She had a lot of things in her list to do this morning Elena thought, as she dropped Nehita off at her new school. She couldn’t help the smile that broke off on her lips as soon as she saw the gladness in Nehita’s eye.

Is it really alright by you Lena, can I really resume school now? She had asked with a worried look on her face as she stared at her sister. She knew her sister was struggling to help them survive, and wasn’t ready to be a burden to her sister.

Bending to her sister’s level, Elena moved away the strand of hair on her sister’s cute face, with a fond smile playing on her lips. She was always satisfied and proud of her sister’s smartness, and that always gave her a reason to try harder to make sure her brilliant sister got the best education she could give her.

Yes baby, I will certainly come pick you up after school. Elena told her still with her smile, and Nehita hugged her tightly.

Thank you very much Lena, will you go see mom? She asked after breaking the hug, and Elena nodded slowly.

Now off you go baby before you get late. She said, and Nehita ran off joining the other children as they hurried to school.

Taking a deep breath, Elena stood up and walked off. Luckily, the hospital wasn’t so far from the hospital, and she wasn’t ready to enter any bus. She needed to save money no matter how little it was.

It took her 7 minutes to get to the hospital, and on seeing her mother; her eyes welled up with tears which she wasn’t ready to shed.

Her mom was still on life support and it hurt so bad to see her mom still this way after the accident.

Elena. You do know it’s not visiting hours right? Someone said right behind her, and turning, she saw the doctor in charge of her mom’s case “Doctor Charles”, and she managed to give him a little smile despite her heavy heart.

Hello Doctor, I had to see how she is carrying on before going to work. How is she doing? She asked managing a smile, but the doctor shook his head slowly.

I must be sincere with you Elena, your mother’s condition is getting more critical as time goes, and the surgery must be carried out, else I am afraid we might have to say good bye to her forever. He said calmly, and a tear successfully dropped from her eyes, but she quickly wiped it off, and pulled up a weak smile on her face.

How long do we have? Elena asked calmly even though her heart was threatening to fall off from her chest.

You have 2 months at most to get the money so the surgery can be carried out on her. He said and she nodded sadly, and the doctor gave her a pity filled smile, and gently patted her on the shoulder as a way of comforting her before he walked away with the nurses at his tail.

Elena’s eyes shifted to her mom again, and she smiled sadly again. “You will be ok mom, I promise you that”. She said gently, and made her way out of the hospital and headed to her work place with a grim look on her face.

She got to a little café 2 stops from her work place, and couldn’t help but wonder if there was a vacancy in the Café, where she can work part time. She was willing to do anything at this point.

Suddenly, water was splashed on her, and she froze as cars drove past her, only to stop some steps away. Already very angry, she matched up to the car that had splashed the water on her, and just then the guy stepped out from the car looking dashing in his complete blue suit, and was suddenly surrounded by other men dressed in black suits. They seemed to be heading to a company next to the café, and without thinking twice; she matched up to him already very angry.

How dare you? She said, and without thinking landed a slap on his check which caught him unawares because his eyes widened from shock. His men quickly rushed to cover him up, while 2 held her down while he kept glaring at her.

Who sent you? He asked simply, and she stared at him as though he had lost his mind, and then it occurred to her, it was the guy from the other night. “Vincent Blackwood”.

Really? After splashing dirty water on me, all you can come up with is to ask who sent me? You know what, fuck you. She said as she struggled to break free from the guys who were holding her, but it was impossible.

He kept glaring coldly, but she refused to feel intimidated under his glance because she returned his glare with one of her own.

The guy suddenly waved at the guys to leave her, and then they left her, and she struggled to her feet looking very dirty and angry.

Give her some money; she looks as though she needs it. He said with a cool mockery filled voice, and she felt her anger rise again, but before she could form a statement, a bunch of cash was dropped at her feet, and she couldn’t help the anger filled tears that came to her eyes.

She indeed needed money, but not the money that will place a stain on her pride. She picked up the bunch of money, and threw it at the man who was already moving towards the company which he had come to visit, and it landed on the back of his head, and this time, he turned to her with blood shot eyes, and she ran off, knowing that the story will be different if she was caught.

