55. Training

"Here, look at this bird, Aria," I shook my head in deep acknowledgement as I focused my eyes on the bird. "The bird in my hold is A common swift."

We were in a vast field of grass, which is not far away from our pack. This is mostly where all the wolves from our pack come to take a run. But on the weekends it is prohibited for the civilians to use as it is utilized as a training field for the wolves admitted in the training academy.

But on this warm afternoon of Wednesday, there was no wolf other than my dad and I. He told me that he took exclusive permission to use these fields to train me today from the alpha. It was lovely, it was great to be standing in open space where winds flew like waves with forceful currents. My face felt the pangs of harsh winds yet I didn't let my eyes distract and continued to stare at the bird that was sitting in my father's palm.

It was small with a body shining like powdered graphite. Its eyes were the darkest little dots on the side

    56. Training With Flash I zoomed in my eyes on the bird and felt it staring back at me. As if she was giving me a challenge to come and get her— if only I could. But when it was released, I realized my father wasn't joking about the bird. She really vanished from my eyesight. One moment she was there than in the other moment she wasn't. It took me five minutes alone to get used to her speed and crack through her efforts of fooling my eyes. I can see her moving her wings at a crazy speed. It was like her wings had frozen in the mid air and barely shaking under the pressure of winds. When she moved around in the atmosphere, her movement took after a stroke of paint on the canvas. When I scrutinized her further, it was as if her movement bore resemblance to the tail of a comet when it falls."Don't just look at her, Aria," Dad's voice jerked me out of my shocked standstill. "Go after her. See, there she goes in the woods." I ra

    57. Is It Too Hard To Compliment Me, Dad?"You were not terrible." He said. "Most of them who trained with Flash broke their hands or legs during their first training."My heart almost fell apart. I smiled at him and looked away to admire the vividly beautiful shapes the clouds made in the sky."I expect more out of you though." That was all he said before walking away with Flash. He stopped for a second to tell me to go home as he would see me at Lunch after dropping Flash to the training academy to her lavish cage she was gifted by the alpha for her outstanding work. I saw him leave and a heavy feeling slithered my chest.'That was the best compliment you received from him so far, Aria. Well done!' I smiled serenely at my wolf's attempt at elevating my mood."Melody, I am so glad I met you." Was my reply.I am truly grateful to have her. Because she is there to praise me and pick me up from the mo

    58. Revenge on mate "Yeah, right." His shoulders stiffened and he let out that deep heave that he releases only when he is being honest with me despite our feverish relationship, and him being icy-cold to me. "I am happy you found your wolf but... I still feel like you're caught in a problem when you come home late post your training." I smiled and dropped my eyes to the lobster. Dad allows me to stay out for a while after my training sessions. During this time I wander about the pack and try to clear my head of all the stress I put on it during my labor and ease my body. This reminds me of my meeting with Noah. It was our first meeting after finding my wolf. Melody was so crazy at him that she compelled me to punch him in the nose and call him a pup. Noah had hissed and tried to get a hold of me but this time it was my reflex that made me throw him against a wall and show him a middle finger. He left me that day like a cruel step-mother that doesn't want a daughter to the gree

    59. Not your old Aria!"You look...." Aria held her breaths as well as her heart as she waited for her father's honest review regarding her new makeover. "... better than the old Aria."He assessed her again. The gray off-shoulder top with spaghetti strings and the high-waist loose pants were looking great on her. Aria has done her hair in a high ponytail with pink gloss and some mascara on her face. He's never seen her in makeup before, but now as he absorbed her grandiose features, it dawned on him that his daughter was actually very good looking. His gaze lingered on the gold locket around her neck, making her graze it with her fingers. He noticed Aria has done her nails in a nude shade too. She appeared like a perfect young lady. He admired her for taking interest in jewelry and makeup as other girls. For the first time Zavier noticed that she was so beautiful. (Aria's new look) "You look pretty." He finally admitted. Aria gave a big toothy grin and looked away in shyness. Th

Aria observed a girl was dusting a hand at her elbow.Sunrise gold, straight, and waist length long hair tumbled over her shoulders. She was smooth brown with thick eyebrows and thin lips. A girl relatively a couple of inches shorter in height than Aria. She looked new."I am sorry. I didn't see you." Aria delivered in her soft tone."That I perceived by the force of the collision." The girl said, her voice edged with irritation."I am extremely sorry. It's my first day after a long leave so I intended to not be late for the first class."Aria helpe

My heart was hurting from Jake's ignorance while my body vibrated from the after-effects of my mate's force used on me. My life went from bright to dark overnight. I was made to pay for a mistake I didn't even commit. My wolf was howling for respite. We both needed some rest. All these hours we tolerated since the morning has taken a toll on her. However, we refused to relax. Not now. Not when our eyes were blazing with the fire of revenge. Melody and I have vowed to not sit quiet until we settled scores with Noah Rhodes. That bastard caught us off guard. He attacked me when I was not prepared. But now my veins were fueled with aggression, my limbs aching to fight back. My mind was compelling me to use all the tricks I have learned from my father through intense training. I moved in the darkness as I made my way to Noah's house in search

He pulled them in a merciless joke as his canines surfaced. His muscles convulsed in fury as he brought his face closer to Aria, "It was Jake's idea, wasn't it? He asked you to do this to trouble me.""Aah!" Aria's body was a huge ball of pain. She tapped on his wrist so he would let go. Alas, enraged like an uncontrollable bull, Noah tossed her across the room again. Aria fell on her weak study table, crushing it under her. She hissed with thick tears streaming out of her eyes as a pointed piece of wood pierce her inner thigh. Noah didn't show any pity as he raised her by her hair again. Her scalp ached as a thousands brightly blinking stars burst across her vision. "I detest Moon goddess for mating me with a gold digging whóre like you. You are despicable and..." It turned out that Jake left an hour before she reached there. Then she went to his home, the alpha mansion. Unfortunately, there were a dozen expensive cars lining outside the mansion. The alpha probably had visitors, and thus she couldn't gather up the courage to walk into that house while powerful people occupied it.There could be one, if not all, disliking her father. She was too frightened to appear in front of any such person who could take a dig at her to humiliate the most feared hunter in the pack. But she still kissed him." Kai chewed the inside of his cheek agitatedly. He wished to tell her about Noah and Aria being each other's mate but he bit it down. It wasn't his place to tell her. But he definitely needed to make her see some sense and not entirely blame Aria for the kiss. "Do you realize this wouldn't have happened if Aria didn't go to the old age home with you?" Her body wasn't helping her. She sat down in the stand and buried her face in her hands. 'Aria, you are making it more difficult for us. Do you know that?' Melody whispered in a heavy voice. As a wolf, things were already messed up for her. Her mate didn't want her. He was dating and making out with another she-wolf in the name of punishing Aria and her. There was Jake to care for them and help them get back at the fucker. But right now he was also mourning for betrayal Aria never meant to commit. It wasn't entirely a betrayal. She was forced to kiss. There were no sparks and most importantly it disgusted them both. "I can't put their words in the back of my mind, Melody. My heart is squeezing. I don't know what to feel."
