In no time at all, we arrive at the apartment that Brooke shares with her mother. She had tried to move out on her own a few years ago, but her father passed away and she didn’t want her mother to be alone, so she moved back in. I get out of the car scanning my surroundings, I’ve become accustomed to doing that since Markus has turned up on scene. Jacob sends me a smile as we both make our way towards the old metal steps.“You know, you and I could be partners once all of this is done” Jacob tells me as we reach the front door, I look up at him sending him a weird look with a smile, I mean we have done some mini mission together. “But now that I’m thinking about it, it couldn’t happen as you already have two other men fighting over you” he says placing his hands in his pockets, this didn’t make any sense to me which makes me send him another confused look. “I know Roman and Austin are currently fighting over your hand, at least you’re keeping your options open” he says in a weird acce
I continue walking around Brooke’s apartment, I couldn’t really do much as I wasn’t an officer like Jacob, but I still wanted to look around in case I found anything that didn’t fit. Jacob was in the kitchen seeing if he could find any fingerprints, while I slowly make my way around the living room taking in all the insignificant details. I didn’t come in Brooke’s house too often, but the handful of times that I have been over, you can see that her mother likes to keep everything looking the same.My eyes soon move to the mantel piece just above the old fire, which is where I see the photo of me a Brooke sitting there. I walk over with a smile recalling the memory, it was actually the first photo we ever took as friends about a month after she started working. The whole restaurant had to be evacuated due to some fire drill, but it was freezing cold, so Brooke pulls her phone out saying let’s take one more photo before we all freeze to death!I let out a little laugh before turning awa
We were soon pulling into the carpark for my house, the entire car ride Jacob was trying to reassure me that everything was going to be okay, but I was unsure. We both just heard how Markus is planning something big that has to do with me and Austin, perhaps it would have been better if I didn’t know. But I knew what Jacob was saying was right, now I’m working with his team I know that he will protect me and the guys, but I can’t help worrying. Markus is a tricky guy, you can neve guess what that man is thinking. We soon pull up at the start of the stairs, I thank Jacob before turning and opening up the door. I couldn’t help but close my eyes slightly as the wind whipped through my hair, so much has happened in this short amount of time that I’m struggling to keep up with it all. I was about to close the door, but I pause looking back into the car at Jacob who was sat smiling at me.“Now we know Markus is dumping Brooke’s phone somewhere, it’s pretty likely that she’s dead right?” I a
We all wake up in the morning a little shocked about his car, my head was just swirling with the question why? Whenever Markus does something like this, it means you have done something to anger him and he wants to teach you a lesson. But I have no idea what we could have done, I know it can’t be down to him finding out about me helping Jacob. He would do much more than just burn Austin’s car, it can’t be that he knows Austin and I aren’t really a couple because I make sure Roman and I can never been seen together when we’re not at home. But then my mind goes to what I heard yesterday, Markus was telling his friend that he had big plans for his company which involved, me and Austin. But how is burning Austin’s car helping his company?! I have so many questions, which I have no idea what the answers could be!I leave my bedroom where Austin was shouting down the phone, at first I was a little confused on who he could be talking to, until I heard him discussing his car. He must be talki
It’s been a few hours since Markus appeared at our door, I haven’t left the bedroom but I could hear the argument that Austin and Roman had. I wanted to go out there and help, but I knew me being there would only make the situation that much worse.I was now getting ready for this dinner that Austin and I are being dragged to, this time around I wasn’t as nervous. I knew the kind of things to expect but also, I knew what I could and couldn’t do when it came to Markus. I just hope Austin keeps to the plan and doesn’t try to make Markus angry, we all know what happened last time he did that!In the middle of the guys argument, I was able to call Jacob and explain everything that is happening. He told me there isn’t enough time to get officers in the building with me, but he’s coming up with a plan to have them outside where I’ll also be wearing an earpiece.I was placing my earring in my ear, when the bedroom door opens causing me to jump slightly. Through the mirror, I see Roman making
We were soon sat in the car on the way to this dinner, the car was unusually quiet as we sat there. I was staring out of the window looking at all the trees, cars and people that went by. This time alone, allowing my thoughts of what has been happening to swirl around my head. I couldn’t help but feel anxious over what could happen tonight, whenever we’re around Markus in his home, something bad always happens afterwards. But I also couldn’t help but worry over what Jacob might have me do, yes I trust that him and his team will protect me and the guys if we need it. But what if they don’t get there in time? That wasn’t the only thoughts that was swirling around my head, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I somehow preferred it in some way when Roman wasn’t here. I can’t deny that I really liked it when it was just Austin and I, but I just don’t know what. I shake that feeling off soon after it came, I’m probably only thinking this because Roman being back has just made it a little hard
We were soon entering the house, my anxiety thoughts from the last time I was here start to fill my head. Being here was fine, it’s what happened that same night that scares me to the core. I know so much has changed since then and according to Jacob, Markus sees me as a kind of property so he won’t do too much damage, but the fear is still there. As we make it to the entrance of the house, Markus appears beaming from ear to ear which did freak me out. In the few months that I have been around Markus, I have never seen him this happy, that fact alone scarring me.“It’s so great to see you two, quickly come in before the cold follows you” he says eagerly which once again took me by surprise, before we could speak he turns around and walks in the house.I turn to Austin to see him looking right back at me, I guess from the look on his face he was feeling the same thing. But he soon leads me into the house closing the front door before us, where we spot Markus was already half way down t
Austin and I look at each other for a few more seconds, Markus isn’t being serious right now is he? He doesn’t actually expect us to do some of his weird deliveries at this hour?! Austin looks back at Markus still shocked, but Markus’s face didn’t change.“It’s 9pm” Austin says trying to remind Markus that it was indeed late, but Markus just smiles nodding his head as though it was nothing. “Isn’t it a bit late to do this?” Austin asks when Markus still fails to understand where we were going with this!“We all know night is the best time to do any sort of delivery, the roads are clear” Markus says shrugging, well perhaps if he stops to take in his own sentence, he would understand the reason for the roads being clear is everyone is at home!“What type of people are we delivering these packages to?” Austin asks after realising Markus wouldn’t back down this time, but his questions only worries me slightly, if we have to do this at nighttime, what and who are we delivering these to?!“
