(Flora Mana's POV)
Having been married for three years, we are finally going to meet today.
I stayed up all night dressing myself, four hours on makeup and two hours on dressing. I hope he likes me a little more.
"Why belittle yourself?" If Abbi Miller was here, she'd probably sigh.
Three years, I've been preparing for three years to be his perfect wife. Etiquette, cooking, dancing, flower arrangement, maternity care...
I don't know what kind of women he likes, but I try to learn as much as I can.
I haven't seen him for the past three years, but I'm completely in love with him.
Humble and crazy.
Finally, I'm going to meet him.
Over and over, I count the seconds until I get to his company on time.
On the way to his office, I'm scrutinized curiously by his employees.
They must be guessing who this full-dressed woman is and what she's doing here.
None of them know that I'm Leo Wilson's wife.
My breathing accelerates with my steps.
I'm finally going to see him.
Will he like me?
What is waiting for me, a hug?
A kiss after a long separation? Or…
My face flushes and my heart is about to thump out of my chest. The feeling of anticipation has never been stronger.
"Oh…"
A woman's moan shatters my dream and drags me back to harsh reality.
Then I hear Leo's voice.
He is panting and groaning. I can't possibly have mistaken this familiar voice.
But I'd rather never hear it.
Stiff all over, I approach his office like a walking dead. The door is not closed, and I see him fondling another woman.
I cover my mouth before screaming.
But I can't hold back my tears.
I waited for three years before he agreed to see me.
But he gave me a big surprise.
For a split second, I feel as stupid as a clown in the dark for the past three years.
No matter how hard I try, I can't amuse any viewers.
He hates me.
He likes other women.
It's impossible for him to love me.
He shows me the cruel truth on my happiest day. He is tearing apart all my fantasies and dreams with his own hands.
Even though we have done the most intimate things, even though he is my mate, even though we are married, he still doesn't love me.
He succeeds in tearing my heart apart, if that is what he wants.
But the pain wakes me up.
My marriage is irretrievable.
I have already done my best.
So it's time for a divorce.
I wipe away my tears and leave, never looking back.
(Leo Wilson's POV)
"Tomorrow at 9 am, send a woman to my office."
Yesterday, I gave Alva Watson, my assistant, a task.
Alva didn't seem to understand me.
"Sir, do you want a female assistant?" He tried to confirm it.
Alva knew that I never brought any women back.
So I made it clearer.
"No, I'm going to meet my wife. Find me an actress."
Alva was even more surprised, but he did it without hesitation.
I looked at my finger and my wedding ring was no longer there.
Three years ago, a sudden global financial tsunami nearly engulfed my company. I was forced into a commercial marriage with Flora Mana, the woman who shamed my mother and me.
I know she is innocent. She doesn't know why she hurt me and my mother.
Ada Mitchell, Flora's mother, is my father's first love, and my father is still carrying a torch for her.
As a child, I hardly ever saw my father and was raised in a single parent household.
My mother hates Ada. She has extended this hatred to Flora and taught me to do the same.
It's all their fault.
So in three years of marriage, I have never seen Flora.
My business is on the right track, and I've prepared a huge payout for the divorce. I am ready to redeem myself.
So, this time I agreed to Flora's request to meet me.
Before talking about divorce, I wanted her to know that there was no chance of our marriage being repaired.
At 9 o'clock, she comes on time.
I start acting with the actresses.
I hear her steps change from light to heavy.
She must have seen us.
Then the sound of her footsteps fades away.
This is enough.
"Take your money and leave, don't play tricks."
The actress is still seducing me and I push her away.
Frustrated by my indifference, she begins to dress slowly. It looks like she isn't giving up yet.
I lose my patience and get dressed to leave.
The actress hugs me from behind." Sir, you've given me too much. Don't you want more?"
I know what she wants.
So I push her away.
"Get away from me. Get out of my office. Now!"
"But my dress..."
"Go away!" I exasperate.
The actress rushes out of my office with her dress in her arms.
I cannot deny her stunning beauty.
But I already have my mate.
I don't know what she looks like or where she is, but I can't forget the soul-stirring feeling of hugging her. At that moment, I knew I couldn't accept any other woman.
Flora Mana, the actress, or anyone else.
After the divorce, I will go to her with all my strength.
I will definitely find her. I firmly believe.
So I must get a divorce and reject Flora as my mate.
