CHAPTER TWO

last update Last Updated: 2022-05-28 06:22:42

“It’s so nice to see you again, Tammy.  How is school going?”

“Same shit, different day.  Got blood?” I asked.  I couldn’t help myself, on the way here listening to Paul’s veins and heart pulse, I was about to let my fangs sink into his jugular and suck him dry.  It didn’t help that he kept chewing on the bloodied lip of his and licking it back up into his system.

“Heavens, you go through a bag faster than I can drink my coffee.  Soon, you’ll have to start feeding on humans.  Is this why you’ve brought this young man here today?”  I licked my lips and looked over at Paul.  He was as pale as I was, and shaking.  I smirked, and looked back at Thomas.

“Paul,” I nodded towards him, “wants to be a Vampire.”

“Oh?” Thomas asked, raising an eyebrow at him.  I looked over at Thomas and noticed he was in his usual dark black business suit, and his hair still looked brown with a little bit of gray speckles, naked only to the human eye.  He was holding himself up, and looking like he was about to interrogate Paul; which he was going to do anyway.

“Lover boy has been stalking me mostly every night since he moved here about three years ago, tonight’s the only night I’ve let him catch up to me.  Been watching me from afar though.  Doesn’t believe in Vampires, but then I proved it to him that they do exist.”

“Oh and how did you do that?”

“I showed him my fangs.”

Thomas laughed, “How interesting.  Why does he want to be one?”

“Paul says he can supply us with animal blood.” I said after I licked the inside of my O Positive blood bag.

Thomas raised an eyebrow at me, “some of the oldest Vampires drink animal blood Tammy to live a little bit longer.  Animals have been around far longer than humans, and therefore hold more strength than most.”

He turned his attention back towards Paul and said, “Paul, come forth.”  Paul approached him cautiously, still yet afraid that the Vampire would kill him and drain him of his blood; as I had the urge to do so myself.  “Paul, has Tammy here told you that no humans can know our secret?”

I swallowed the rest of my blood and bit my lip.  One of these days my actions would get me killed, for I forgot that most important rule in a Vampire law.

“No sir, I did not know that.  What is it that you w-want?” Paul’s voice was surprisingly calm, but I knew better.  I could smell his fear as he gave me a look that said, ‘Why didn’t you tell me about that?’

“And, how is it that you came to know that Tammy is one of my kind?  I know she just explained it to me, but I want to hear it from your own words.”

“You’re a half-Vampire too,” Paul asked.  He relaxed a little, thinking wrong.

Thomas roared with laughter, the same laughter I had heard ten years ago that ruined my life.  Then Thomas’s eyes changed that color when he was thirsty for a human source.  “Paul, look out!”  I pushed him out of the way as Thomas bit my neck instead of Paul’s.

I cried out and brought back my fist to punch Thomas in the face, and when my fist made contact he flew back three feet away.  I looked at Paul and calmly said, “I think it’s time for you to leave now.  Clearly he wasn’t ready to speak to you.  Go, now!”

Paul scrambled on his feet and ran away.  But Thomas was already up and running after him.  So I had to chase Thomas down and wrestle with him until we were both rolling around on the muddy ground.  “Thomas, control yourself, damn you!” I shouted out loud.

“I had him within my grasp, and you let him slip away!  He was so close, his blood was just screaming out to me!  I had to have his blood!  To taste it upon my tongue!  But, YOU ignorant brat had to go and ruin my chance!  Just who is this ‘Paul’ kid and why did his blood call out to me so?”

Even though it would make him sick, Thomas needed blood now so I cut my wrist and held it out to him.  He sucked on it greedily while I cried out in pain; and when he was done he helped us both up.  He looked very ashamed of himself.  “I-I’m so sorry for that.  That poor boy must've been so scared…”

“He was scared alright; didn’t you see the look on his face?  Oh wait, that’s right, you were about to drain him dry!  You really scared me back there, Thomas, your eyes got all red.  It really freaked me out.  And what you said a moment ago, that was so intense!”

“My lovely Tammy, I’m so sorry.  You’ll have to give that poor boy my apologies tomorrow at school.  Let him come again at midnight tomorrow, I will do my best not to lose control when I smell his blood,” he said to me.  He was looking okay, but there was no telling what exactly Thoams would do if he came near Paul again. I heaved a big sigh, and let it out slowly.

“I was tempted myself, Thomas… I was tempted,” I told him.  But what I didn’t mention was that I didn’t want Paul to come back tomorrow, it was just too dangerous with him being here.

Thomas squared up his shoulders and held his hand out to me.  “Well then on that note.  Ready to tackle some more blood bags?  I can sense that you are still hungry.  You are a growing young lady after all.”

I stared at Thomas’ hand before slowly slipping my own into his.  “Young lady?  I don’t know who told you such lies Thomas, but I can assure you that I for one, am no lady.”

“Hey, Paul,” I cried. Paul looked over his shoulder at me, quickly turned around and started walking faster. "What an ass," I muttered as I picked up my own place to catch after him. “Did you not hear me when I called your name,” I asked as I finally caught up to him. He shuffled his feet. “I did… but after last night, I didn’t want to see you again…” “I know what happened last night was really bad. But look, he wants me to invite you tonight. As a special guest… join us!” “I’d rather not,” he mumbled. I grabbed him by his collar, finally losing my temper. “Look, I know that Thomas almost drained you of your blood last night, but that doesn’t mean that you can just shut out the world of Vampires.” “Sure it does. All I have to do is just be safe in the sunlight,” he grinned at me. I smiled back and leaned in close to his face, “oh really now? Then how do I go to school?” His smile disappeared and he looked horrified. “That’s what I thought,” I said as my smile grew big
