Emily's POV
I saw a group of security men. They were hefty and looked strong.
“Ms. Emily Silver?” The tall one with short black hair asked. He was wearing nice clothes and boots. He was probably high up in the hierarchy.
“Yes, that's me.” I responded.
“My master asked me to take you inside as soon as possible.”
“Who is your master?” I asked.
“Jacob Galahad,” he responded.
“I see.”
“Who's… this?” He asked me, pointing to Fayne who stood solidly beside me.
I took a step forward. “He's my slave. He goes with me wherever I go.”
The security man cleared his throat.
“My name is Simon, I work for Jacob Galahad.”
“I see.” I said with a smirk.
Simon gestured me into the gate. “Please come with me.”
“I would go in with you but first, wouldn't you like to apologize for leaving me outside for so long?”
Simon cleared his throat. “Well… I didn't expect that you would arrive so late. We thought you'd changed your mind.”
I sneered. “Aren't you curious as to why I arrived so late? Or is it none of your business?”
Simon sighed. “I would like to know.”
“I was attacked. Does your master know this?”
Simon hesitated. “Oh no, the master was busy all day. I doubt he knew. No one knew.”
“Anyway, please show me the way in.” I said.
“Please don't be mad at the master, I'm sure he didn't know any of these things. He would have made arrangements to make your coming easier.”
“Forget about it, I'd just talk to him about it instead.”
I knew I was probably acting too sassy but I couldn't help it. I was rilled up what what I'd experienced during the day. My rider died because of the wickedness of Jacob Galahad, my soon-to-be husband.
“Please, it'd be best to not talk to the master about this. Let bygones be bygones.” he said and I frowned.
Was he trying to silence me?
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“The master is already under a lot of pressure, it'd be best not to put him under more.” He said and I frowned.
More than that sounding like a warning, I knew Simon was trying to be helpful in his own little way. But I couldn't trust anyone who was loyal to Jacob Galahad.
“Why don't you lead us inside?” I asked Simon and gestured into the huge home which looked more or less like a penthouse.
“Sure,” he said.
I headed back into the carriage and Fayne rode it in.
When I finally alighted from the carriage, Simon told me. “Your slave is not allowed to go with you to the inner chambers. He'll be given a room to share with the workers.”
I looked at Fayne one last time and said, “Fine.”
Simon led me further into the house and as I walked down the hallway with Simon, I felt weird. I was indeed in a vicinity away from my father's house. It felt strange but it wasn't in a way I wasn't used to. After all, I'd lived in many places before.
“Here,”
Simon gestured to a huge room with beautiful and expensive ornaments.
“Please wait here while I inform the master that you are here.” Simon said and I nodded.
“Okay.”
While Simon left, I walked into the room and closed the door behind me. I looked around the room and it was all pretty decent.
But nothing special was arranged. It was clear to me that Jacob Galahad had no wish to marry me. Instead, he wanted me gone. This made me overthink my decision to come here. Should I have just taken the route the brother wanted me to take? I could've escaped with Fayne and we could have lived a wonderful life together.
No, that couldn't possibly work out.
I sighed, hearing footsteps heading my way. It must be Jacob Galahad. The smell heading my way felt rich and fragrant. It couldn't be anyone but Jacob who was approaching the room. I immediately put the veil over my face and waited. Soon, the doorknob twisted and the door opened. Through the veil over my eyes I saw Jacob Galahad. He had bags under his eyes. He looked extremely tired. But I could not have sympathy for this. This was the man who literally called for my death.
“Emily Silver,” he turned his back to me. “You’re my wife now.”
“Yes,” I responded. “My father sent me here to be married to you.”
“Well, let me make one thing clear then. I will never be able to meet your desires as your husband.”
Even though I was prepared for this and I didn't want any ties with Jacob Galahad in the first place, my heart still broke upon hearing his words.
“W-what do you mean?” I asked.
“My marital status with you is to help me continue my business, it has nothing to do with you.” He said and I sighed.
