AMY

"Marry me" Mr. Billionaire suddenly came with the most captivating smile I'd ever seen in my life.

But it wasn't that which got me dumbfounded but his ridiculous request of which now that I thought about it, sounded more like a command.

"What?" "I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm dead serious Amy" he came and boy did I like the way my name sounded in his heavenly deep and refined voice.

Oh God, what was happening to me? I didn't like this at all. I couldn't possibly be drooling over this bigheaded bastard, focus Amy.

"Bu-But I-I can't just marry you, it doesn't work like that. You've got to at least know someone for a while first to want to marry them. And asides that, it being you, I dunno if I can go into such with you."

"Why? Because a lowly girl such as yourself just can't fathom the possibility of getting married to a billionaire demigod such as myself?" Mr. Billionaire asked rather proudly with a chuckle at the end and I rolled my eyes at his spiked ego.

"No, because I can't stand you" I suddenly mentioned and just like my words were a sharp sword, his annoying yet knee buckling smile got cut off bringing a sly one to my face.

"Hey, you're not exactly Megan Fox either. You're not my type y'know." "Bastard" I thought.

"And it's not like we'd be really or permanently married, it's a short-term contract, just until I get my inheritance though. Hopefully grandpa likes and trusts you enough" he stated.

"Wait, why your grandpa?" I then gasped with wide eyes. "Is he the one you're asking I get married to?"

Mr. Billionaire then gave me a confused look, "You're not really as smart as you look huh?" He came and I became offended.

"What exactly do you want from me Mister?" "Look, I'm the heir to my grandfather's wealth but I can only get it all on one condition, that I get married and it has to be soon too.

God knows that I'm not ready for that shit and I don't think I'll ever be. But I need someone to show to my grandfather" he seriously opened up to me.

I shrugged, "So why me? Why not one of your numerous high class girlfriends who'd probably be happy to do this for you even without offering them any money?" I asked.

"I want his approval, it's not just about getting married but to whom I get married. You seem like the kinda girl he'll approve of."

"Why?" I asked with a raised brow.

"I can't explain it but what you need to understand is that, you're different Amy" Mr. Billionaire replied with so much meaning as he looked into my eyes and I immediately got weak in the knees.

No, I couldn't let this man affect me like this. Yes he was beautiful, but he was a bigheaded jerk and that I didn't fancy.

I also wondered if I should go along with this ridiculous arrangement.

Yes I needed money to sort out my many outstanding expenses but that didn't mean I had to involve myself with whatever that came.

That was when I caught his pleading eyes and I exhaled, "How much are you offering?"

"How much do you want?" He asked and I looked at him with wide eyes wondering if he was actually serious.

"Hmmm... 10 million dollars?" I came out of curiosity.

"Alright, great and I'll add more to that if you do a really good job at convincing my grandfather" Mr. Billionaire said with a glad smile and I was in awe.

Was he really gonna give me 10 million dollars just like that?

"Yo-You... You're serious? I... I get to have that much money?" I asked, feeling like I was in a dream.

Mr. Billionaire laughed handsomely and I saw myself in heaven.

"10 million dollars? That's not money, but I could see why such an amount would seem so much to you though."

"And I was brought back to earth by jerkules" I thought.

"Anyway, we've got a deal right?" Mr. Billionaire came, stretching his hand forward for a handshake.

I looked at it for a little while still contemplating on what I was about to get into.

"C'mon, you can't possibly be thinking on going back on this now. It's a deal, right miss Amy" he asked with an expectant look and I exhaled.

"Deal" I replied shaking his hand and boy was his grip strong.

Feeling that strong, calloused hand on mine, I didn't mind having that running down my body and just then did I realize I had to stop myself.

God, why the heck was I thinking such? I bit my lower lip feeling so disappointed in myself.

"Great, so I'll get the contract ready and we'll meet up tomorrow to discuss everything. I'll put a call through to you so have a nice day, Mrs. Carter" Mr. Billionaire came with a smile as he winked and began on his way out.

"Wait, you didn't even get my..." Before I could finish, he'd already left as the door could be heard closing shut with the bell jingling.

"...number" I completed my statement and just then I heard a moan.

"Oh no, Wilma are you okay?" I came as I rushed to her, remembering that my friend had been passed out on the floor all this time.

"Mmmm... Wh-What happened?" She asked weakly as I tried getting her up.

"You passed out, twice" I replied as I succeeded in getting her up to the chair to sit.

"Man, I had this weird dream..." "Where Josh Carter came in here? Yeah that wasn't a dream and please don't pass out again" I informed Wilma.

