Part 1: Chapter One: The Beginning that Broke Her

My name is Sapphire and I was training with the other warriors of the Moon Beast Pack. My long dark brown hair with natural Blond highlights that normally hung to my waist was now in a tight bun on the top of my head. My light blue eye and bright green eye sparkled as I quickly ducked under my opponent's arm as it swung at my face. I swung around and did a spinning back kick to Dravo’s chest, causing him to fly ten feet away and land with a thump on his ass.

“Damn Phire! That hurt!” Dravo yelled as he stood to his full seven feet to glare at me with bright green eyes that flickered to gold to let me know that his wolf wanted to come out and rip me to shreds. Dravo was built and tall. Roughly about three hundred pounds of hard muscle.  Being six foot, Dravo and I thought that we would be mates but no mate bond formed on my eighteenth birthday. He even knew about my secret and didn’t care.

“Sorry D! I didn’t think I hit you that hard.” I replied with a smirk and a shrug. Stretching my arms up, I removed my ponytail and folded my body in half. Loosening up my tired muscles and shaking my hair out before standing back up to my full height.

“Well you did you brat!” He mumbled under his breath.

“D, I’m sorry,!” I said as he walked over to me and I jumped on him and wrapped my arms around his neck and squeezed him into a tight hug. He hugged me back and then set me back down.

“You’ll be the death of me, Phire! And I haven’t found my mate yet.” He said as he laughed.

“Warrior Dravo and Warrior Sapphire! Report to the Alpha’s office in ten!” Beta Keith said through the mindlink.

“Race ya?” D asked.

“You’re on D-man!”

As we sprinted towards the pack house Dravo slowed down and started to sniff everything and his wolf started to growl.

“D? D?! Dravo?!!” I yelled trying to get his attention.

Dravo took off like a bat out of hell and ran straight to the pack house shifting in mid stride. He howled as he ran the last fifty feet. At the front of the pack house were two men and a woman.

The woman turned around and Dravo shifted back and pulled her to him as they both whispered mate.

The woman was about my height with fiery red hair and deep green eyes. She didn’t smell like a shifter though she did smell like magic. A witch? Supernaturals have never had interspecie mates. I smiled at the pair. I was happy for Dravo. He deserved his true mate.

“D! Stop hogging your mate and introduce me!” I grumbled as I walked up to the new mates.

“Phire! This is Meadra, Meadra this is my best friend Sapphire.” He said as he grabbed Meadra’s left hand.

We shook hands and talked for a little bit, then I excused myself to head to the Alpha’s office and knocked on the door.

“Alpha! Warrior Sapphire reporting!” I stated after knocking.

“Come on in Phire!”

Walking in I noticed that Alpha Logan, Luna Morgan, Beta Keith, and Beta Female Kelly were all there. I bowed my head in respect.

“Warrior Dravo will be late, he just met his mate at the front of the pack house.” I said when I looked back up.

“So, that means the Witch's new High Priestess was right. Seems we will lose three of our kind to the others.” Luna Morgan said to the Alpha and Beta pair.

“Luna?”

“Dravo was just the first. The Witch’s Seer had a vision that three wolves from the highest pack, ours, would be mated to the leaders of the world. We know that you are uncomfortable with a lot of things regarding mates and that’s why we wanted to speak to you both together, but we will have to just talk with you alone,” Luna Morgan said.

“What your Luna is trying to tell you is that Dravo, Maxia, and you, Sapphire, are those three wolves,” Alpha Logan said in a calm voice.

NO! My secret will be revealed! No male will want a female like me and no female would want a male like me either. I am both in one. I even have the same problem in wolf form that only a few in the pack knew about. Well a lot of them knew about it but no one cared here. This was my family. My parents were a part of a Triad that were the only ones that had a single Triad baby that lived.

I have two sisters, Emerald age seventeen and Nephrite age sixteen, and one brother, Zircon age twelve. I was the only true Triad child of all three of our parents.

“Sapphire. We are not trying to make you do something that you don’t want to do, but if you want to find your mate this is something you will have to do. The High Priestess and Dravo Darkfang will be going with you and Maxia Voltage and a few knights. We do hope that you will go with them and find where you are needed and belong,” Alpha Logan said as Luna Morgan came up to me and embraced me softly.

“Yes. I understand Alpha Logan. I will go and find my mate. I just hope that whoever my mate is, he or she will love me no matter what,” I replied back.

“Go pack and get ready. You leave tomorrow.”

With that, I bowed and walked out. I waved as I saw Dravo, Meadra, Maxia, and the two males that came with Meadra talking and getting along.

“Phire! Are you going with us?” Dravo yelled.

“Yep!”I yelled back. “Packing and saying goodbye. See you guys at breakfast!”

Walking to my parents house to say goodbye and then to my home to pack and eat dinner before turning in.

At my parents door I could hear my mom yelling at someone, I snickered, and knocked on the door. My little brother Zircon answered the door. He looked like our dad, Jagger, with blond hair and pale blue eyes. Emerald looked like our dad, Valkon, with dark brown hair and bright green eyes and Nephrite looked like our mom with light brown/blond hair and baby blue eyes.

“I guess mom’s in a bad mood, Zi?” I asked with a grin on my face.

“Mom’s mad that Daddy told us that she’s pregnant again,” Zircon answers with a big grin on his face.

“Zircon! I wanted to tell her!” Papa Valkon complained.

“Sorry papa!” He yelled running past me out the door.

“Hey Papa!” I said as I was pulled into a bear hug by one of my fathers.

“I missed you, Sapling,” he said as he embraced me.

“Papa, I was here last night for dinner.”

“Doesn’t matter Sapling, we miss all of our babies after them only being gone a few seconds,” our other dad, Jagger said from the doorway, with our mom and my sisters around him. 

“Hi Daddy! Mom! Em! Ne!” I said as I went and hugged all of them and Zircon when he finally came back to the porch.

“Come in, babygirl. Tell us what’s on your mind,” Mom said, ushering us into the house and into the huge living room.

“Well, I’m leaving tomorrow with Dravo, his mate, her escorts, and Maxia,” I told them.

“Whatever for?!” Mom exclaimed, standing up and pacing.

“My mate.”

“Oh baby. Why can’t he be the one to find you?” Papa asked.

“Because he or she is either a Vampire or a Dragon,” I told them as I clutched my hands together.

“What?” Everyone yelled at the same time.

“Dravo’s mate is the High Priestess of the Witches. They have a seer that has seen the new matings. I-” I cut off as my mom grabbed me and hugged me to her chest. “I don’t want to go, but I have always dreamed of having my mate. I want my other half to accept me, just like the pack does.” 

“I understand sweetie. Just know that we are always here for you, no matter what the outcome will be,” my mom said to me softly.

“Thank you mom,” I say softly and hug her back.

The next few hours we ate and just had a great time. I was really going to miss them all but I knew I needed to do this and needed to trust that the Moon Goddess knew what she was doing.
