Crimson's POV
I've always been told I have a scary face. It's not that I want to look like this, but with the way I've been raised, I found it hard to smile normally. I'm not a social person either, so even if I knew how to act normal, I don't know how to be friendly. My parents were very strict on me growing up. My old man's the owner of his own business, and my mom supports him all the way. They raised me to be their perfect little son so I'd do whatever they wanted, but I got sick of it. Because of that, I started the opposite of whatever they told me. I got into a lot of fights, I did things I wasn't supposed to do, I flunked my classes, but no matter what I did, I still felt trapped in the cage that my parents confined me in. It was hard to escape, but that was until I found something I actually wanted to do. I told my old man that I'd stop causing trouble for them if they let me live on my own, and because IBlack's POVWhen I reached 8 years old, I realized that I wasn't normal. Everything around me turned grey. The sky, the trees, the people, everything lost its color, and with it, I lost my emotions.I used to stay inside my room for days, refusing to go out, refusing to see what the world looked like. I didn't want to look at everything I lost, but even when I wanted to feel sad, I felt nothing. I felt numb.My parents took me to countless doctors, but none of them knew what was wrong with me. It was like I developed a whole new illness unknown to man. I thought there was no more hope for me. I thought there was nothing I could do anymore, but when I reached the 7th grade, it felt like everything started to change again. After what felt like an eternity in my colorless world, I could somehow see colors again because of the people I met. I had a group of friends that I spent almost everyday with. I was finally happy. I f
Black's POVI could hear a knock on my door as I just finished fixing my bed. "Black, breakfast is ready downstairs." My aunt said. "I'll be back tonight.""Take care, Aunt Autumn." I replied.Autumn Vera, or Aunt Autumn as I call her, is my aunt that took me in after both my mom and dad passed away. She's a very kind person that agreed to take care of me despite not even talking properly with her before.Right now, our relationship isn't so bad. We've been becoming closer, but it's still a bit hard for me to fully open up to her. Don't get me wrong. I'm very grateful to her, but after years of closing myself off from everyone, it's not easy to open up again.I finished getting ready for school, so I went down to have breakfast. As usual, Aunt Autumn made one of her odd flavoured pancakes. It was purple this time, which was a lot better than the green pancakes she made last time. It tasted like ube, w
Black's POV"I'm White Reinheit." The boy introduced himself as he put his hand out for a handshake. "What about you?"This is the third time this has happened. This guy is the third person I've seen today that just suddenly gained colors. It doesn't make sense at all."Um, hello?" The boy started waving his hand in front of my face.Unconsciously, I slapped his hand away. He looked at me with a surprised expression on his face, then looked down."Sorry." He apologized, looking like the world is about to end. "I just thought you might've wanted to have friends since you just transferred here.""M-My bad. I don't really like when people invade my personal space." I looked away. "I appreciate the thought, but I'd rather be left alone. Sorry.""Ah, but your name? It's hard to work like this when I don't know what to call you.""...Black. Black Vera."We did t
Black's POVJust as Crimson said, it looked like people were talking about us as we walked to the cafeteria. It's like they're not even trying to be discreet about it. I don't know anything about Crimson, but his reputation probably isn't anything good if people are talking about me like this as soon as I'm seen with him. I really have to thank him later. After we finished buying food, we didn't stay in the cafeteria. Instead, he led me towards the top floor. The door to the rooftop was locked, so we just sat down in front of it."You sure you're good with just bread?" Crimson asked as he started eating."I'm fine with this." I replied. "Instead-" I trailed off as I stared at the large amount of food he bought. "-nevermind.""What department are you in? I forgot to ask earlier.""Ah, I'm from the arts department.""Is that why you were drawing earlier? Did you already have to pass
