"Where's Ryan?" Melissa voiced out, intentionally changing the topic.

"He was here just now. He went to get his tab."

"Where are you going? Don't you want to unbox the gift?" Emily said to Mel who was walking away.

Melissa proceeded to Ryan's room. She found him by the sofa, putting a book in his backpack. Mel shut the door and approached her son with slow steps.

"Hi baby." She bent to kiss his cheek.

"Hi." He mumbled, not looking at Melissa.

Melissa sat on the sofa and pulled her son close to her. She made Ryan sit on her lap and intertwined her hands with his. "Are you still mad at me?"

The little boy nodded.

"I miss you but I'm still mad at you."

"What can I do to make you forgive me?"

Ryan shrugged.

"How was school today?"

"Good. I finished my lunch."

"And Rumi?"

"She's good too."

"Would you like to talk to your Daddy?"