She had managed to stay put throughout her shift at the Café where she worked, and when it was time to pick up Nehita from school, she’d taken her home, and had gone to her second shift at a supermarket where she worked as a sales representative.

Throughout her day at work, her mind kept drifting from how to get money to foot her mom’s bills, and suddenly her mind went to the grey eyed famous Vincent Blackwood who had turned out to be a real jerk.

At the end of her shift, she made her way back home to prepare for her next shift which would be till mid night, but she wanted to make sure Nehita was settled before she left again.

As she got to their apartment, she noticed the strange emptiness, and an unsettling feeling embraced her. In swift steps, she entered their own flat, and was surprised to see that the door was opened, and that was when her fear developed.

Nehita!! She called out trying to sound as calm as possible, but no reply came. Her eyes swept their little room, and the entire environment, but her sister was nowhere to be found.

She was going crazy, that she knew for sure as she ran across the yard, looking for her sister everywhere. Her tears were already falling as she was determined not to think the worst out of the situation. She quickly dialed Amelia’s number, and she picked up after 2 rings.

Babe, what’s up? Amelia asked, and paused when she heard Elena take in a shaky breath.

Are you ok Lena? She asked calmly, but her tears betrayed her, because she began crying as soon as she heard that question.

It’s Nehita. She is missing. Elena declared, and fear gripped Amelia who couldn’t find words to express her emotions.

How… how is that possible? She asked, but as Elena made to reply, a call came into her phone. It was an unknown number, she realized.

I will call you back; I need to take this call. She said, and then switched over to the new call, only to freeze at the first statement she heard.

Nehita is here with me, safe and sound, but I wouldn’t guarantee that for long, unless you are ready for my terms. The cold voice came from the other side of the phone, and her heartbeat increased in thuds.

Dad! She said in disbelief, as fear embraced her completely.

Building up courage, she asked the question which was already eating her up deeply even though she could really guess the answer at heart. How did you find us? He grinned mirthfully from the other side of the line as though he'd just heard the funniest joke on earth, and some how it gave her chills by just imagining his evil looking face as he grinned. Now, don't be ridiculous child. How do you think its possible for I not to know the whereabouts of my precious daughters, and of course their mother? He asked and grinned dangerously again. The club was dim lit, and so she was completely unaware of the attentions and stares coming her way.Amelia had arrived at her house few minutes after she ended her call. Rushing to her, she'd pulled her into a bone crushing hug as though she knew just how much Elena needed the hug. Few seconds later, she'd released her, and then replaced it with a hard smack on her arm. Ouch! That hurts. Elena yelled while rubbing her pained arm with a frown on her face. You scared the shit out of me girl. Amelia snapped back, and she bit her lower lip trying to keep her emotions in check, with narrowed eyes. I'm sorry. She mumbled, and Amelia sighed, and eyed her weakly. Silence fell comfortably among them, and then Amelia broke it. What were you