Black's POVCurrently, I'm facing a major problem. On my way to school, I spotted somebody with colors, crouching on all fours as he looked like he was looking for something. Unfortunately, it was that guy from my class, White Reinheit.I have to pass through, but he'll definitely see me. I don't know any other routes to school, and it was bad enough that I cut classes once. I can't skip again.I begrudgingly approached him. "What're you looking for?" I asked. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "I lost my necklace." He replied as he wiped his tears and sniffled."Your necklace? What does it look like?""It has a silver chain and a cross.""And you lost it around here?"He nodded his head as he continued looking.I sighed loudly as I crouched down and started to search for it too. "It'll be easier if we look for it tog
Black's POVToday is club recruitment day. It's a day designated for the freshmen and transfer students to check out the clubs and join one that interests them. There aren't any classes today, so the whole day is used for clubs to recruit members. Luckily, I already have a club, so I don't have to go through the trouble of trying to find one.I entered our club room, and surprisngly, Crimson wasn't there. While waiting for him, I decided to work on some schoolwork.I'm currently part of the light music club. This place is honestly just a club in name only. We don't do any club activities. Instead, we just hang out here. Crimson and I are the only members, and I don't think Crimson intends to recruit any more. It's surprising that the school allows this, but I'm not really complaining. The clubroom's doors were suddenly swung open, making a large banging noise. I flinched and turned around, seeing Crimson all tatte
Black's POV"I'm home." I said as I entered our house, but nobody answered. I guess Aunt Autumn hasn't come home yet.I sighed and went straight to my room. I changed my clothes, then lied down as I took my phone out and put my earphones on. Our performance will be in two days, so I have to learn the song by that time.I took out the lyrics inside my bag and read it as the song played. Surprisingly, Crimson had a really soft singing voice. It was unexpected considering his rough-sounding voice whenever he talks.I knew something felt weird when I was listening to the song, but as I skimmed through the lyrics, I could understand what it was. The song sounded lonely. It wasn't just the lyrics, but Crimson's singing and the tone of the song made it sound very lonely too. When I finished the song, I didn't notice that I had
Black's POV Ever since we were suddenly told we had to perform at the end of club recruitment, Crimson and I have been practicing whenever we had free time. I wondered why we had to perform on the last day, but Crimson said it was because the principal knew we didn't want any new members. The principal and his parents were actually friends, and I guess his parents asked for a favour from the principal? I'm not really sure about the details, but it was something like that. The only reason we had to perform this year was because I joined, and the principal wanted to see what we could do. It's pretty much my fault that Crimson had to go through all this, but he wasn't as mad as I expected him to be. "Hey, you okay?" Crimson asked as he placed a can of juice on my desk. "You nervous for later?" "Ah, yeah, a bit." I replied as Iaughed nervously. "I guess I'm just really not used to this type of stuff." "Geez, you've neve

Black's POV"I'll ask you again." Crimson said as he pinned the light-colored boy on the wall. "What the hell are you doing here?"The boy glared at Crimson, then pushed him back and threw a punch. "I wouldn't have gone to this dump if you didn't run away!"Crimson immediately retaliated with a punch of his own. "I never asked you to find me!"And the fight just went on. I wanted to try and stop it, but there was no way I could do it on my own. If I let myself get caught in that crossfire, I can guarantee that I'll just end up being beaten up. I could probably do something else that doesn't involve me getting their way, but what?I took a deep breath and accepted that there was no peaceful way to stop this, so I braced myself and stepped in the middle. "Stop it!" I exclaimed as I shielded Crimson from a punch."Y-You idiot!" Crimson shouted as he checked on me. "Are you okay?? Does it hurt?"
