51. In Search Of A Moonfolk Wolf

Jake was sitting in the cabin of Mr. Maverick Parker, the head incharge of the headquarters. He was seized right as he breached inside and taken to Mr. Parker's chamber and assured that the investigation was running smoothly without causing any trouble to Aria.

And that it was ensured that her comfort was not compromised or ignored, and that Jake could see her once the investigation was done. Although he didn't believe he was going to get to meet her, he chose to take a chance and sat across from Mr. Maverick Parker.

He was distracted with the talks of the football tournament that was about to begin in their school. Not now though. The death of the professor made the principal and the alpha to postpone it until the case was solved or until it was clear that there won't be any more harmful incidents as such taking place in the school premises again.

Jake was barely interested in his talks. He was on his phone playing games and observing the convers

    52. Aria's First Experience As A Wolf Jake's heart had been throbbing vigorously in his ribs during the run to Aria's house. He was so hopeful that he didn't think about checking his surroundings as he moved towards her house. The little abode was standing still under the dark sky. The lights were off and nothing about it looked unusual except for the shattered window on the front. When Jake inched closer, he was hit by a strong scent of Aria and when he moved even further towards the door, he heard soft muffles coming from the other end. Someone was crying and Jake didn't have to guess who it was. He dashed inside and followed her smell in her bedroom. "Aria!" His mouth fell as he froze on the doorstep, observing Aria balled up in the creak between her bed and the wall, holding her legs. Her bare skin seemed to be rippling under his scrutiny. She was trembling. There was blood on her fingers and dirt all around her body. He sniffed the blood and closed his eyelids feeling rel

    53. I Hope You'll Love Me Now, Dad! It was a shaky wind that snapped them all out of their frozen state and made them run ahead to save the commander before Zavier Wright bit him down to pieces. Alpha Killian grabbed the back of his head and separated him from the shuddering commander, who was bleeding to tears and panic. The beta and the gamma dragged the old man away while the alpha endeavored to control the enraged wolf. He seemed uncontrollable, his eyes a midnight dark and teeth were thirsty of penetrating into more meat. Zavier howled and jumped upon alpha Killian. He pinned him down to the ground and rumbled madly near his mouth as he let his anger obvious over the mind link, 'I thought my daughter was safe in your custody when I am gone to hunt, Ragnar! I trusted you with her safety but...' he took a pause and looked up at the beta and gamma trying to pick the injured Arthur Moore to safety. But as they sensed the hunter's dark and threatening gaze on them, they stilled. Gu

"Come to think of it, it has benefitted you too as it helped your daughter meet her wolf. She wouldn't have realized she's a wolf if she had not gone through that traumatizing phase, clicking that part of her brain that had her wolf existing in there."Zavier growled in disagreement. The trauma didn't help her. It only exposed her to the knowledge that she was fragile and can be used as a weakness to bring her father on his knees. The trauma hit her so badly that every fucking nueron in her brain was set alight and every cell in her body was put to distraught. This was a wakeup call to Zavier and he came out of the emotional impact the Alpha's words would have otherwise caused to him. He eyed him stoicly, unconvinced. He was aware of the cause of indifference between Alpha Killian and Derwin Blaze eighteen years ago. But he never got the chance

    55. Training "Here, look at this bird, Aria," I shook my head in deep acknowledgement as I focused my eyes on the bird. "The bird in my hold is A common swift." We were in a vast field of grass, which is not far away from our pack. This is mostly where all the wolves from our pack come to take a run. But on the weekends it is prohibited for the civilians to use as it is utilized as a training field for the wolves admitted in the training academy. But on this warm afternoon of Wednesday, there was no wolf other than my dad and I. He told me that he took exclusive permission to use these fields to train me today from the alpha. It was lovely, it was great to be standing in open space where winds flew like waves with forceful currents. My face felt the pangs of harsh winds yet I didn't let my eyes distract and continued to stare at the bird that was sitting in my father's palm. It was small with a body shining like powdered graphite. Its eyes were the darkest little dots on the side

    56. Training With Flash I zoomed in my eyes on the bird and felt it staring back at me. As if she was giving me a challenge to come and get her— if only I could. But when it was released, I realized my father wasn't joking about the bird. She really vanished from my eyesight. One moment she was there than in the other moment she wasn't. It took me five minutes alone to get used to her speed and crack through her efforts of fooling my eyes. I can see her moving her wings at a crazy speed. It was like her wings had frozen in the mid air and barely shaking under the pressure of winds. When she moved around in the atmosphere, her movement took after a stroke of paint on the canvas. When I scrutinized her further, it was as if her movement bore resemblance to the tail of a comet when it falls."Don't just look at her, Aria," Dad's voice jerked me out of my shocked standstill. "Go after her. See, there she goes in the woods." I ra

