Isadora's eyes bared open as she took in a short sharp breath. She had accidentally knocked herself out... by hitting her head on the wall to avoid being forcefully fed spoils of unknown origins.
Heavy chains hung her wrists above her head, arms stretched to the side weighed over her dirty body spotted with dried blood. The cold hard floor made the entirety of her lower body ache, being in the W-sitting position for so long.
She mapped out her surroundings in foreign darkness, looking relieved to be devoid of company at the moment.
Isadora has been kept captive in this room for days now… about two weeks, if her Intuition was correct. Only checked on once a day to be fed.
No matter how she screamed, cursed, or struggled for a release, she never got a single word from her ever-changing attendants, only looks engulfed with disgust and hate… a lot of it. As though only a thin thread stopped her visitors from snapping her neck as soon as they set eyes on her.
She wasn't surprised by this. There were many reasons a woman like herself would be kidnapped… reasons she had tried so hard to disassociate from COMPLETELY but from her present situation it was evident her methods had not worked.
Who had ordered her kidnap? The man who had cut her off with the coldest gaze whilst she resisted in the very moment of being caught, chained, and placed on an animal metal choker, clung tightly to her neck. His eyes piercing through hers as he spoke in a deep baritone voice.
You are mine now. Don't think of escaping.
Remembering that scene made a shiver run down Isadora's spine. The same thoughts spiraled in her mind for the thousandth time.
Who was he? What did she have to do with him? She had been kept in this dark ruin for many days, just what was he preparing to do with her?
She was at the brink of going feral crazy being treated as such for some unknown reason. Besides being kept in dark solitude for days, ignored when she spoke, and being feed and injected some substances from time to time, there was no torture, interrogations, reciprocated dialogue... NOTHING.
Unfortunately, she did not have much time to ruminate over these thoughts. From a distance, she could faintly hear heavy steps approaching, growing louder by the moment. Soon, it came to a stop and the sound of opening metal bars took over.
Unwilling to go through the process of being fed again, Isadora feigned unconsciousness. Hopefully whoever was coming in would see her state and go back to the pits of hell they had come from.
One second bled onto a minute and there had been no movements, the area was pin-drop silent, her own breaths being an anomaly in its midst.
She peeked subtly.
Although Isadora couldn't see clearly in the dark room, she could feel a stifling presence with her. It felt so incompatible that it made her skin crawl in terror. She had experienced this feeling once before. It was him!
The masked figure approached her, each step awakening an uneasy feeling in Isadora. It stopped right in front of her pathetic state, and the room resumed silence once more. One second, three passed and nothing happened.
Daring to be a bit relieved, Isadora felt a sharp pain transcend through her mouth cavity and down her neck forcing her eyes open from the ache. The bastard had grabbed her roughly by the chin.
"There is no need to pretend to be unconscious. I had seen you awake already. Besides that, your acting is terrible" He groaned.
He nudged his head to his side letting a small hidden camera leak into Isadora's view.
Isadora cursed inwardly, she had only played herself just now. She struggled her best to keep her eyes on the crimson gaze of her captor, trying her best to imitate a fearless look.
This was a game of confrontation, she must not show weakness.
"Heh" Her new company let out a grunt of displeasure.
He hated this look she had. A look like she had everything under control, a look like everything was playing out how she wanted. A look her father perfected.
He squeezed her jaw tightly in his iron-like arms, "I heard you've been uncooperative. Did you forget the kind of situation you are in?!"
Isadora lets out a toothy grin, her eyes watered from the sides failing to drop, her body trembling with bitterness, "Who are you? What the fuck do you want from me, you bastard?!"
As soon as these words escaped her mouth a current of electricity possessed her body.
It felt like her brains were melting, her limbs were melting, every part of her body stung simultaneously.
"Arggh!" Isadora yelled in pain as her body went limp, owing her straight posture to her assaulter who still held her up firmly by the chin.
