Third Person's POV Coal sat on the bed with his phone open, replying to what seemed like endless emails. At least one was an email he’d been waiting for, and it showed that he aced his last exam, and his final exam was in a week. The Alpha is excited and can't wait to finally be done with school. When the bathroom door opened, Coal raised his head from his phone to see Nathan walking out of the bathroom while struggling to keep his pants up. Coal chuckled as he stood and approached his mate. Nathan blushed when Coal knelt in front of him and lifted his shirt. “Hold this,” Coal said. Nathan's stomach fluttered when Coal's fingers brushed against his stomach as he untied the sweatpants before pulling them tighter and tying them. Coal gently pulled the shirt from Nathan's fingers and let it fall over his sweatpants. The Alpha chuckled when the shirt hung past his knees. “I suppose we'll need to take you back to the coven to pick up your clothes,” Coal said, and Nathan's eyes widened.
Third Person's POV The sound of Ezra screaming in agony rings out through the coven when Lexon's black mist begins to form in the foyer. Seconds later, Lexon and Aero appear with Evelyn and Grayson, who struggle to hold it together as they look at Ezra with three metal rods through his torso and one which missed his heart by a hair. The king could barely stand. There was so much poison coursing through his body he was barely conscious. If it wasn't for the excruciating pain keeping him awake, he would be out cold. “Damn it! We were due to get another supply of the antidote in a week. You idiots couldn't hold off for one more damn week, could you?!” Lexon scolded, and Ezra screamed at the top of his lungs when the Elder yanked the first rod from his stomach. The king had never felt so much pain before. With his vampire abilities practically non-existent, Ezra was feeling pain like a human would. Everyone looked up at the sound of feet rushing toward them. Ezra's eyes locked with Sil
Third Person's POV His sweet little voice hummed a delicate tune in the darkness. His fingers raked through the elder's hair, and he tried not to cry as he heard Nadja's heart slowing. “N-Nadja, w-wake up,” Roman said softly as he nudged the Elder. Tears flowed from the Omega's eyes when he received no response. “Nadja!” Roman said louder as he shook him and began sobbing. The loud sound of metal clinking was startling as someone began unlocking the big metal door. Roman squeezed his eyes closed when the lights flickered on. He squinted his eyes, hoping and praying they were bringing food for Nadja. Relief washed over the Omega when he saw a guard enter with a large tray of food in his hand. “W-wake up!” Roman said as he shook the Elder as hard as he could. “N-Nadja!... Please, w-wake up!”“Hey, what's going on?” The unfamiliar guard asked. The concern in his voice was shocking and something he wasn't used to. “H-he w-won’t wake up,” The guard unlocked Nadja's cell and set the
Third Person's POV Nadja and Roman startle at the sound of the door unlocking and flying open. The lights flicker on the ancient Elder's stomach drops. The sound of yelling echoes in the quiet dungeon as guards file in. A face the Elder hasn't seen in a while leads the guards toward them. “Let me go you assholes!” The guard yells before the wind is forced from his lungs when Luther's fist connects with his stomach. “Shut your fucking trap!” Luther roared before spinning and facing Nadja. “What do we have here? Not only did you feed the prisoners my food, you moved them near each other! What are we going to do about this?” Luther said as he turned and gripped the guard's chin. The guard yelled as he squeezed harder and dug his thumbnail into his cheek, drawing blood. Luther released his grip as he shoved the guard's head back before facing Nadja again. “So, you managed to corrupt one of my guards and get them to feed you my food. After all these years, I thought you knew better. I
Third Person's POV Coal paused in front of the door and looked down at his little mate. Not only could he see how nervous he was, but he swore he could feel it. The Alpha turned and tilted the Omega's head, forcing him to look at him. Coal slipped his hands between his long sandy blonde hair, which draped around his face, and placed them on his cheeks. “Relax, darling. My family is going to adore you! My pops might be a little overwhelming, but that's just because he will love you,” Coal said softly. Nathan's heart began racing in his chest when the Alpha leaned his face down toward him. His eyes closed, and a moment later, he felt lips pressing against his forehead. A small part of him was disappointed those lips weren't touching his own. “Come on, meet my family,” Coal said as he pushed the door open. As soon as the door opened, the sound of chaos filled their ears. Coal could hear Theo scolding Xavier and Vivian whining as the twins piled on top of her. The chaos was startling
Third Person's POV Nadja slowly released the guard's hand and wiped his face as he sat up. The elder leaned his head back against the bars and stared at the ceiling before a thought came to him. His head snapped in Roman's direction, and he quickly crawled across his cell and toward him. “Roman! I would never ask this of you, but it'll help us get out of here. Let me feed from you. If I drink enough blood, I'll be able to teleport us out of here and take you back to the coven,” Nadja said, hoping Roman had enough blood in him after eating the large meal earlier. Roman's eyes widened, and he gasped as he leaned away from the bars. “I would never take it from you without your permission. It's okay if you don't want to; you can say no. But if you say yes, and it's enough to give me my powers, which I believe it will be, I can have us out of here in 5 minutes. We'll both be free, Roman! They'll never hurt you again,” Roman looked toward the door before nodding and moving toward the ba
