Lillian's POV :

After filling up the form, I was taken to the operating room by the doctor.

This was my second time in an operating room. When I saw the surgical instruments on the table, my heart began to pound in my chest.

"Miss Rosenburg, please lie down." The doctor pointed to the operating table next to her and said, "I'll inject you with some intravenous anesthesia. It will take less than 30 seconds for it to kick in. The procedure is very short. Just think of it as taking a nap and when you wake up, you can leave the hospital."

I looked at the needle in her hand. Once the anesthesia was injected into my body, I would no longer have the ability to protect my baby. I would be at the mercy of others and my baby would be gone.