    57. Is It Too Hard To Compliment Me, Dad?"You were not terrible." He said. "Most of them who trained with Flash broke their hands or legs during their first training."My heart almost fell apart. I smiled at him and looked away to admire the vividly beautiful shapes the clouds made in the sky."I expect more out of you though." That was all he said before walking away with Flash. He stopped for a second to tell me to go home as he would see me at Lunch after dropping Flash to the training academy to her lavish cage she was gifted by the alpha for her outstanding work. I saw him leave and a heavy feeling slithered my chest.'That was the best compliment you received from him so far, Aria. Well done!' I smiled serenely at my wolf's attempt at elevating my mood."Melody, I am so glad I met you." Was my reply.I am truly grateful to have her. Because she is there to praise me and pick me up from the mo

    58. Revenge on mate "Yeah, right." His shoulders stiffened and he let out that deep heave that he releases only when he is being honest with me despite our feverish relationship, and him being icy-cold to me. Dad allows me to stay out for a while after my training sessions. During this time I wander about the pack and try to clear my head of all the stress I put on it during my labor and ease my body. This reminds me of my meeting with Noah. It was our first meeting after finding my wolf. Melody was so crazy at him that she compelled me to punch him in the nose and call him a pup. Noah had hissed and tried to get a hold of me but this time it was my reflex that made me throw him against a wall and show him a middle finger. 59. Not your old Aria!"You look...." Aria held her breaths as well as her heart as she waited for her father's honest review regarding her new makeover. "... better than the old Aria."He assessed her again. The gray off-shoulder top with spaghetti strings and the high-waist loose pants were looking great on her. Aria has done her hair in a high ponytail with pink gloss and some mascara on her face. He's never seen her in makeup before, but now as he absorbed her grandiose features, it dawned on him that his daughter was actually very good looking. His gaze lingered on the gold locket around her neck, making her graze it with her fingers. He noticed Aria has done her nails in a nude shade too. She appeared like a perfect young lady. He admired her for taking interest in jewelry and makeup as other girls. For the first time Zavier noticed that she was so beautiful. (Aria's new look) "You look pretty." He finally admitted. Aria gave a big toothy grin and looked away in shyness. Th

123Jake's POV The last time I felt humiliated in my life was when— I clearly remember that day like it happened yesterday— I was an eight year old child and in a summer camp. My father had accompanied me as it was a condition of the camp to have at least one parent coming with their child.Mom was usually committed to pre-scheduled parties with other Lunas and was too stubborn to cancel them for a camp which she stated would be too boring for her. But I wanted to go as all my friends were going. That's when dad canceled some of his meetings, which as an alpha he shouldn't have, and came with me.The part where I felt utterly humiliated was when I was reciting the poem I've written for my father. It was a task given to all the children. We were asked to write either an essay or a poem for our parents. I wanted to outshine other kids and show that I was a future alpha, and hence, I chose to write a rhyming poem while everyone else stuck with writing an essay. And as I was extremely eag

I don't think he would like it if he knows you're joining the war he himself is staying away from." Harry shook his head clearly indicating that he wasn't going to take me along. It made my anger worse. I seethed and grabbed the front of his shirt. "I'm not a child anymore. I'm a warrior and this is my fight. Don't try to take that away from me, Harry. If dad wants to stay away then it is his choice. I can't leave my family to thrive alone when I know I have the ability to and I can help them win."Harry remained firm on his words but the need to get away from this pack and its people made me try harder to convince him. That all-encompassing feeling of pain washed over me again and I found myself staring at Harry, who was watching me have a battle with my wolf. "It's okay if you don't believe me, Aria. But maybe this will help you know I am not making up stories." He said as he passed his phone to me. I took it with shaking hands and played the video that was on pause. A corrosive pain shot up my spine and burst forth in my entire body. My knees gave way, and I fell on the floor. My agonized sobs bounced off the walls as I cried my heart out. I desperately wished it wasn’t true, but like every other cruel reality I’ve faced, the video was undeniably real.Jake was talking about me in the video with Kai and Neil. They were teasing him by taking my name and he rolled his eyes. 120"Let me start from the start, Aria. That way you'll get a better idea of what I'm trying to tell you... Actually, our grandfather used to be one of the greatest and strongest Alphas of his time. He had a huge flourishing pack named Berrywood Pack. All of us were happy in our lives, and then, one day your father came to visit our pack to help us.""Rogues have always been a problem, Aria. They were a little more daring in the past than they are now. In the past, they would just pick up any she-wolf or girl child they liked and had their way with them. Or worse, pick an entire pack and threaten them to send a woman on a daily basis to them. And if their conditions weren't agreed with, they would declare war. That's why your father was invited by our grandfather to kill these rampant rogues and finish their terror forever."Harry's eyes gleamed as he went on, "None of us knew that your father would find his mate in our pack, and that it would be none other than the Alpha's Daughter,