Third Person's POV Luke felt incredibly awkward with this man who claimed they were mates, sleeping on the couch in his parents' living room. Every time he was home, he couldn't escape his intense gaze. It caused his heart to palpitate and butterflies to dance in his stomach. Every time he sees the man, he wants to climb in his lap and bury his face and his neck… It was a strange feeling, and he didn't like it.Once he was certain Benjamin was in the bathroom, Luke snuck out of his room. He took that opportunity and sprinted down the hall before quickly leaving the apartment. The Omega didn't stop until he was banging on his best friend's door. Rose smiled as she opened the door and stepped back, allowing the Omega to burst inside their apartment. It's become a habit of Luke's for the past two weeks.Luke burst into Joey's room and shrieked before backing out and closing the door behind him. Rose looked down the hall in concern before she started giggling when she realized what happ
Third Person's POVRose gasped when the front door opened, and she saw her son in tears. “Joey! What's wrong, baby?” Rose asked as she jumped to her feet and ran to her son. She immediately noticed the way he was holding his right arm. As Luke explained what happened, Rose moved Joey's left hand away and gasped when she saw the large ugly bruise on his wrist. An angry growl vibrated behind Rose when Nick saw the large bruise on his son's arm. “That idiot thought he was in there trying to watch them. I don't know how he could be so stupid and thick-headed! He knows Joey is afraid of Alphas!” Luke said.Rose looked up when Nick stormed out the front door. She looked at Luke, whose eyes were wide. The Omega was tempted to follow Nick. He wouldn't mind watching someone put that big idiot in check, but he knew his best friend needed him, so he stayed. “Come on, let's get some ice on this,” Rose said as she guided her son to the couch. She quickly disappeared into the kitchen, grabbing i
Third Person's POV Darien stood in the closet, buttoning his shirt. His mind raced with all the different scenarios of things that could go wrong. He tried not to think of it but couldn't stop his thoughts from racing. What if they didn't like him? What if they hated the fact he was a submissive Alpha and thought he wasn't good enough for their brother? His thoughts spiraled out of control. He had just finished buttoning the last one and gasped when Wyatt suddenly appeared behind him. His strong chest crashed against his back as his arms quickly wrapped around him. Darien smiled as he tilted his head, giving his Alpha access to his neck, which he quickly accepted. Wyatt buried his face against his skin, nuzzling and kissing him.“You're right, maybe we shouldn't go. Maybe we should just lay in bed and snuggle all night. I'm having withdrawals; I need to drown myself in you,” Wyatt's voice was muffled with his lips pressed against his mate's neck. Darien's heart fluttered when the Al
Third Person's POV Grayson's laptop was long forgotten on the little table next to him. The Alpha lies on his side in the daybed, staring at his mate. He loves the Delta's smooth, pale skin and the way his dark, straight hair lies against his forehead. He loves how he chews on his lip while he reads and tilts his head when he doesn't understand something. He loves the time they are spending together, quietly sitting beside each other outside on the balcony, sharing the silence. “So… My job wouldn't be to fight for our people?” Sebastian's soft voice broke the silence. Grayson's heart swelled when he called them “our” people.“No. Your job as Luna is to make sure everyone who cannot fight gets to safety in the event of an attack. We have several bunkers. Normally, we use the two bunkers in the basement of the pack house. In extreme cases, we use the large one under the field beside the pack house, but we haven't used it in a long time. That one is big enough that everyone in the pack
Third Person's POV “I can't be a Luna; I'm just a Delta 3. All I know is how to be a pet. I don't even know how to be your mate,” Sebastian told Grayson before Ezra went to take down Luther. The book Sebastian was reading suddenly goes flying as Grayson grabs him from the sofa chair and falls back against the couch, wrapping him tightly in his arms. Sebastian laughs as Grayson buries his face in his neck, and his light stubble tickles his sensitive skin.Grayson's heart swells; Sebastian's laughter is music to his ears. He takes a deep breath in of the Delta 3's incredibly sweet scent, and his chest rumbles in satisfaction. The sound coming from his Alpha sends a shiver down Sebastian's spine. “I was studying,” Sebastian said, biting his lip when he felt Grayson's warm breath fan his neck. “It was taking too long! I feel neglected,” Grayson mumbled against his neck, and Sebastian's stomach fluttered. The Delta 3 pulled his head back and looked at Grayson. “I didn't mean to negl
