Chapter 12 The Awakened Ones In The Hotel

Mia was silent for a few seconds. She had to follow along in the end.

Although she was a Level 7 Awakened One, if a wave of zombies appeared, there was no chance of her survival.

Lucas and Mia found a random room, then he produced a box of food from his System Space.

“Sir, how did this box of food appear?”

Mia was really very curious. Lucas clearly did not have a box of food in hand, so how did it appear out of thin air?

“This isn’t something you can ask,” Lucas said slowly.

Mia could only shut her mouth when she heard this. She knew a powerful person’s actions were always mysterious.

Lucas wanted to go out and walk around to see if there were any high-level zombies or something of the sort.

Mia could only follow Lucas out of the room.

When fate came, it really could not be avoided. When they reached the seventh floor, Lucas heard some movement.

“Sir, are there zombies?” Mia asked softly.

“Sh!”

He made Mia stop talking to avoid alerting the other party.

Lucas got closer to the door and unexpectedly heard someone speaking inside.

“The junior leader wants us to find Miss Hattie at all costs. Otherwise, we have to go back early.”

“Copper City is so big, and there are so many zombies. Where do we start looking?”

“What are you so afraid of? These zombies in Copper City are high-level zombies at most.”

“The main issue is we don’t know where the Scorpion Guardian has gone now. If we encounter a zombie wave, we might not be able to survive.”

Lucas and Mia very clearly understood the conversation inside the room.

“Sir, let’s go.”

Mia tugged Lucas’s sleeve. She only wanted to await her master’s arrival now and then return to Annan Base City. She did not want to start these unnecessary troubles.

“Who’s there!”

Suddenly, a yell came from behind the door.

Just as the words sounded, the door was roughly pushed open. Four men with strange appearances and brightly-colored hair dashed out.

“Who are you two?” A man glared at Lucas and Mia as he asked coldly.

Lucas evaluated these four men. It was lucky they were all just high-level Awakened Ones.

“Sir, what should we do now?”

Mia was a little at wit’s end. She could feel that these four men were all stronger than her. They were very likely Level 8 or even Level 9 Awakened Ones.

Lucas gave Mia a reassuring smile. Had these four men all been Rank 1 Evolved Ones, then it was possible that he would die here today.

What a pity—these four were just high-level Awakened Ones.

The four men’s stares lingered over Lucas and Mia. How they saw it, Mia was just a high-level Awakened One, and Lucas was even more pitiful. He was just a puny low-level Awakened One.

“Bro, this little lass is very pretty.”

“Yeah, bro. I’ve never seen such a handsome lassie.”

Soon, these four men looked sinisterly at Mia.

“You… What do you guys want?”

Mia kept retreating. She naturally knew these four men did not harbor any good intentions toward her.

“Little lady, you’re so beautiful—what do you think we want?” A man licked his lips and said.

“Don’t you guys dare mess around. I’m an Annan College student, and my master is coming over at once,” Mia said hastily amid her franticness.

Once these words came out, the four men all laughed.

“Little lady, Annan College is just a college in Annan Base City. Why would we be scared?”

The four men walked toward Mia step by step, reaching their claws out like devils.

Just then, someone blocked in front of Mia.

This person was Lucas, of course!