"No one who had spoken to me in such a way had seen the light of a new day. You won't be the first." He asserted with darkened eyes, suddenly Isadora shivered as though the room temperature had dropped many degrees.
She tried to speak but her vocal cords had given up at that moment a squeak rolled out pitifully making her skin crawl. She hated being in a helpless position. She hated this person in the room and she hated herself the most for being so weak.
The man did not look satisfied seeing Isadora already this low at the moment, this was not enough. It would never be enough, not now, not in the future, even if she is crushed to dust. But for now, he will make good use of what he's got.
"Be obedient" He growled, a command more than an advice.
He lets go of her and her face instantly meets the cold floor. Unable to have a good view of the man, Isadora's breath quickens in apprehension.
"Flavia Isadora Pedro," He called out, Isadora's body went stiff in reaction.
Flavia… it's been many years since she's been addressed by that name and it was for a good reason. Just who was this man?
He circled round her like a vulture able to see the dead-end of its prey, after much struggle.
"To think that geezer had a carbon copy of a child stashed up somewhere..." His tone rolled off more depreciating than sentimental.
"W-what?" Isadora found herself muttering seconds after barely being able to kneel upright.
A hand gripped the tangly locks of Isadora's head drawing her gaze upward.
"Never fucking interrupt me bitch!"
Isadora unconsciously clamped her mouth shut on his command.
He felt for her trembling face with a finger, unsmiling, "Wanna know what's happening this much? You, Flavia, are going to pay a lifetime debt on your name to the Black Saints. "
Isadora stifled a gasp. The Black Saints were currently the number one, of the three most notorious mafia famiglia empires in all of Italy.
If that was right… she trembles… then does that mean she has crossed paths with Vincent Antonio Fernandez the Mafia boss of the Black Saint Empire.
Dubbed 'The bloodthirsty Don', Vincent, the first son of the Fernandez, had climbed up the ranks of the Mafia underworld overwhelmingly fast in the span of five months. Having a vast amount of territory to himself upon his sudden comeback after being missing for many years. The road to his success was saturated in red and the screams of his victims.
He was a name forbidden to be spoken, a monster never to be encountered and an emotionless killer never to be angered.
A harsh mist of dread crawled up Isadora's back - Fear.
She was afraid of this man.
"Heh, of all of 'them' it had to be you."Isadora soliloquized, used to her rotten luck.
"Funny I'm quite sure my tabs are in check," She croaked, her tone taking a plangent route. "I have no business with the Black Saints. More importantly, I absolutely have no business with the Mafia!"
"Daughter of Lance Martinez Pedro…"
Isadora flinched on the mention of this name, Vincent noticed. His face whipped up a disturbing smile.
"You have absolutely everything to do with the Mafia, Flavia and your sins runneth over the heavens."
Her jaw tightened but she managed to force words out of it, repeating the same question but this time with less vigor, "What do you want from me?"
"The Boss of the Red Crescent died… much to my dismay" Vincent ran a finger through the sharp side of a small dagger, which seemed to have appeared from nowhere.
He glanced at the pathetic female on the ground, she held no reaction to his words, after a second the news seemed to have sunk into her.
Isadora's blood-stained lips tilt to form a small smile, "Why should it matter to me if he is dead?"
Vincent grimaced, as expected, like father-like daughter. A daughter who enjoys hearing news about the death of her own father, He had predicted what kind of woman Isadora was.
Deceitful.
"An interesting reaction, I wonder how I, a TS child of his, should take it," Vincent said, his tone had gone dangerously low and his gaze zeroed on her.
Chills.
This was the perfect word to describe what Isadora was feeling right now.
"No!"
She gasped in realization. Her family name, the debt, a TS sibling. They should all be dead, It couldn't be, it should not be like this!…
"No, fuck no!" She cried out, her arms rattling in its chains.
"That has nothing to do with me! I am washed clean from the Mafia!"