Third Person's POV Ezra has been standing outside Lexon's door for several minutes, trying to get the courage to go in. He reaches up to knock on the door but pulls his hand back and exhales, letting his hand drop to his side. Ezra hangs his head as he turns to walk away, but the door suddenly opens. “Leaving so soon?” Lexon said, and Ezra slowly turned to face him. When Ezra looked at Lexon, he was relieved to see how well he looked. His skin looked completely normal, and his hair was just past his ears. “You look good,” Ezra said as he moved closer. He reached for Lexon's hair but paused when he saw Aero standing a few feet behind Lexon. “Come on in,” Lexon said as he stepped aside. Ezra swallowed before entering Lexon's room. When he entered the foyer, Aero turned and walked back into his brother's bedroom. Lexon nudged his head for Ezra to follow, and he did. As he entered the Elder’s bedroom, he found Jace sitting on the bed, watching a movie while crocheting. Jace looked
Third Person's POV Jace was concerned when Lexon slept the rest of the day, through the night, and into the following day.He was relieved when his brother-in-law knocked on the door late afternoon. Jace grabbed Aero's hand and quickly dragged him to their bed, where Lexon lay asleep. “Should I wake him? He hasn't woken up since he came home. I tried to give him blood, but he said he was too tired and needed a nap. That was yesterday! He hasn't woken up yet! Should I wake him?” Jace said as he tugged at his fingers, looking between his mate and brother-in-law. Aero wrapped his right arm around Jace and ruffled his hair.“He's okay. He was just exhausted. His body is working overtime to heal his body. Your skin is the largest organ in your body. He was burned from head to toe. 100% of his skin was burned off. I can tell the difference already. His skin is no longer transparent, and his hair is beginning to grow. See, look,” Aero said as he pointed to the stubble growing on Lexon's he
Third Person's POV Darien was excited but nervous. It was not only the first time he'd cooked in two years but also the first time he'd cooked for Wyatt. Wyatt's nose immediately flared as he entered the apartment. His eyes darted around as he closed the door and didn't stop until they landed on Darien. His eyes moved from Darien to the kitchen table, and his lips parted. For a moment, Wyatt is unable to move or speak. His lack of movement makes Darien even more nervous, and realizes he made a mistake. “I, I can make something else if you don't like spaghetti and meatballs. I, I should have asked you first if you liked it. I can whip something else up,” Darien said as he picked up his plate and Wyatt's. Wyatt was beside him instantly and took the plates from his hands. He set them down before grabbing Darien's waist with his left hand and pulling the smaller Alpha toward him. “I love spaghetti! I was just surprised that you did this for me. I wasn't expecting it,” Wyatt said soft
Third Person's POV Darien had a hard time falling asleep. He kept staring at the door and wishing Wyatt would walk through it. The minutes ticked by, and sleep refused to come. Darian glanced at the clock and decided maybe just a little peek would do. As quietly as he can, Darien pulls the blankets back and climbs out of bed. His sleep pants hang low on his waist, and his bare feet are silent against the wood floor as he walks down the hall. He pauses when he realizes the TV is on in the living room. But after a moment, he wonders if Wyatt fell asleep with it on. He didn't think he was watching TV; the sound was off. As quietly as he could, Darien walked into the living room. His heart raced, afraid of getting caught. He was relieved to find the Alpha fast asleep. His eyes were closed, and his lips were parted. He looked so peaceful, Darien thought as he stepped closer. He let out a quiet breath as he sat on the chair beside the couch. He put his elbows on his knees and rested his
Third Person's POV It felt so strange walking through town like a normal person again. It felt strange to be free. Somehow, the alpha next to him makes him forget how strange it is. The way his eyes sparkle with happiness as they walk hand in hand down the street. The way he opens the door for him, keeping his body between him and the road, showing chivalry, and making him feel special. It's something he never thought he would feel after what happened to him. He never thought anyone could possibly accept someone like him, but this man does. Wyatt does it so effortlessly. Darien smiles as Wyatt pulls him into another store. “What kind of art do you like?” Wyatt asked as he pulled him toward the wall of paintings “Maybe we can hang something behind the couch; what do you think?” Wyatt asked as he looked intently at the paintings, studying each one.“Um, I don't know. I think I like this one,” Darien said as he pointed to a large rectangular painting that would fit perfectly behind t
Third Person's POV Ezra stood in the bathroom with his hands against the counter, staring into the sink. Images flashed in his head of what he did to those he loved. Nadja warned him what the darkness could do, and he believed him, but he never thought it would happen to him. He thought he was stronger. He thought he could control it. Ezra found out the hard way that wasn't the case. He remembers recognizing them, but He also remembers thinking they were insignificant. Whatever love he felt for them was no longer there. They were below him and an annoyance that he wanted to get rid of. He remembers what it felt like to hold Nadja's throat in his hand. He felt so powerful holding the ancient life in the palm of his hands. He remembers what it felt like to want to kill him, but what hurts the most is the reason he dropped his flames in the first place: his father. It wasn't because his father made a connection and was close to bringing him back from the darkness; it was because he fel
