166. A Team

Riley was even stunned for about three seconds and almost took a shot to the heart if someone had pulled him out of the way too late.

No one could blame a young soldier for feeling nervous when confronted with the highest-ranking officer in the enemy army.

Anyone would have trembled in the face of a war general who was known to be more skilled than his men.

That was also the case for Riley. But he wasn't afraid at all. He was just too shocked and a little nervous.

The young man reflexively turned to the person who had saved his life and was surprised to recognize the person who always wore his protective helmet at a slight angle, “James.”

“How did you get here? Shouldn't you be next-”
