LAURA

“I'm not mean!” Agatha fired back at me. I shut my eyes and opened them again, letting out a soft sigh.

“Okay.” I replied. I wasn't in the mood to get on Agatha's bad side. Likewise, I knew she had something against me right from the very first day she interviewed me.

“Tell me, how much did my brother pay you to do this?” She retorted, folding her hands under her boobs.

I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ears as I replied. “What do you mean?”

Agatha stared at me from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet and back at my face. Her gazes were even colder and my legs throbbed on the floor.

“How much did he pay you for this marriage? I can just send you double of it, and you leave him alone!”

“He didn't p-pay me anything,” I replied.

“Now I'm warning you, Laura or whatsoever you call yourself. I'll make sure you live a miserable life if you can't leave this house. You ruined my brother! You ruined him at the eyes of the public!” Agatha yelled at me with bitterness in her