"Seeing you like this is a bit pleasing to the eye," Vincent said in all honesty,
He drew the dagger to her cheeks, its silvery shine reflected in her eyes, "Do you now understand your situation?"
Isadora fails to speak.
Slowly he drags the dagger to her neck, applying a bit more pressure, an atom more would surely break through her skin.
"Why are you so quiet, a moment ago weren't you so energized where did all that go?"
"You are a psycho." Isadora managed to whisper.
"Wrong choice of words."
With a swift move, he slits her left cheek at a calculated angle. Blood drips down the open wound staining the immaculate silver weapon. Simultaneously, Vincent' strong arms tore through Isadora's worn-out clothing grabbing onto the left of her large bust.
"Hnnng~" Isadora winces from the sudden move, a new channel of pain courses through her body.
Vincent squeezed harder his dagger scaling through Isadora's collarbone, taking on this act, the entirety of his eyes filled with malice, doused in hatred.
"Please stop…" She squeaks in a hoarse tone, failing to reach the ears of Vincent.
"To repay your debts, you belong to me, your body belongs to me. If I say breath, you breathe, If I say cease breathing you do just that. Fucking eat dog shit and you obey!"
"You're mine, all mine. Mine to use and discard! - Tu sei mio, tutto mio. Il mio da usare e scartare!" Vincent breathed into her ears.
"I'd rather die than be subjected to the Mafia again." Isadora asserted through gnashed teeth.
Vincent slashed the other side of Isadora's face at the same angle. "Foolish people beget foolish desires. Born into the Mafia, die in the Mafia, no one can ever get clean from it. It's a birth essence. It's life force. And you aren't an exception."
He lets go of her boob taking hold of her chin once more, "You are mine. Your life and death are in my hands what makes you think you can die so easily. This is even a worse possibility as opposed to leaving the Mafia."
"Anyways."
Vincent snaked his hands to her neck and grabbed it, lifting her entire body off the floor several inches high.
"If you love to tango with death I shall help with that."
Isadora's face turned pale, her legs kicked in vain, and her arms were caused to rattle in their chains as she choked for air. The merciless glint in Vincent' eyes didn't seem like he was going to stop soon.
He slammed her in full length against the adjacent wall.
Vincent cocked his head to the side, holding a full smile, "Perhaps I should send you and the one in the elderly home on the same path today."
Isadora's eyes widened, this time she looked more pissed than afraid. In seconds a ball of warm spittle landed on Vincent's face, "Don't drag Giana into this. This is between you and I!"
Faced with the expression she wore, Vincent felt the need to scratch her face off. He had released her neck earlier to wipe his face.
"How foolish of you to reveal a weakness impulsively. Now I want her life even more."
"You….!" Isadora found herself screaming.
Giana is Isadora's number 1, the only thing she cares about in the world.
Giana was Isadora's acknowledged mother.
Giana always does her best to protect Isadora.
Giana was a weakness.
Giana loves Isadora.
Giana would stake her life for Isadora.
Giana has met many near-death situations for It Isadora's sake.
Giana was a weakness.
Giana is all Isadora has.
Giana is a good person.
Isadora isn't a good person.
Giana does not deserve a daughter like Isadora.
Giana was a weakness.
Isadora can't afford Giana.
Isadora can't afford having weaknesses.
All weaknesses had to go.
Giana needs to go.
Isadora looked up to this man with a bitter mind, bitter heart, and all five senses had turned sour. She smiled, alas she couldn't do it, "What a pathetic attempt at a threat? Who cares if an old woman dies?"
"I'd be glad to send you off with her once I'm done with you, since that's the case. Don't you think that's a good idea, hmm? That honor you hold so dearly as the daughter of a Pedro shall be shredded." He arched an eyebrow in sardonic inquiry.
Isadora found it difficult breathing, "Let her go. I'm the one you wanted, I won't resist anymore."
