Chapter 5

Author's POV

After attending three meetings back to back, Ryan entered his cabin.

He removed his suit and put it on a couch. Instead of sitting on his chair, he went towards the window. Ryan stood in front of the window and looked outside.

He started thinking about his life. How did his life change after his father's death? Ryan still felt just yesterday he lost his father in the accident. The wound is still fresh in his heart.

He always felt guilty whenever he remembered his father. He was not able to fulfill the last wish of his father when he was alive. Ryan looked down at his watch and roamed his finger on it softly. It was his father's watch which his mom gifted him on their wedding night.

"I am sorry Dad. I was busy with my dream. I did not even think he had dreamt something for me. I am so sorry. I am not your ideal son. For me, you did a lot. You gave me your whole life. After Mom's death, you did not even marry thinking this stepmother can hurt me. You played both father and mother's roles in my life. And in return I gave you tension" Ryan whispered while a fat tear rolled down on his cheeks.

Ryan went towards his desk sat down on his chair and looked at his family photograph. The first and last photograph of his mother with him. The day he was born, his mother died. Ryan picked up the picture and kissed the photograph.

When a happy memory came in front of him

Start Flashback,

Five years old Ryan was sitting in his room being so angry.

"Baby, eat the chocolate," Hunter said to his son

"No. You didn't come" Ryan shouted angrily

"I am so sorry baby. A client came at the last moment without notice. I was about to leave when he came. The meeting was very important baby" Hunter said softly to his angry son.

"No. You didn't come. My friend's mommies came to pick up them but you did not come. I want my mommy" Ryan shouted angrily

Hunter got hurt hearing it not because his son wanted Mommy but because he failed to keep his promise.

"Daddy, where is my mommy? Why did she leave us? Am I a bad guy? Why did she leave me?" Ryan asked softly.

"No baby. You are the best baby in this world. Your mommy did not leave you because she hates you. She leaves because she loves you more than herself. She wanted to bring you into this world and for this, she sacrificed herself. She loves you a lot baby" Hunter said and kissed his forehead.

"I missed her daddy," Ryan said

"I missed her too baby. I missed her so much" Hunter said and hugged Ryan but Ryan glared at him.

Hunter removed his hands immediately.

"Don't hug me. I did not forgive you yet" Ryan said

"Oh..okay. So, what do I have to do for it?" Hunter asked him

"Do sit up for ten times" Ryan demanded and Hunter looked at his son with shock. He never even imagined doing it in his worst dream too.

"Baby, kids do it. But your daddy is a grown-up man. What people will think if someone sees me doing this stupid sit-up?" Hunter tried to make him understand.

"But there is no one, Daddy. How can they say something when there is one? Wait..do you want to do it in front of people? Should I call our cooks, maids, and security guards?" Ryan asked him innocently

Hearing this Hunter's face went pale.

"No baby. I will do it" Hunter said and held his ear.

He cried in his fate and started doing sit-ups while Ryan started counting 1, 2, 3, 4......

Ryan smiled and put the photograph on his desk when he heard a knock at the door.

Ryan wiped his tears.

"Come in", Ryan said and his PA entered his cabin.

"What is it, Stephen?" Ryan asked him

"Sir, I need your signature on this file," Stephen said to him.

"Give it to me," Ryan said and forwarded his hand. Stephen put the file in his hand.

Ryan opened the file and put his signature on it then gave it back to him.

"Do I have any more meetings today?" Ryan asked him.

"No sir. If you want. You can leave now" Stephen said to him.

Ryan nodded and got up. He picked up his car keys and his suit then he left his cabin.

When Ryan came out from his cabin, he saw a lady employee was crying.

"What happened, here?" Ryan asked the lady.

The employee ran towards Ryan and joined her hands in front of him.

"Sir, I need the loan. Please give me the loan" The lady begged

Ryan looked at his PA.

"Sir, the lady joined our company two months ago. According to our rules, we can not give loans until they work for six months" Stephen said to him

"Why do you need the loan?" Ryan asked the lady

"Sir, my baby needs an operation. He has a heart problem. Please sir have mercy on me. Please help me to save my baby" The lady begged

"I am sorry, Miss. Rules are rules. We can not break rules in any situation" Ryan said and the lady cried out.

Ryan turned towards his PA and spoke up, "Stephen contact the best doctor and my company will bear every cost for the treatment"

Hearing this everyone looked at him with happiness.

"Thank you, sir. Thank you, so much" The lady said.

"It was my duty," Ryan said and went towards his private lift.

Ryan entered his lift and pressed the ground floor.

"Sir, where do you want to go?" The driver asked Ryan and opened the door.

"I will drive today," Ryan says and gets in his car.

He started driving aimlessly.

After driving for two hours, Ryan stopped his car in front of the sea beach.

Ryan removed his suit put a cap on his head put on his sunglasses then got out of his car.

Ryan closed his eyes when cold air touched his face.

Then he started walking towards the sea.
