaking the silence. Francesco heaved a sigh and sank his back into the sofa. He stretched his legs on the table, almost knocking the laptop from my lap. Then he crossed his legs and used his gestures to tell me he needed some wine. If only I could add poison into it. I served some wine which was already kept on the table in a

Brinda “Bullet, lead the front. Brinda, stay in the middle. I will watch our backs. Once we get rid of the security guards, I will wait outside while you both fetch our target. Just in case you can also get his family, take them all. But note this, I need them all alive.” Francesco dictated shortly after we got off the car a few metres from Khumalo’s home. Swiftly, we charged towards the building and hid behind the flowers close to the wall. “I didn't expect them to be this much. What do we do?” Francesco said after we saw about thirty men guarding the entrance of the house. “Does he know we will come?” I asked in a low tone. “I doubt. If he knew, he wouldn't have waited for us to come. My informants must have missed a step in their investigation.” Francesco retorted, his voice slightly filled with annoyance. “We stick to the plan.” Bullet whispered from behind before she jumped into the compound and clashed with the guards. Francesco followed her immediately. What am I waiting

She's just a fucking weak female.” He shouted before he shot one of his associates who stood a few metres away from him in the head. Marshall had an outburst after he clearly instructed his men to kidnap Brinda however they couldn't. He wanted to use her as a pawn to get Francesco to subject to his clutches. “And you?” Marshall turned sharply to the other man. The man shook his head and stretched his arms to Marshall, pleading. “You deserve death.” Marshall predicted before he shot the man in the head too. The man let out a loud cry before he dropped dead. The third man in the room quietly went on his knees. “Don… I will get her next time. Right from this minute, I will search for her.” Marshall smirked before he shot the man in the chest and it missed no way to his heart. “I don't give second chances as I'm not a fan of it.” He retired to his sofa and crossed his legs over the center table. “Scar!” A few

Then, to spice her words up, she took her left hand to her right nipple and started running it gently while her mouth formed an o-shape. “You are so fucking nasty, bitch!” Marshall commented with a sly grin on his face. “Yes, I love it when you call me ‘bitch’. Brinda I never knew that my hands and body would move so fast apart from when I went on missions to kill and obtain other items. My heart raced fast as I shoved the last piece of my mother's most loved item into the backpack in my left hand. I rushed to the kitchen, opened the cabinet and brought out the safe I had kept the crypt key. I was still in the middle of thinking of whether I should take it along, leave it or toss it somewhere Francesco would find it easily when I heard a loud bang outside. No one needed to tell me.I’ve got company.I need to escape. As fast as possible. I dumped the safe into the backpack, zipped it and hid behind the kitchen’s door. I slid my right hand into my pocket and brought out a pistol while my left hand held the bag firmly. As I prepared myself for what was to come, I had nothing else on my mind than… To kill. To slaughter. To send whoever came after me to the jaws of death.Just then, the screeching of another set of cars outside made me

Francesco did not miss a step as his legs willed him faster while he climbed the steps. Elizabeth was also relentless in her pursuit. Bullet was busy outside ordering the men to pack the dead bodies on the ground so it could be disposed of. Elizabeth couldn't catch up with Francesco who had no intention of stopping at all. His mind was filled with questions. I am just a burden and nothing else. There is no place for me in this world. Am I just a commodity? Those were the thoughts that roamed his mind.He moved swiftly towards The Dark Room and when he reached there, he was still trying to unlock the door when a soft female's hand touched his hand. He knew who it was already. He had been with her for as long as he could remember in his entire life. “Leave me!” He fired without bothering to look at her. She refused to let go of his hand and she pulled him to face her instead. Tears clogged her eyes but she did her best to prevent them from streaming down her eyes.“Francesco… Fran

Bullet's gaze was unyielding as she faced the Russo brothers with a stare down. The backdoor of the car she alighted from opened and a pair of a lady’s red shoes appeared. A few seconds later, the figure came out of the car. Francesco's eyes shone brightly as he watched his mother stand before him cladded in a black tight-fitted costume. Her hair, packed into a ponytail style. She narrowed her eyes towards the Russo brothers who had an irritated look on their faces. She smirked as she made her way towards them. The Russo brothers' men raised their guns at Elizabeth but she did not flinch. Every step she took was with resilience and her eyes were sharp. When she finally reached them, she smiled. “Why are you both here? And after how many years?” Leopard, the second of the Russo brothers, spoke but his hands remained in his pockets. “The Lioness has arrived but is she afraid to see us or does she remember our father?” “Your father?” Elizabeth scuffed. “How dare you talk about tha

The gunfire cracked through the air like a thunderstorm on judgment day. Chaos erupted. Grown men, strong and battle-hardened, screamed like frightened children.Francesco locked eyes with Brinda for a brief, electric moment before he turned and bolted from the room.“Bastard! Will you release me?” Brinda’s voice sliced through the noise, but he was already gone.Francesco moved with urgency, his boots pounding against the floor as he rushed to his room. No hesitation. No second thoughts. He yanked open the bathroom door and pressed a hidden button beneath the drawer handle — just like Brinda had when she had sneaked into his space days ago with Bullet. The drawer slid open with a soft click, revealing a lethal collection of guns. A wicked smirk curled his lips. He grabbed a few of the deadliest ones, admiring their weight in his hands. Then, just as he was arming himself, Guerrero crawled into the bathroom, his face twisted in pain, his left arm hanging limply like a broken doll’s.

Francesco lit up the cigarette in his right hand, his eyes fixed on me. “Can't you take your eyes off me?” I questioned, throwing my hands in the air. He rolled his eyes sarcastically, “Really?” He arched an eyebrow. “You are not that beautiful for me not to take my eyes off you.”“Seriously?