"And there is your mistake. You've forgotten that you are in no position to bargain here. Willing or not, I was never asking for your permission."
He took a thoughtful look at her and let out a sick smile, "I'd. Enjoy. Breaking. You. Inside. Out"
Isadora almost screamed in need to take her words back… he didn't mean that… no… no… anything but that
Vincent snapped his fingers and the metal doors opened. Not sparing the occupant another glance he left the room, orders rolled off his tongue immediately.
"Get her ready."
"Yes, Master." A lucid reply came through, from a person Isadora never noticed his presence.
"Bastard!" Isadora yelled, as it dawned on her that she had very well failed in this confrontation.
Just now, what was his goal by fishing up scenarios to rile her up?
Giana! What's going to happen to her?! This wasn't how she pictured this ending up.
"Ugh," Isadora let out an aggrieved sigh. She really hated her name Pedro.
It was a curse she couldn't get rid of. The name of the most powerful mafia empire was a burden she was forced to carry, now, she was solo bearing it all.
Father… the empire...
Bastards! They were all bastards!
Trigger Warning: Short account of SA below. I do not support these actions, on this count, it is essential to the plot. Three women walked into the room and a man stood by the door. With rattles and clacks, Isadora was freed from the chains that bound her and she slumped into the arms of another lady, too weak to hold herself up. Isadora heard a grunt and felt herself being taken up on a shoulder. Unable to keep track from a blank mind, the next thing she could decipher was being kept in a mass of water. "Hnng~" Isadora winced from the scrubbing done on her body. Although hazy, bit by bit she was becoming more aware of her surroundings. She vaguely heard a whisper, 'Don't resist and it won't hurt as much'. After the bath, she was clothed in a white nightdress and left to sit in a room. Isadora's fingers twitched with anxiety. She did not want this. Whatever was going to happen, she hated it. She should leave...escape! her mind screamed. Her fingernails dug into the palms of her
TWO WEEKS AGOBeep! Beep!! Beep!!!The alarm went off, somehow always sounding more serious than the previous. With the fluidity of a cat, Isadora slid on the oven mittens and released the muffins from the oven, transferring them into another stainless tray. It was almost burnt."This is what I get for trusting you to watch this while I shower Vallea'' Isadora pouted, referring to the young lady sitting across the television in the sitting room.Vallea jumped off the couch, striding into the kitchen immediately the delicious scent of freshly baked muffins hit her nose. "I have the attention span size of a pea when things are boring. You can't blame me for that."She said to justify her negligence.Isadora rolled her eyes. She blamed herself for having entrusted such a task to Vallea, while quite knowing her character a little too well, "Touche.""This smells good!" Vallea ogled the muffins eye wide."Don't touch it yet, it's hot!" Isadora swatted her hand away."Ouch!" Vallea retracted
It was the same energy, exactly how Isadora pictured it. The night club dubbed bar had flashing colorful lights, the smell of sweat formed under expensive perfumes, the strong energy of people who had only come here to forget about a thing or two and the seemingly endless supply of liquor as all too familiar it took control to not shudder in irritation. In all, Vallea's excitement was something she couldn't relate to. What was so special about being in a place just like any other bar but more overpriced with a let more pretentious crowd? It was Vallea's birthday, going with this for her sake should be simple enough. Isadora plastered on her most practiced smile, a move not even Vallea could see through, gushing over her surroundings, "Happy Birthday Vallea!"With her arms stretched out, she handed over a small branded paper bag to which her dear friend dug into immediately."Oh my gosh. You didn't have to, this is exactly what I wanted! How did you know?" Vallea smiled, impatiently o