All these things weren't new to me but somehow when I heard Jacob Galahad say it, it hurts really deep.
“Aren’t you even going to look at my face?”
“I don't even want to look at your face,”
“Could that be why Lyla Dune died?”
There was an obvious silence in the room which made the air uncomfortable between the two of us.
“You couldn't treat her with the barest minimum which is why she died,”
Just as I said that, Jacob Galahad sped towards me and grabbed me tightly by the neck, causing me to choke on my spit but I couldn't even cough. I felt suffocated and I started to wiggle around for some space to breathe but it did no good.
Just when I was about to give up, Jacob pushed me onto the bed causing me to cough and try to catch my breath. The veil fell off my face but Jacob Galahad had turned to the door.
“Don't show your face to me, or anyone else if you don't want to get in trouble. Just live in this room for the end of your days.” He walked out of the room and slammed it shut, then I broke down into tears.
Emily's POV I didn't know how long I stayed in the room, all I knew was that throughout the night, my tears poured down. It wasn't untill the morning that I heard a knock on the door.I wiped my face and went to open the door. Behold, it was Fayne. And he was holding a tray containing food.“W-what are you doing here?” I asked, feeling a bit embarrassed that I could be seen like this by him.“I asked the maids if you've eaten but none seemed to care. I guess since you're here, I'll have to be the one to tend to you.”I frowned. “So my husband doesn't really care about me,” I said.“Shh,” Fayne placed a finger on my lips, silencing me. “They'll hear,” he whispered.I let out a silent sigh. So he knew that the werewolves had super hearing. I wondered how he was getting a hand of this when clearly a lot was going on. And he was human, shouldn't he be more fearful and mad at me that I didn't tell him who I really was… or what I really was.“Come in,” I gestured him to come in.Then I re
Emily's POV “You're wrong. Jacob Galahad is an Alpha and all Alphas have one thing in common. Prestige. In order to get to him, you need to have that as well. Build an image.” Fayne said and I smirked.“You talk a lot, Fayne. There's no way I can build an image here I…” I trailed off, realizing that Fayne had a point.“Ultimately, you are Jacob's Luna whether he wants to admit it or not. You just have to build yourself untill it's extremely hard for you to be ignored.”“I see.” I said.“And how do you think is the best way for me to do that?” I asked.“Build some rapport with the people here. That way it won't be hard for you to get information.”“All these things you're saying sound easy to the ears but ultimately, they're easier said than done.” I said.“I was the advisor to the queen, believe me I know how things work in hierarchies.” Fayne said.“It's not that I don't trust your words, it's just that things are harder now that we're in a pack of werewolves. They take loyalty seri
Emily's POV Simon seemed a bit flustered, “Well, I just came here to check on you. Have you eaten?”“Fayne gave me something to eat.” I replied.“From now, I'll send you a maid to take care of you.”“Okay,” I replied, pretending to not think of it even though I knew that that was Jacob's way of putting an eye on me.“By the way, do you mind me taking your slave to get some treatment?” He asked and I grimaced.“Why would he need treatment? He's just a human slave!”“That's exactly why he needs treatment. As a human, it's easier to get sick and die.”“W-well do as you see fit.” I said to Simon and he nodded.“Well then come with me, you.” Simon gestured to Fayne who gave me a hesitant look before going with Simon. Once again, I was alone to my own devices.I decided to look around the room. Something I hadn't done since I came here, I had only been crying.Anyway, It was about time that I knew exactly where I was and determine how to live it.I walked further into the room and checked
