The pack’s warriors just had to come to ruin their moment. River wasn't so surprised though. She was used to having her happy moments cut tragically short.

But then again, she needed to be cut some slack, right? Having to run like a fugitive was not what she wished for Rain, especially with what she had just been through. She was only glad that Rain didn't seem to have memories from the witches’ attack.

It would have been too traumatic for now. But even this had left River at a spot where she needed to decide on the best way to tell Rain about everything. Perhaps, she would have no choice but to cook up some white lies when Rain came questioning.

For now, she needed to shield her daughter from all the woes they were made to be subjected to. Later, they would cross the right bridges when it got to the point.

It was a blessing that Gonzalo was with them now. How else would they have found shelter in Sofia’s house if it wasn't for him? He truly was a blessing. And no