Isadora looked up to meet the eyes of the man who had just spoke to her and the other beside him. The tall one who had a scar running across his cheek, looked at her with lust, his breath was musky no doubt he was high on cigarettes and the other who was much shorter looked very arrogant, his gaze was not much different from his partner. It's just some idiots, she thought, a bit relieved. Still, the feeling of danger lingered."Follow the bouncing ball, jackass. I'm not interested." Isadora scoffed, failing to give the attention they desired. To think she would relive the same old trick here. So much for classiness."What drink do you want? I'd pay so we can all relax faster." The shorter one spoke, as Isadora's words fell on deaf ears, he reached out to touch her hands which retracted immediately."Don't fucking touch me." She hissed, staring daggers at the high fool."Don't pretend like you aren't a harlot, pretty. Trust me you don't want to make things any difficult than it should
Isadora slowly regained consciousness to the feeling of the cold hard floor against her skin. The sickening scent of blood filtering into her nostrils pushed her further from her semi conscious state.Where was she?In a split second memories of her ordeal from leaving the red bar came flooding. She was caught by the third man in pursuit of her and he had knocked her unconscious. Has she been kidnapped?Isadora had her eyes slightly open to access her environment without being noticed."She is awake, boss." Someone announced."I can tell," came a grunt, "Fix her up."Two men approached Isadora in an attempt to hold her in a more suitable position. To leave so many openings that must have assumed she was docile."Idiots." Instantaneously Isadora got on her feet and had punched the nearest person so hard on the face, he contacted the ground immediately. The second who was much more alert now was less easier to handle. He swooped in to subdue her whilst she dealt with the first but she
END OF FLASHBACK"Dad please I'll be good… it hurts!""IT HURTS!"Her head thumped from a strong headache, her body spotted in cold sweat, and the hard pillow drenched in tears. Isadora woke up from her own screams. She huddled on the rough mattress, knees to her chest as she rocked back and forth whispering unintelligible words. Her brain still hasn't recovered from the shock, reality felt like an unending nightmare only this time from the bottomless pit of hell.Yesterday's experience snatched the delicate world she had created and protected herself in and crushed it into a million pieces. Isadora's lower body ached and burned unrelentingly but it was nothing compared to her bleeding mental state. The torturous memories she barely managed to suppress have broken out of its prison in a single night and replayed in an endless cycle. The day her father cried at her feet, under her six-year-old figure, and apologized profusely begging for forgiveness on things he was yet to do she had
"You can leave Mateo.""Yes Lord Vincent," He bowed in respect and left, closing the door behind him.Vincent sat across a large desk a few feet away from the door. It held piles of daunting paperwork. He seemed busy scribbling on some of it and at intervals stamping them.Isadora looked around the place. Much to her surprise, the room held many decorations in bright colors with the nostalgic aesthetic of a teenage boy's typical bedroom excluding shenanigans. The bedroom had two beds, one was large and as mighty as the owner himself, and the other layed low at the far corner of the bedroom, a sharp miserable contrast to the main bed Isadora looked at the lower bed, it was where he took her so roughly last name night. She shut her eyes close fighting the painful memory reminding herself of one thing. She must survive this place!"Kneel" He commanded.Plopping one leg after the other, Isadora obeyed silently. Hyper aware of the red button on the desk.Vincent stood from where he sat, a
The resounding clacks of heels on the floor commanded respect as it traveled into the mansion. The unsmiling woman in a red skin tight dress, perfect makeup, and hair that looks like it's never had a bad day, carried along with her an outstanding aura of authority and great beauty. She looked normal… sane and elegant compared to more than a year ago, when at first glance anyone could immediately detect how messed up she was up there. She no longer spoke to the air, no longer had bouts of unprovoked aggressive behavior, no longer curled up sobbing for hours, no longer addicted. She had managed to wipe all evidence of such past away, only her memory intact with the traumatizing experience.Still, none of those bothered her at the moment, right now something else makes her furious to the bone."Zeta!" She commanded the maid into her presence immediately after setting foot in the mansion."Mistress Sienna," Zeta hurried, hot on her heels to the call of her madam. "Good morning" She greet
