As we get to our lane our balls are already there that we always use. I go to the monitor and in put our information before we start. We don’t need the bumper pads so I tell Walker he is first. He walks up, grabs his ball and takes it to the lane. I watch as he does his little dance that he says is his good luck dance before rolling his ball down the lane. His ball rolls and rolls and rolls until it hits the middle pin knocking all but the two on the left side. He jumps up and down smiling. He is getting so good at this game. I am so proud of how smart and kind my little man is. I have tried my hardest to raise him right. He walks back over and grabs his ball again. He gets to the edge of the lane and slides over to the left a little before rolling his ball. It stays right at the edge making contact with the last two pins. I clap showing my support for him. He turns around grinning like the mad hatter and runs to me.“I did it mom! Did you see what I just did?” He asked clapping.“I d
I chuckle. “We have been coming here once or twice a week for the past two years. He’s very organized and detail oriented. He can see things in ways I have never seen before.” I told them as I finish tying Walkers shoe and standing up.I stand next to his chair and extend my hand. “Hi I’m Everleigh.”The first guy walks closer and grabs my hand and shakes it. “Blake.” He said then let go of my hand gesturing behind him. “This is my Brother Liam and his ma- uh, girlfriend Bailey.” I waved at them and said a little hello. He gestured to the woman beside him and said, “This is my girl Nora.”“Hello. I’m Everleigh and this is Walker.” I said putting a hand on his hair and ruffling it causing him to huff and cross his arms over his chest.“Mom!!” He whined swatting at my hand. “Stop you’re messing up my hair.”We all bust out laughing.“It was nice meeting y’all but we need to be going.”“It was nice meeting you too. We don’t see many like us around here. Hopefully we will run in to each o
Zayden It’s been five years since everything went to hell. Five years since my life changed and I became the ruthless leader everyone has heard about and not just rumors.FlashbackAfter the battle everything was in shambles. We lost Everleigh and couldn’t figure out where she went. No clues. No idea who did it or where they took her. After everything settled for the most part I inducted Ruby in to the pack.I asked her questions about who paid them to attack the pack and the reason behind it. She said a younger guy paid a lot for them to be a distraction because we had something that the person wanted. She didn’t know what but the amount they paid she wasn’t going to turn down as she was going to use it for her grandfather since he had been sick. They found him where she
I’m brought out of my flashback by my phone ringing.“Yes.” I said in a monotone voice as I put the phone to my ear.“Alpha.” Said the voice on the other end.“What’s the update?” I asked.“Sir, we found her.”I sit up straight as I hear this news. I couldn’t believe it. After this many years she has finally been found.“Where?” I demanded.“Georgia, Sir.” He said.“I thought we scouted all the packs there already.” I stated questioningly.“We did sir, but she wasn’t in a pack. We found her by accident last night in a human city.”“Did she see you? Sense you?” I asked cautiously.“No Alpha. We have been using the masking spray that Vor made for us.”“Great job Ty. You and your team keep up the great work and keep me updated of any changes. We will be th
No matter what I do I cannot get my mate out of my head. I have tried over the years but I just want her back and soon she will be. I hear a knock on my door before it opens revealing Grey. He walks in shutting the door behind him. He walks over to the chair sitting in front of my desk.“Hey Zay. Is everything ok?” He asked.“Yes. Want a drink?” I ask him as I get up and go to the corner by my desk and grab two whiskey glasses and pour some amber liquid in both of them.“Yes please. You said you have information?” He asked as I grabbed both glasses and walked back over to my desk placing his down in front of him before I retake my seat.“I do.” I said nodding them taking a gulp of my drink. He takes a gulp too before asking, “What information are we looking at?”“You know how we have been searching for her for a few years now and have had no hits at all? Pretty much like she w
Everleigh It’s been a week since our run in with the rogue group at the bowling alley. A week of getting to know them. Who they are, where they came from and why they became rogues. In such a short amount of time walker has claimed them as family. They have become his aunts and uncles. Blake, Nora, Liam and Bailey are some of the sweetest people I have ever met and their treatment from the pack that caused them to go rogue is ludicrous. I was treated horribly but what they went through made my life seem like rainbows and unicorns.Tonight, they are coming over for dinner and I’m making lasagna with garlic toast. I premade the lasagna so all I have to do is pop it in the oven then make the toast. Walker is so excited. He is acting like he hasn’t seen them in years when in fact it was just two days ago when they were last here. After our first initial run in at the bowling alley we have talked or video cha
My last call though I was dreading as soon as I seen the name. Peter and Lacy Milstead. The Alpha and Luna of a nearby pack. Even though I was technically a rogue they didn’t treat me as such but they still treated me like I was way beneath them.I didn’t tell them my story when they first came across me but I told them I did run from a bad situation and pose no threat to those humans around me.The phone rang twice before it was picked up by a sickly-sweet voice.“Hello.” Said the voice on the other end.“Hello, Mrs. Milstead this is Everleigh calling regarding your scheduled photo shoot.”“Hello dear. What seems to be the problem?” She asked worriedly.“There has been a slight change in schedule planning and I have a family issue I need to resolve so I will be taking off the next two weeks starting this next Monday.”“Oh no dear. I hope all is okay.”&ldq
“Get out Desi. I will not nor will I ever help you after everything. Yes it’s in the past but it is where it will stay.” I said pointing to the door no listening to a word she said. She grabs a Kleenex out of the box on the counter and dabs at her eyes. She sniffles and digs in her bag again. “If you change your mind here is my card and contact information. Just call my cell and I will pick up. I am sorry for all that I have done and wish I could change it but it’s done.”Not saying a word, I watched as she walked out my studio door. I lock the door behind her and pull out my cell calling Sophia.“I’ll be over in just a little bit to get Walker. I just need to straighten up first.” I said as soon as she answered.“Take all the time you need love.”“Thanks Soph. I really appreciate you.” I tell her before hanging up.I sit in my chair for twenty minutes trying to ge
