Chapter 78

Lucy was left alone in the room after Fred went to see Chad. She was scared but put up a calm front.

When she didn't see any surveillance cameras after gazing around the room, she pulled out the key she had taken from Chad earlier and held it in her hand.

Her gaze landed on some candles, and her gaze flickered as she thought of something. Ignoring the pain in her belly, she approached the candles and lit them. Then, she dripped the wax onto a piece of glass.

Throughout this process, she kept glancing nervously at the door, afraid that someone would suddenly burst in. When she was almost done, she heard footsteps ring out.

It scared her, and she quickly tucked the glass with the wax under her shirt. The wax was still hot, so it burned her when it came into contact with her skin. She hissed in pain.

At that moment, the door swung open. Lucy hadn't had time to clean up the table and was so nervous that she could barely breathe.

It took all her willpower to pretend to be unaffected