She woke up with a start, and with a blinding headache. How did she get on the bed? She wondered, as she slowly scanned her environment with her eyes. This was definitely not her room. She suddenly realized, and then hissed from the blinding headache. She felt a movement beside her, and she smiled. The memories from last night came rushing back to her, and her smile broadened. Last night with Marco had been very memorable and extra ordinarily hot. She recalled, and blushed hard from its effect. Even in her drunken state, she'll never forget such a beautiful and blissful experience with Marco. They had gone rounds after rounds as though they were made of steel, yet non was ready to give up on the flow of desires. Get me the footage from the club last night. Vincent said to Duello as he opened the car door for him.Yes boss. Duello replied simply, and waited patiently until he entered the car, and he closed the door softly after him. It was clear that his boss was pissed off, and he couldn't help but pray that his wrath doesn't fall on him, because whoever was unfortunate to have a taste of his wrath might not go free; but he couldn't help but wonder who was the source of his bosses anger, could it be the lady that left earlier? He wondered earnestly. Vincent was silent throughout the ride to his company, but he kept clenching and unclenching his fist from the anger flowing through his veins towards the young lady who had slapped him again.Take me to the base. He said suddenly from the backseat, and Duello turned swiftly and briefly to look at him.But sir, it is day time and... This was only one of the ways for her to save her mother's life, and losing this job now was equivalent to losing her mom. Pulling herself together, she wiped her tears and entered the bus that just arrived, and headed straight to the hospital. Stop crying Elena, you're more than this. Vincent’s POVI sat heavily on my seat after the bitch of a personal assistant exited my office, and I sighed deeply. There were many things on my mind, but surprisingly the same subject which was the same lady who I ought not to think about. I lean on my seat and rubbed my temples in deep thoughts. One thing I couldn’t quite explain is my need to hurt the lady so badly, and still I can’t exactly do a thing. All my life, my whole thoughts and actions had been centered on money, power and influence, never women. Now having to think of the same lady over and over again must certainly constitute an insane state of mind. I reasoned numbly. It was so unlike me to keep thinking of a subject, over and over again, unless it had something to do with my plans for revenge, the plans that have brought me this far in both the business world, and the mafia world.Fuck, I think I really do need a therapist now. I mumbled and rubbed my forehead in frustration. I hate to think about her really, bu

Elena’s POVSo I started working at the club, not as a bar attender what so ever, but as a fucking pole dancer, in other words known as the stripper. Don’t judge me though, everything I do and will ever do is as a result of my need to settle my moms bills, and see that she gets back to health. You look beautiful. Amelia commented with a smile at the little piece of clothing I was putting on while getting ready for hell. Yeah, I look more like a slut. I replied her drastically with a frown on my face but she grinned instead. And a slut you will be tonight for the purpose of getting what you want. The lady in charge said from where she stood and I couldn’t help but frown even more. You really need to stop frowning, you will destroy your makeup. The make up artist chipped in, and I sighed in exhaustion. This was never the plan, but with Amelia reminding me of the limited time I had to save my mom, I couldn’t help but do something I wouldn’t dare do on a normal bases. Guess I will h

She hated herself for the way her hands tangled in his shirt, for the way she gave in, even for a moment, to the raw need in his touch. Finally, with a surge of willpower, she broke free, pushing her head back to break the kiss."This isn't right," she said, her voice trembling but resolute, but then his lips met the hallow of her neck and she gasped. He kissed, sucked and nibbled the softness of her neck. Elena began to tremble uncontrollably from raw need. She unconsciously moved her head backwards to give his lips more space to continue his righteous torture on her. Elena knew this shouldn’t be happening, but the more she t

Elena felt strangely comfortable with Eric that she almost forgot that this was a revenge plan. “So tell me Lena, can I call you that?” He asked with a calm smile. Elena nodded in response. “What brings you to Paris?” Elena smiled cutely. “Business, I am on a business trip with my boss.” She responded. His eyes widened in surprise. “Really, does that mean you are not staying, I was hoping to buy you dinner tonight, you can at least make it right?” “She will not be available.” Someone said behind them right before Elena could get the chance to reply him. Elena didn’t need to turn to know it was Vincent and so she didn’t turn, she only stared ahead and then back at Eric who was now looking at her questioningly as Vincent came to stand with them. “Sorry who….?” “He's my boss.” Elena replied shortly, cutting Eric’s intended question to a stop. Again he looked very surprise. “Its

They signed in with our company, which seemed to be a huge success because even though Vincent refused to show it, he was very glad.I watched him with a little smile as he shook hands with the executives, promising them that they would not regret signing in with the company. His mood seemed to lighten throughout the way as we made our way back to where our car was packed. I was deeply tempted to taunt him about the smile on his face that he kept trying to hide, but I decided against it.He seemed to be in a good mood, and it probably was the best time to question him about how I ended up in his room last night. I wanted to know if it was a dream that he had slept beside me, or was it a reality. The thought itself somehow excited me, but believing me there is no way I am accepting that conclusion. Your mom’s surgery is going to happen today. He said out of the blues, and my eyes widened.I thought it was supposed to

