Brinda

I exhaled through my mouth after I left the room when Bullet was instructed by Francesco to give him another round of blowjobs.

Swiftly, I made my way out of the building.

I saw a chair under a tree where no one was. I walked there and took a seat.

My mind was interrupted by several thoughts on how to escape from Francesco’s clutches and how to overtake Marshall.

While still thinking of that, my mind drifted to what I witnessed earlier. The low moans I heard in the jet was okay but witnessing the blowjob?

Clearly not acceptable.

I shook my head to get rid of the image from my memory but it didn't help. Rather, my mind was telling me that they were fucking already.

My feet started burning while I stomped them on the floor.

Suddenly, I felt a touch on my shoulder. It was familiar to Francesco's. “Francesco, you bloody…”

“Who is Francesco?” Mr. Desmond's voice echoed from behind. “Are you his new slut?” I turned to face him while his mouth rolled into an O-Shape, “Now, I get it. I guess he is the one giving you cash nowadays.”

“Stop blabbering. What do you want?” I asked him.

His large belly betrayed him as he managed to sit beside me while a heavy groan left his mouth. “Now, are you in the position to ask me what I want?”

“I guess I am.” I waggled an eyebrow.

“Fine, I need you to do one thing for me, okay? Speak the truth and you may be free.”

“Truth? I have no truth to tell you.” I replied sharply.

“Did you kill my brother or not?” He questioned.

That's it. I have had enough of this nonsense. Whatever wants to happen should happen. It is better I set things straight onwards.

“I killed him.” I bursted. “Yes, I killed him. What are you going to do about it? File a case against me?”

“Finally, you admitted!!!” He said aloud and clapped his hands joyously.

I pointed my fingers at him. “You should be thankful to me that I killed your brother. Now you are the owner of the club house.”

He smiled provocatively before he stomped his feet on the concrete floor. He stood up from the chair and dipped his hands into his pocket. His hands came out with bundles of cash with him.

My face glowed with warmth as I saw the money.

“This money is for the work you did. I added twenty thousand dollars extra for killing my brother. Baby, you are a sweetheart.”

He handed over the money to me before he disappeared. My mind quickly raised with a lot of questions.

Should I escape with the money? What about the antidote? I can get it from my previous spy agency but wouldn't it come with a cost? Moreover, it would be better if I remained with Francesco and do little jobs for him than to go back to that life of hell.

Coupled with my thoughts, my phone rang. I picked up the call without looking at who it was.

“Damsel, where are you?” Francesco's cold voice raised in a questioning tone from the other end.

“I excused myself to get some fresh air. I will join you shortly.” I replied and found my way back to the restaurant.

As I arrived in front of the restaurant, Francesco was there with his men. He didn't even bother to throw a glance at me before he commanded his men to get into the car which he followed.

I followed suit but he shut the door before I could get into the car. My expression turned unexplainable as I looked at him with questions in my mind.

Didn’t he just call me back?

He slowly lowered the window of the back seat. Then, he directed his gaze at me before he added fuel to the situation.

“I better not get home before you.” His eyes darkened and his expression turned dangerous, hinting at the impending danger ahead of me.

Confusion clouded my eyes but I knew better than to provoke Francesco. Quickly, I stopped a taxi to find my way home.

“Please drive faster.” I told the driver from the back seat that I was sitting as my heart couldn't stop beating like a freight train while we approached Francesco's mansion.

As the driver pulled up in front of the mansion, I ran into the gate.

“Fuck shit! Hey! Bitch… you didn't pay for the ride.” The taxi driver yelled.

I felt like I was drowning in a sea of uncertainty but ran back to pay him his money before I rushed into the building.

The house has an eerie silence. I held onto my chest as the hardened beat switched to a more slow one.

I'm spent. Really spent. I wondered if this was how I would spend the rest of my life — Trapped in a gilded cage by Francesco and trying to outwit Marshall and his men.

When I worked as a spy then, I was courageous, smart, intelligent, and stubborn. No one dares to mess with me but now I'm just a thin line between the men's tug of war.

I scratched my head when my phone rang again. I picked it up only to see it was Francesco calling.

“Hello.” I said, after I picked the call.

He roared a laughter before he replied. “You know… it was worth watching you run all the way home.” He sighed. “You have lost almost all your abilities. I think it is high time I re-train you again, Damsel. Anyway, check your messaging app. Good luck.”

I'm sure there is a kind of feeling he must have gotten by making me feel that bad. Such a cruel idiot!

I finally opened my messaging app. What I saw is very unhealthy.

There it was… a video of Francesco and his men butchering different men. I shut my eyes before I glanced at my phone again.

This time, Francesco had a blood stained knife and before I realized what he had in mind, he inserted the knife into his mouth and licked it clean.

A shudder ran down my spine and my eyes narrowed in distaste.

Which family has he slaughtered again? And what more trouble will he bring to our lives?

He hails from South Africa and he owns Khumalo Enterprises.” I read out the result from the laptop's screen as I and Francesco both had our gazes fixed on the man's profile. Hacking into different systems to get into his real profile was quite stressful but thanks to my knowledge and skills, I overcame that. For Francesco to have asked me to look into Vince's profile, it could only mean one thing — he wants him dead and nothing more. “Why are we looking into his profile?” I asked, breaking the silence. Francesco heaved a sigh and sank his back into the sofa. He stretched his legs on the table, almost knocking the laptop from my lap. Then he crossed his legs and used his gestures to tell me he needed some wine. If only I could add poison into it. I served some wine which was already kept on the table in a

Just in case you can also get his family, take them all. But note this, I need them all alive.” Francesco dictated shortly after we got off the car a few metres from Khumalo’s home. Swiftly, we charged towards the building and hid behind the flowers close to the wall. “I didn't expect them to be this much. What do we do?” Francesco said after we saw about thirty men guarding the entrance of the house. “Does he know we will come?” I asked in a low tone. “I doubt. If he knew, he wouldn't have waited for us to come. My informants must have missed a step in their investigation.” Francesco retorted, his voice slightly filled with annoyance. “We stick to the plan.” Bullet whispered from behind before she jumped into the compound and clashed with the guards. Marshall had an outburst after he clearly instructed his men to kidnap Brinda however they couldn't. He wanted to use her as a pawn to get Francesco to subject to his clutches. “And you?” Marshall turned sharply to the other man. The man shook his head and stretched his arms to Marshall, pleading. “You deserve death.” Marshall predicted before he shot the man in the head too. The man let out a loud cry before he dropped dead. The third man in the room quietly went on his knees. “Don… I will get her next time. Right from this minute, I will search for her.” Marshall smirked before he shot the man in the chest and it missed no way to his heart. “I don't give second chances as I'm not a fan of it.” He retired to his sofa and crossed his legs over the center table. “Scar!” A few

My heart raced fast as I shoved the last piece of my mother's most loved item into the backpack in my left hand. I was still in the middle of thinking of whether I should take it along, leave it or toss it somewhere Francesco would find it easily when I heard a loud bang outside. No one needed to tell me.I’ve got company.I need to escape. As fast as possible. I dumped the safe into the backpack, zipped it and hid behind the kitchen’s door.