On the hospital bed, Sienna’s eyes weakly fluttered open and her blurry vision took a moment to clear up. Her mind felt heavy and foggy, and it took a while to get her bearings. She emitted a deep, weary moan as she attempted sitting up, overcome by the fatigue that washed over her.“I wouldn’t move too much if I were you,” Mateo advised.Sienna’s gaze snapped to the source of his voice. Mateo was sitting on a chair right beside the edge of the bed with an unwavering gaze on her. She hadn’t noticed him before.“W-what’s going on?” She struggled to form words, still feeling groggy.“You fainted yesterday. You are in the infirmary now.”“Why would I be –“ Sienna’s mind recovered its sharpness in an instant. She finally remembered.“Oh no…. I need… I need to see lord Vincent now….I need…” Ignoring her deathly aching body, Sienna hastily hurried onto her feet, almost tripping in the process.“Sit the fuck down, now, Sienna!” Mateo commanded with striking authority, yet his voice remained
At the entrance of the Green Viper’s Mansion, a number of maids carefully but quickly stowed Sienna’s suitcases into her ride. They didn’t want to be present when she showed up, the past week plus had already put them through enough hell. The signature click-clack of Sienna’s heels could be heard as she walked towards the entrance from within. She moved with urgency in her steps and an impatient look on her face as she checked for the time on her smartphone.“Ugh, it’s almost noon and these imbeciles aren’t done loading up yet. Just like the system here, its people are also slow. How I miss Zeta!’ she groused under her breath.“Don’t tell me you’re going back to the Black Saints after you were clearly banned. It’s barely been two weeks already, do you have a death wish?” Neomi scoffed. Her voice scraped Sienna’s nerves like nails on a chalkboard, forcing her to stop in her tracks.Turning just her torso, Sienna glared at Neomi who met her gaze from the staircase landing. “Unlike you,
"Woah," Gianna sat up and cupped Isadora's face in her hands, "Is there anything wrong?" She asked worriedly, unused to Isadora being so affectionate.Isadora let out a small giggle, "No, I've just missed you.""Hmm" Gianna examined her body, "Are you sure? You've lost a bit of weight. Where have you been all these while? Your friend said you went on vacation. Is that true?""Slow down mom, one question at a time."Isadora shook her head."Yes, I'm fine and it's true, the stress was getting to me and I thought I should take advantage of the break and relax properly before school resumed." She lied.Only after her explanation did Gianna finally calm down, sighing in relief.Isadora dragged a chair and sat by her mother's bedside, smiling.Vincent really kept his word to keep Gianna out of their affairs if she complied. That, she was thankful for. She couldn't put Gianna through the stress of worrying about her, in her condition… she couldn't drag her back to that life.Gianna noticed th
Isadora had her back to Victor while he left. She gazed at the crumpled piece of paper in her hand and tossed it into the trash in an instant.Federigo saw this and sighed, "Don't be too upset Isadora, this is for your own good.""And who are you to tell me how to feel?" Isadora said hotly."I'm just following your father's wishes." He explained.Isadora scoffed, "If you haven't noticed, following that low life's commands isn't exactly my forte, is it?"Federigo didn't know what to say. He could see hatred blaze in the child's eyes each time his master, Lance was mentioned. If Lance could see this right now, he would be destroyed within. He couldn't tell her the truth now. He couldn't possibly explain how much her father loved her and never wished for things to play out like this. No… that would be too much to hear after all these years of pain.He could only say bitterly, "This isn't the way Lance wanted it to end.""Of course, it isn't." Isadora agreed sarcastically.Federigo led her