Emily's POV “I… Let's just say I take care of my hair well with natural ingredients.”“Natural ingredients like what?”I remembered when I was younger and I'd dab my hair with coconut oil.“Coconut oil,” I said. “It works quite well.”Melissa nodded with a smile.“By the way, the closet is dirty. Could you find a way to clean that up for me?” I asked.“Of course,” Melissa said with her head upright. “By the way, Luna, more clothes will be delivered to you.”“Okay,” I said and nodded at her.“I’ll go get the cleaning equipment,” She said and ran out the door. When she came back, she was holding an equipment and cleaning tools. She started to clean up the closet and wardrobe.I realized at this time that Anna was no longer listening down the hallway. I let out a sigh of relief and sat down on the bed.I thought to myself about when I would see Fayne again. To be honest, I was a bit worried about him because of the wound on his body. If left untreated for so long, it could lead to an in
Emily's POV “I do,” I responded. There was a couple gasps around the room but I couldn't care less about it.“Then… you can have her.” The elderly woman responded.I looked at the elderly woman and gave her an affirmative nod. Then I grabbed Melissa by the wrist and took her to my room.Once we were sure we were alone and not being listened to, she turned to me.“I'm assuming you didn't just bring me here to work for you as your servant because you like me right?”I smirked.“So you're not as dumb as I think you are, Huh?”“Why do you want me?” She asked, looking at me with concern and a little bit of fear in her eyes.“I know you were the late Luna's servant so I want you to tell me everything you know about her death.”Melissa's face changed. I could tell she was holding a lot of pain and emotions within her but most importantly, she wasn't willing to speak out, but maybe if I tried a little more, I would get a reasonable reaction from her.“Everything I know about her death huh,”
Emily's POV “Alpha, how could I possibly tell you about this? I know it's not your fault that outsiders choose to attack me on the day of our marriage.”Jacob chuckled slightly. “You're still the same as before, Emily.”“And so are you.”“I remember the maid that was in the room. I remember she served the former Luna even till her last breath.”I choosed not to say too much to trigger Jacob. This time that he was in my room, I knew that he was trying to gauge me up to see what I was trying to do as his new Luna. If he had a clue what I really meant to do then I would assume that he would shut me down in so many ramifications which was why I had to be careful.“Well, it just happened that I choose her. She's just a maid so It doesn't matter.”“Just a maid, I see.” Jacob said, and I nodded.“By the way, I sent some of my men to investigate who those men were that attacked you.”“And who are they?” I asked.“Not sure yet. I just came to tell you that I have nothing to do with the attack
Emily's POV “Oh, they are?” I asked with a slight smile and she nodded.“Well, that's nice. It's good to know that people know me here in Galahad clan.” I said and she smiled.“By the way, Luna, what are you doing here?” The maid asked me.“Oh, it's… What are you doing by the way?” I asked the maid.“Well, I was giving the security guards some food.”“Move, let me do it.” I said.“Why?” She asked.“Well, I would like to do it, the security guards deserve it.” I said and the maid moved away.“Fine.”I took over the maid’s spot and started to hand out meals to the guards untill it was all finished.“Thank you Luna.”“Thank you very much, Luna.”I smiled and watched them all leave. Then I was alone with Fayne.“That was nice of me, isn't it?” I said.“It is.” Fayne said.He looked around us and said, “It should be enough to get you moving in the future things you'll do.”“You think so?” I said.“Yes, you should get some sleep now, Luna.” Fayne bowed his head at me.“Where do you sleep,
Emily's POV There was a loud silence in the room which made me feel a bit nervous. I looked around the room and smiled.“Although I recently just arrived at Galahad clan, Jacob has been treating me pretty well.” I responded with a calm smile. “I hope I can calm Jacob's worries and rule Galahad clan together with him.”Matteo gave me a what-are-you-doing smile which I ignored.I stood on my feet and turned to everyone. “Thank you for having me, my name is Emily Silver.”There was a gasp in the room which I ignored. Although I was married to the Galahad clan and family, I was still my own individual and I didn't want that to change simply because I was married.“I didn't know there was such an interesting Luna in Galahad clan,” The Luna of Crystal Pack said which made me smile.“Anyway, let's start the meeting.” The Alpha of Crystal Pack said and I sat back down next to Matteo. “There is a group of rogues who attacked Crystal Pack and I need the help of the Galahad pack and the Donova
