You Have Visitors

Gonzalo woke up the next morning, turning on the bed to the sound of birds chirping outside. He struggled to open his eyes as the sun's rays fell on his face through the parted curtains, prickling his skin slightly.

He reached out to touch the bed, expecting to find River, but she wasn't there. His eyes finally jolted open as he sat up groggily. He looked around the room, but still couldn't find her. His mind went through so many possibilities all at once.