(Flora Mana's POV)I cry all the way home. When I calm down, I realize that this icy house is never my home with him.I don't want to be in this sad place any longer. But I dare not tell my mother that my marriage to Leo ended in tragedy.I decide to leave and start packing. But where should I go?I have a lot of savings in my account, but I dare not transfer them, otherwise my elders will find out about my divorce. For the time being, I can only get by with the cash I have. After renting a bachelor pad, I only have a month's living expenses. It's time to look for a job.I make up my mind and click into the job site to update my resume.I'm getting frustrated. After graduating from college, I married Leo, gave up my job, and worked as a full-time housewife for three years, just in case he could see me when he came home one day. However, he did not return home for even a day.All my efforts were in vain.I find it impossible to update the resume I created three years ago. With this lac
(Leo Wilson's POV)Although I have decided to divorce Flora, when to leave and how to explain it to my elders is a headache.I attend the charity banquet to relax. It is held in a five-star hotel in the city center.I arrive on time and get off. Then I see my nemesis George Howard's car behind mine.As I throw my key to the servant, I see George getting out of the car with a dazzlingly beautiful woman. He reaches out and the woman takes his arm.The woman lowers her head shyly. She doesn't know it makes her more palatable in the eyes of every man present.George lowers his head as if to encourage her. Then she stretches out her slender hand and takes his arm.I suddenly feel unhappy, but I don't know why.Perhaps it's because George's new secretary is prettier than any he's ever had.I've poached so many secretaries from him, but now he has a better one.As the vice president of NK Media, George is young and promising. In recent years, NK Media and AM Group are not as harmonious as be
(Flora Mana's POV)I change into my evening gown and head to the venue with George Howard."Flora, you're beautiful. It's just a simple charity dinner, and you don't have to be nervous." George keeps comforting me on the way.I nod. "George, you'd better call me Daisy Garcia in public.""Why?" He is a little confused.Of course I'm avoiding Leo Wilson. But all I can tell George is, "My mother doesn't know about my divorce and my job. I don't want her to worry, but there might be her friends at the party.""Okay. You're excellent, and the man who lost you may never know what treasure he's missing."George comforts me gently. But I still feel sad. That man doesn't care about me at all.Our car stops.George gets out of the car first and gently opens the door for me.Then he stretches out his arm towards me."Come on, my pretty Miss Daisy Garcia.""Thank you." I'm a little shy, but still reach out and take his arm. This is my first time with a man other than Leo Wilson."HI, Leo Wilson,
(Flora Mana's POV)I lose to him again.I thought I could be heartless, but when I see him fall to the ground, I turn around.I call a taxi and take him to the hospital. The doctor tells me he will be fine, so I quietly leave his ward.At the hospital gate I meet Cody Wilson, Leo's father."Flora Mana, are you here to visit Leo too? Come back with me and rest for a while." He is delighted to see me.I am very frustrated.I know I can't hide the divorce anymore. The most important thing that keeps me going in this marriage is the kindness Cody has always shown me.Cody is my mother's first love and he treats me like his daughter. Even though Leo's mother, Caitlyn Christian, hates me, smears me and makes things difficult for me, Cody always helps me out and never believes Caitlyn's slander against me.Now I have to tell such an elder the worst news."Cody, I'm leaving.""Why? What's so urgent?" He is puzzled. In his eyes, I'm still the housewife who loves Leo Wilson with all her heart.
(Leo Wilson's POV)At an elite summit half a month later, I meet Daisy again. She is still so charming in normal business attire that I can't take my eyes off her.Although she rejected me that day, I actually agree with her.I shouldn't have bothered her rashly until I'm divorced.I should have respected her more than seeing her as one of those frivolous women who would surrender to one look of mine. She is so special, and even the way she rejects me is so lovely. And…After I fainted from heartache that night, I woke up to find myself in the hospital and my heart was no longer in pain.A nurse told me that Daisy brought me here. She may not be as resistant to me as she seems. She is sitting a few dozen meters away from me, next to George, the vice president of NK Media. She avoids my sight again.Maybe I'm special to her too?I chuckle and is about to sit across from her when I notice Haden Brown, an acquaintance of mine. Haden sits down beside Daisy and begin moving his chair. Now
(Flora Mana's POV)Leo's check makes my heart pound.I didn't expect that he doesn't get angry after being rejected and even offers an olive branch. Can I accept it?I can't.I shred the blank check and throw it into a dustbin. My only relief is that he didn't investigate me during the past half month.Otherwise he should have known that Daisy and Flora are the same person.I don't want to go back to George and Haden. But I don't even want to see Leo again.Distraught, I hurriedly enter the toilet and hide in the innermost cubicle, thinking what the hell I should do.I hear a strange man's voice."Is your medicine ready?"I realize I was so panicked that I went into the men's room.Embarrassed, I quickly cover my mouth and nose so they won't hear my breathing. In the silence, their voices become clearer."Of course. A small bite is enough for an elephant," another man replies."Dilute it a little bit. Mr. Haden Brown plans to win Leo's money before anesthetizing him. Even if he doesn'
(Leo Wilson's POV)I don't feel well tonight.I've been in a daze since I took a sip of the tequila.I even misjudged a few key cards and lost a lot.I'm drunk? It's impossible. I'm a good drinker."Leo, you just lost hundreds of thousands. Are you going to run away?" Haden is challenging me.I glance at him and retort, "It's just a little money. I don't take it seriously. Do you lack money?""Hahaha..." Haden burst into laughter. The people around us are also laughing. They are so noisy. My head is buzzing.I'm about to win, but when I show my last card and is about to take back my chips, I can't keep sober anymore and faint."He fainted!" In a daze, I hear someone talking.I'm still awake, but I can't open my eyes.Someone turns me over and fumbles for something on me."Is that it?" Someone takes something from me."You idiot. This is just a blue key ring, and we want a flash disk. Don't you know the flash disk?"Blue…Ring…No! They can't take it away!I'm stimulated and struggle to
(Flora Mana's POV)Like a lost fly, I looked for Leo everywhere in the casino, but I didn't find him.A drunken man stopped me."Miss, how much do you want?""I don't want money." As I speak, I see a man laboriously helps Leo who fainted downstairs. It seems that he has taken some kind of overpowering drug.I come too late. But the fact that someone is helping Leo relieves me and I want to leave. But the drunkard grabs me."It's great that you are free. Come with me.""No! Let me go!" I struggle desperately, but his strength is astonishing.I call for help from the gamblers around me, but they either don't notice me at all, or watch indifferently."You have no right to refuse me!" The drunkard drags me and is about to leave. My hand hurts, but I can't get rid of him. So I raise my leg and kick him hard."Damn it!" the drunkard cries out in pain and become angrier. Seeing my resistance, he raises his hand high and is about to hit me!I try to avoid him, but he grabs my hair.I can't es
