Naham thought he was still dreaming since he wasn't waking up in pain, and everything was soft and comfortable. There seems to be a lot of confusion with Atticus's parents. A lot of people think Niles was his dad, and he was not. At least not his biological dad. Niles did not come into the picture until Atticus was around 5. Atticus's mother died when he was 3 years old. (I initially couldn't remember how old Atticus was when she died so I had to look it up. I found it in chapter 54 of Harris's book) 2 years later the vampires came back and began attacking them so The Dragon King Mahan went to the alpha King for help. The alpha King sent his beta, Niles, along with a group of warriors to help. Nile and Mahan fell in love.