"Oh my God! That's awesome! But shit I couldn't even get a picture, how would anyone believe me if I told them?" Wilma came worriedly.

"That should be the least of your worries now because you would not believe what he asked of me?

He asked me to marry him and he's offering me 10 million dollars to do it."

"Oh shit!" Wilma came jumping off her seat as her eyes widened. "You're fucking with me right?"

"Nope, I swear this is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me in the entire 24 years of my life" I stated, still feeling like I was in a dream.

"Weirdest? Talk about the best thing. Why the hell would he do that?"

"Something about getting married to get his inheritance and I just happen to be the kinda girl his grandfather would like.

He's offering me 10 million dollars Wilma, do you know what that means?" I brought up, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her as I spoke.

"Shit, your life's finally gonna turn around for the better. You're gonna be rich and best of all, Josh Carter's woman" Wilma came, daydreaming.

"Ew, I'm not gonna be anybody's woman, especially not that jerk's. The whole thing's a fraud, a ploy to get his inheritance so don't even bother thinking that far.

Besides, all I'm interested in is the money" I stated genuinely.

"Yeah, that's what you think and soon you wouldn't even know when you'd fallen for him. It's always like that."

"Yeah well not in my case okay Wilma? I just wanna get this whole thing over and done with" I came with all certainty. I? Fall in Love with Mr. Billionaire? Yeah right. I scoffed at that thought.

"Anyway, so how're you guys gonna start off things? When are you getting the money?"

"We'll be meeting up tomorrow to discuss everything and sign the contract, maybe I'll be getting the money by then" I replied.

"That's awesome. Wow, I can't believe this is actually happening. My best friend's gonna be a millionaire and in some kinda marriage with Josh Carter.

See, I told you things would be good" Wilma said gladly and even though I was excited about the money, I couldn't help but have mixed feelings concerning this whole arrangement.

ELIZABETH

My driver opened up the car door to the backseat where I sat and I stepped out gracefully.

I looked over at my son's achievements over the years and though he was doing well in his field, all this still wouldn't have been made possible if I weren't smart enough to have gotten myself into the Carter family.

And I just couldn't wait for my son and I to finally have it all, though at the expense of Josh whom was in the way.

That was why I had to make sure we were one step ahead in the game.

As I walked further and into the luxurious house, I thought about my late husband, Dylan Carter and how we both ended up married up until his demise.

We were actually in a secret affair. Then when I got pregnant with Spencer, on my intention though and stood on my refusal to get rid of the pregnancy, Dylan began avoiding me.

Since things didn't seem to be working out the way I planned and before he tried anything stupid due to his threats, I decided to go for plan B.

I showed up before his family revealing it all to them and they had no choice but to take me in.

I smiled remembering his first wife, Stephanie Carter's disappointed and pained face, but she had no other choice than go along with Monroe Carter's decision of Dylan getting married to me so as to save the family name.

As of that time, Josh had already been born and was just a year old.

I didn't care if I was ruining a home, all I cared about was getting out of the shit hole that I was in and thankfully I succeeded.

Now, I was living a better life and I wouldn't let anything or anyone, take away all I'd worked so hard for, not even that silly miscreant, Josh who got everything handed to him on a platter of gold.

Oh how I hated that boy, Stephanie and Monroe Carter.

Dylan was already dead so there was no use hating a dead man, though I hated that bastard while he was alive because he always gave his attention to damn Stephanie and her son, way more than he did to me or at least Spencer, whom was his own flesh and blood as was Josh.

As for that deadweight, Monroe Carter. I had to result to endless kissing up to that old man just so we could be considered by him.

When Dylan died a few years ago, Stephanie fell ill and he resulted in his present predicament being that he couldn't handle his son's death as an old man, and had not one of his family to be with him and look after him.

Not even Josh, whom didn't seem to care and was out gallivanting about.

I made sure to be there for Monroe Carter.

But at the end of the day, he still chose to give everything off to that ungrateful and lousy idiot, choosing him over my son and I even after proving to that old man our worth.

But it was fine, I wasn't one to back down from a challenge, especially when I've gotten so far.

At least I knew what Monroe wanted from Josh, I knew the kinda game Josh would play and I was gonna make him loose this one.

I was now walking down the hallway leading to Spencer's bedroom, the echoes of my heels following after me.

I didn't think he needed to know if I was coming, I was his mother and I had the right to see my son as I pleased.

I finally got to his bedroom door and something was off, with what I heard I quickly opened it up barging in and what I saw had me wide eyed and sickened to my stomach.