Emily's POV A smile crossed my cheek and I cleared my throat, “Thank you, ma'am.”“You're welcome, Luna.”My eyes widened, “Luna?”“Your wolf is a special one, isn't she? It's not that hard to decipher a wolf from a royal bloodline.”I smiled. “Although right now, I'm a Luna. I wish to become an Alpha someday.”“Won't be hard for you due to your bloodline. Where are you from?” she asked me.“You mean my pack?” I asked her. “Right.” She responded.“You'll know in due time.” I said with a smirk and she laughed out loud.“Fine. But wait a moment, I have something for you.”The woman walked into her house and came back with a blue sachet and handed it over to me.“What is that?” I asked her.“You don't have to know what it is honey, just put a bit in the food and water for 14 days and whoever that eats it will die within a month.”My eyes widened, “Really?”“Trust me honey,” she responded. My grip tightened on the sachet. I could use it on Jacob. Then all of a sudden, I sensed some men
Emily's POV “My name is Fayne.”“Wow, that sounds very gentlemanly.” Beth responded with a calm expression on her face.“And you, ma'am?” Fayne asked her.“It's Beth,” she chuckled slightly.“I made some rice and fish soup. Would you guys like to have breakfast?”“You didn't have to.” Beth smiled while walking over and serving herself.“I was hungry so I decided to make it.” I said while she smiled enthusiastically.I fixed Fayne a plate after Beth left the kitchen and he grabbed the plate from my hand and bowed his head slightly.“Thank you,”“You're welcome.”Fayne walked out of the kitchen and I sighed. I waited some moments in the kitchen before stepping out and watching Beth and Fayne eat together while chatting. For some reason, I felt as though our lives felt a bit normal. It was very calm and nourishing compared to the life that I had in front of me. And soon, Fayne was going to die and I would be all on my own. After eating breakfast, Beth made Fayne his morning medications
Emily's POV “Going somewhere?” She asked me.“As a matter of fact, yes. But I'll be back soon.”Beth looked at me from up to down. “Well, you can go but be careful, there might be some cruel werewolves lurking about.”“Don't worry about it, I'm pretty cruel myself.”I winked at Beth and went to the horse and carriage not far from the house and began to lead it into the woods. I found some carrots on the ground and I fed it to the horse as well as some water. When I was done, I walked where Viper had been killed and saw that his body was still there. I removed his body away from the tree and checked his pockets only to see a purse. I grabbed it and checked it only to see that it contained silver. I kept the purse in my dress pocket and found something I could dig the ground with. Then I buried Viper in a far away distance and headed back to Beth's hut. By now, it was dark and Beth was standing outside looking worried.“Finally, you came back.” She told me, looking nervous.“Of cours
Emily's POV I rushed out of the room and went to Beth.“Beth, help me. My friend passed out.”Beth gave me a look. “What? But he should be fine now if he wakes up.”“He did wake up and then he passed out while we were talking.”“Maybe he was just too sleepy and then he passed out.”“Please come check him out.”Beth sighed, “Okay.”Then she walked to the room Fayne was in with me rushing behind her. When she went to check him, her eyes widened and she seemed a little panicked.“Why? What's going on?” I asked her and she shook her head at me.Then she continued to check Fayne's body as well as his pulse. When she eventually untied his wound, she sighed as she turned to me.“He seemed to have been poisoned.”“Poisoned?”I thought of how Fayne was shot and then remembered how brutal Matteo was. If he intended to kill me then he wouldn't let my slave live either least he try to avenge me if something should happen to me.“Can you cure him?” I asked her.She sighed. “The poison seemed to h