He had achieved completely nothing tonight and it was pissing him off, but somehow having her in his arms helped drive his rage away. He took her to his own room and laid her on the bed while watching her sleep. She was complaining way too much, and suddenly she fell into a faint-like sleep. He knew she must have been scared, and suddenly he felt sorry for leaving the way he did. He watched her calmly with a little smile on his face at how beautiful and cute she looked while sleeping like a baby. He hated himself for how he was slowly feeling for her, but he knew he couldn’t control the feeling because he was already in too deep. Taking a deep breath, he pecked her forehead, and then left the room to meet Duello at the living room where he stood waiting for him. Sir the manager had provided another suit for her. He said immediately as soon as his boss came into view, bu

Once she was done eating, she found herself staring at his door from time to time, hoping that he would step out and smile at her like he used to, but he never did. She was about to step back into her room when his door suddenly opened, and he stepped out looking so dashingly hot. It took all her will power not to drool at him, and instead she turned away from him almost immediately and headed for her room as though she was not looking out for him some minutes ago. He barely spared her a glance before he walked over to the door and stepped out without talking to her, and that was when she paused. Was he actually ignoring her? She wondered sadly as she glanced after his retreating self, and sighed deeply. Deciding not to think about his actions, she went to wat

Narrator’s POVElena, wake up! She heard a voice call her softly followed by a little tap on her shoulder, and she slowly opened her eyes to see her boss/fake boyfriend staring down at her with an unreadable expression. Are you awake now? He asked and she blinked twice before nodding. He nodded as well and then moved away from her, only to stand up and began to walk away. She sat there confused, trying to understand what exactly was going on until her eyes went outside the window, and only then did she understand that they had arrived. The jerk couldn’t just tell me that, could he? She mused and grumpily stood up and followed his retreating back out of the plane only to see that he wasn’t at the foot of the plane waiting for her. She was getting very annoyed at his recent behavior until she saw a figure coming her way, and a middle aged man dressed in a black suit walked to her and bowed. Slowly, she turned to face the man who was staring at her with a cold look on his face even though his mouth was pulled into a grin which didn’t quite lighten his face at all. Determined not to let the man ride or intimidate her, she gave him a fake smile which was so obvious that the man’s eye widened a bit at her expression. Well with all due respect sir, I know you mean well, but I had like to remind you that you really have no right over your son’s relationship, and we will decide to get married if we feel like and when we want. She told him in a voice that gave out completely nothing, and the man’s eye narrowed at her slightly. Even though he was troubled by her choice of words, he smiled at her boldness and nerves to talk back at him with no fear at all. Just a little number out of a huge number would even stand before him without shaking,

Narrator’s POVHe walked off without any fore warning, and she quickly went after him while consistently dragging down the shirt as she half ran after him. They made their way through the wide sitting room and out of the mansion which seemed all familiar too her. Butler Ken had immediately got to clean up the table as soon as they left, and she somewhat felt sorry for having the old man clean up her mess. He led her towards the car park where about six of his men were waiting for him, including Mark whose eyes widened in surprise on seeing her wearing his boss's shirt, but he quickly masked the surprise with a look of seriousness. Duello held the door to the choice black car Vincent had picked out of the thousands of other expensive looking cars, and she went in first as directed by him. As soon as she was sitted, he entered the car as well. They sat side by side, while Elena tried her best to focus on her breathing instead of the fact that their shoulders were touching from how c

She said with a surprised expression on her face, but he only shrugged. It is either that or your life. He said in a low voice that sent chills through her, and she frowned at him. Was he really threatening her or what? She wondered with a frown directed at him but his face remained static. If I don't stay with her, where else could I possibly stay? She asked him in despair, and he didn't need any thinking process because the desired answer was in his brain. You can stay here until everything is resolved; I have many rooms in this mansion. He told her and even before he could complete the statement, she was already shaking her head in refusal. No, I can't stay with you. She told him firmly and he frowned. Maybe she was refusing because they fought. Hey Elena, this isn't anything we could take for granted. You not staying with me are completel