Black's POVWhat a peaceful day. I woke up really early, and since I didn't have anything to do at home, I decided to just go to school. When I got here, it felt so empty. There were really few students and they're all just doing their own thing.Everything's so quiet and calm. It's not too hot nor too cold, so basking in the sun from the classroom's window felt amazing. The only thing that could ruin this perfect day is a sudden loud noise."Black!" I could hear someone call my name as the doors to the classroom slammed open. The peace is ruined now.I turned around and saw Scarlet, tears forming in her eyes as she stood by the doors. "Hey, what happened??" I asked as I stood up and approached her. "Are you hurt anywhere?"She shook her head and wiped her tears. "Crimson asked me out again."For a moment, my mind went blank as I processed what she just said. "He asked
Black's POV"Do you feel better?" I asked as Crimson came back."Yeah, thanks." He replied."Here." I handed him a cup of hot chocolate and sat down. "You're gonna sleep here, alright?""What? I never agreed to that.""Aunt Autumn said it's too late to go home, and I agree with her. I don't want you getting into another fight.""I told you, I'm fine.""And I believe you, but I'd rather you stay here for tonight."He sighed, then glared at me. "You really gotta mind your own business sometimes."'Here. Eat up." I said as I pushed him the box of pastries."That was your aunt, right?" He asked as he took one and started eating."Yeah.""And it's just you two here?""Yeah. I live with her after all.""Right..."The atmosphere quickly turned awkward
Black's POV I finally got home after a long day. As usual, our house was empty. Everything's been so lively lately that everytime I come home, I feel a little lonely. I sighed and immediately lied down as soon as I got into my room. I closed my eyes, but I didn't sleep. I just didn't want to see everything so colorless. I didn't used to mind how colorless everything was. I just let the days pass while I slowly withered away. I never thought the day would come when I'd feel so hopeless again. "I'm home!" I could hear Aunt Autumn's voice downstairs and the doors creak open. I stood up and headed downstairs. "Welcome home." I said as I entered the living room and saw Aunt Autumn, her warm colors filling the room. "I'm so
Black's POVI wanted to say that I was enjoying the show, but how can I enjoy a colorless show when there's a literal light blub right next to me?The girl that smelled like disinfectants noticed I was staring at her quite intently, so she asked me if something was wrong. Thankfully, the conversation ended pretty quickly since the show started. I don't know how I would've answered her if the conversation continued. I would normally just brush it off and apologize, but my mind just blanked for some reason earlier.I still don't understand why these people are suddenly gaining colors. Why specifically these people? It's not even limited to the people at school anymore since Al's obviously from somewhere else. It just doesn't make sense. It's not like I know them from anywhere else. I wish I knew something more about my illness so I could at least stop being so confused. Come to think of it,
Black's POV "This is nerve-wracking!" Scarlet exclaimed as she paced back and forth. "I'm sure he'll be here soon." I replied to hopefully calm her down. "Maybe he just got caught up in something." Today's the day of Scarlet's competition. To support her, I was supposed to just stay in the audience and watch, but she sent me a message telling me to go to their dressing room. It turns out, Crimson was running late, and beacause of it, Scarlet's panicking. It was really quite a sight to see her like this. We both sent him a message, but he wasn't replying. We don't know where he could be, so we can't even try to look for him. "Um, if Crimson doesn't come, I can wear the clothes instead." I suggested. "No!" Scarlet exclaimed. "I don't want you to wear something I made for somebody else. You should wear something that I made for you. I don't want to just give you something just because the pe
Black's POVThe play started with introducing the princess and some of the characters close to her. It really looked like it was setting up a star-crossed lovers plot. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't really watching it for the story. After a few minutes, they introduced the prince. Just like in the poster, he had a metallic blue color surrounding him, but it was flickering. The boy in the mask was probably Lilac's friend. I already forgot his name, but he was the tall expressionless guy. I wonder how he ended up in a play like this."Princess, I've come to rescue you!" A loud voice suddenly echoed throughout the gymnasium. To my surprise, the voice came from the expressionless boy. He took his mask off and smiled at the princess as he held her hand and kneeled down. "I will dedicate my life to you, princess, so long as you let me."Somehow, his voice gave me the chills. I didn't know he could make expressions like that, and
Black's POV"Wow." White said as he stared at the school's entrance, which had extravagant decorations. "This is a school festival, right?""I guess so." I replied.I don't know what White sees, but everything that I could see was just monochrome. I'm sure these decorations make people feel festive or something, but I guess that's gonna be impossible for me.'Should we go inside?" White asked."Ah, yeah. Where do we give the tickets though?""I think over there." He pointed to a small booth right past the gate.We gave our tickets, then they stamped the back of our hands with something. I guess it was some kind of permit for the festival. I texted Al to ask where he was, but he wasn't responding.I looked at White and saw him looking around. "Do you wanna walk around?" I asked."What about your friend?""He hasn't replied yet