Emily's POV I was about to leave when I heard him murmur, “Don't go, Emily. Don't leave me.”I looked at him painfully and smiled, “It's alright, Fayne. You'll be fine. You're a strong man.”Then I walked out of my room and flipped my hair back.Beth was outside, tapping her feet against the ground firmly.“I’m ready,” I told her.“Good.” She accessed me from head to toe and then shook her head.“No. Something's wrong.”“What's wrong?” I asked her.“Your outfit.” She responded.“Come on with me, I think I have something good to sneak you into. Although it might not be the best but it is something.”I entered the hut with her and she led me to her room. She opened the closet and handed me a dress that was green and soft looking.“Change into this and meet me outside,” she told me.I collected the cloth from her and changed into it and then looked at my reflection in the mirror. I looked like the way that I did when I was living with Fayne. So young and innocent. When I walked outside
Emily's POV “Emily…” he trailed off.I ignored him and led him into the the carriage and once he was seated, I looked at his hand. The blood had permeated through the fabric which I had used to tie his hand.“Fayne,” I whispered and then ripped apart another layer of my dress and tied his hand.“You do not have to do any of this.” He said.A sigh escaped through my lips. “Why are you so stubborn, Fayne?”I ignored him and turned around to leave when I suddenly felt his grip on my hand.“Fayne,” I said as I faced him.“Kiss me,” he said. “Kiss me before I die.”I stood there in confusion and shock. “Fayne, you don't mean that—”He grabbed me closer to him and before I knew it, I leaned forward out of instinct and our lips pressed onto each other. My eyes widened as I stared at Fayne whose eyes were filled with desire and many more emotions that I'd never noticed before.Fear and passion took over me all at once. Did Fayne like me?I pulled away from the kiss, stunned and filled with a
Emily's POV “I'll leave it then to you.”The warrior was about leaving when all of a sudden, Fayne leaned to the left and his leg hit a thistle on the ground causing a sound to be made. The warrior's ear tilted to the side and he looked towards where Fayne and I were hiding.Fayne looked at me with guilt evidently written on his face.“You stay here,” I said with a definite smile on my face. “I'll go face whatever needs to be faced.”Fayne shook his head no but I ignored him and walked out of our hiding place and looked between the carriage rider and the warrior. The carriage rider turned to the warrior and said, “Go, this is between me and the Luna Emily down. If she is to die, at least her honour must be preserved.”“Yes sir,” the warrior said and left me alone with the carriage rider.I looked at my nails and blew on it gently. “So you're not just a carriage rider, huh?”The carriage smirked at me. “My name is Viper, I am a trained assassin for master Matteo.”“I see. So he has yo
Emily's POV “So, let's go.”“Okay.” I responded to the Alpha of Crystal pack who led the way.Fayne looked at me and followed behind me slowly. We headed to the woods and Matteo sniffed the air.“Oh no, something's wrong.” He said.“What?” I raised a brow.“Before, I sensed some scent around here but now it's not the same. Do you think the rogues left?” Matteo looked to the Alpha of the crystal pack.“Well, I'm unsure what is going on but we'll find out won't we?”“There's land at the forefront, maybe if we go there we'll find some clue.” The Luna of Crystal pack said which led me to smile and nod.Internally, I was nervous. I hoped they did not catch Penelope, Adam and the others. If they did, I was unsure if I would be able to help them.Goosebumps covered my skin as we got to the land at the forefront, there was a running wolf that was spotted and his wolf felt very familiar to me.“There's one,” Matteo whispered. He then brought out his bow and arrow that he was keeping around hi
Emily's POV “But Alpha, what is your plan exactly?” Adam asked.“In due time, you'll know.” I responded.“By the way, you and Penelope should get going. Have the others retreat and leave. When my brother's warriors arrive, it'll be hard to leave.”“Your brother?” Adam asked.“Yes, my brother Matteo is from the Donovan pack. He has some influence there.”“Oh, I see.” Adam responded.“By the way, how do we reach out to you?”“In Galahad clan. You just have to find the chance. I'll leave the packhouse every red moon so you can find me by that time.” I responded.Adam sighed. “It really is so glad to see you again, but the jewels you gave are not enough to build a pack house.”“I'll send you more when you come to Galahad clan. But please, be very careful and don't put your life in harm's way. Walk in groups so you won't be targeted.”“Okay, thank you Alpha.”“You should get going now.” I said.“Yes,” Adam turned away while Penelope hesitated and turned towards me. “Can I hug you?”I cr