Isadora smoothly settled down at the new dorm. For dinner, she ordered takeout for all and left Echo and Nirvana in each other's company before retiring to her room. She spent the rest of the night researching and filling up updates on what she's missed in the past few months and her class schedule. The next morning, Isadora rose quite early with an ominous inkling for the day and boarded a cab out of the University's premises. It was a silent ride downtown. She had mixed feelings, willingly coming back to the one place she detested the most, somewhere that was supposed to be her home. Despite knowing that the sole cause of her hatred was dead, it didn't give her much peace. She's never really got to think about Lance's death and what it meant to her. He was gone, but it didn't feel like it. Even when she strove so much to be completely dissociated from him, his bloody legacy still found ways to influence her life, in some way or another.Somehow he's managed to make himself a major ch
"Great, you are here already!" Nirvana opened the door to the dorm, ushering Isadora in."You own quite the apartment, don't you?" Isadora commented, looking around the beautiful living space.Consisting of multiple private rooms sharing one living room, It was a place located in one of the most well-off housing areas in the school. She didn't expect to be placed in the same dorm as Nirvana. It seems she had become Nirvana's official bodyguard.Nirvana chuckled, "Just as much as the insufferable problems, there are perks that come with being born in a wealthy Famiglia," She hopped over to the mini bar at the corner and poured Isadora a glass of chilled water."Thanks," Isadora took a sip from the glass. The feel of the cold liquid in her mouth instantly melted all the tension that built up in her mind while coming here. Back to a place that she'd lost all hope on.After she received Vincent's orders yesterday, she proceeded to inform Felicity and Imelda about her pending departure. Th
After two days of rest, Vincent summoned Isadora to his side quite early in the morning. He made her stand beside his desk, which exposed a clear view of his confidential work while he penned down some words.Isadora took liberty to peer over his shoulders while he worked. She subconsciously thought he was very attractive in his serious working state. There was a soft knock at the door."Come in." Vincent permitted, routinely. The door opened, revealing Imelda's gentle figure."Good morning Lord Vincent. I want to know if you are in the mood to try anything today." She said with a tone of anticipation."No need." Came Vincent's firm voice. Not once did he take his eyes off his desk."Alright." Imelda released a sigh of defeat and proceeded to leave the room. One day he was alright and the next he wasn't. Vincent hadn't tasted a thing since the last time he ate. She was starting to get worried."Wait." Vincent's casual word made Imelda halt immediately. For the first time since she arr
Felicity looked crestfallen, facing Isadora's rejection. Her tone considerably lowered, "I thought you also felt it. Did I read it wrong? I'm sorry I shouldn't have -" "No! It's not you." Isadora grabbed Felicity's hands in hers, preventing her from saying anything else. She spoke, raw from her heart, "You are the most wonderful person I've ever met, Felicity." She glanced at Felicity's body, feeling a rush of desire, "Just… Wonderful." She looked Felicity in the eye, "And I do feel something for you - something I don't understand. I'm just not ready for all of this yet." Isadora explained, a bit overwhelmed. Felicity's doleful expression softened into a small smile. She looked very relieved, her eyes glued to the floor in embarrassment, "I was going crazy not acting on my feelings for a long time. I thought it would ruin our friendship." "Hey," Isadora held up Felicity's chin to meet her gaze. "Nothing can ever come between us. I won't let that happen." Felicity's heart raced at
"Mateo doesn't mind if you hang out with me in broad daylight?" Isadora was much more patient with Felicity now that she understood their dynamic.Felicity's smile instantly fell flat with a frown. Isadora perceived she had said something wrong. Did the two get into a fight?"He's too busy to notice." She replied curtly.Felicity brought Isadora down to her quarters, where Milia sat in the living room, holding an adorable toddler. She stood up to acknowledge them, "Mistress Felicity… Mi-miss Isadora?..."Milia looked very surprised. She never expected the maids' hot gossip this morning, that Isadora had survived the monster was indeed true."Can I have him?" Isadora reached for Lucas with a smile."Sure." Milia passed him to her.Lucas, who was usually very picky about who held him, readily bent his torso towards her.Once he settled in Isadora's arms, Milia stepped aside.Isadora sat beside Felicity on the couch and sat Lucas on her thighs. His bright blue eyes stared at Isadora with
