Chapter 7

We drove for hours, until Blake was too exhausted to drive anymore. We pulled off into a little grove of trees and Blake put his seat back as far as it would go and fell asleep. I stayed awake and kept watch. I had slept in the car earlier so I wasn't at all tired; and the thought of someone sneaking up on us was enough to keep me awake for days. 

Hours passed as I anxiously watched every direction around our car. Part of me wanted to wake Blake up and start moving again, but the other part of me wanted to let Blake rest as long as I could. The sun was just coming up when my cell phone rang. I nearly jumped out of my skin having forgot I even had it. I fished it out of my jacket pocket and looked at the display. 

"Chris!" I said excitedly. I answered the phone just as Blake woke up from the ringing.

"Chris? Is that you?" I asked nervously.

"Amberlee! Thank goddess!" Chris said on the other end. "Please tell me you are safe and far away from this tow
