Get me the footage from the club last night. Vincent said to Duello as he opened the car door for him.

Yes boss. Duello replied simply, and waited patiently until he entered the car, and he closed the door softly after him.

It was clear that his boss was pissed off, and he couldn't help but pray that his wrath doesn't fall on him, because whoever was unfortunate to have a taste of his wrath might not go free; but he couldn't help but wonder who was the source of his bosses anger, could it be the lady that left earlier? He wondered earnestly.

Vincent was silent throughout the ride to his company, but he kept clenching and unclenching his fist from the anger flowing through his veins towards the young lady who had slapped him again.

Take me to the base. He said suddenly from the backseat, and Duello turned swiftly and briefly to look at him.

But sir, it is day time and... He trailed off in his objection, as his eyes caught sight of his boss glaring at him from the review mirror, and h

The pain and heartbreak was completely intense as she made her way out of the Café in tears. Her legs were shaking and the sobs successfully tore through her throats and out of her lips as soon as she was steps away from the Café. This was only one of the ways for her to save her mother's life, and losing this job now was equivalent to losing her mom. She walked slowly to the bus stop, and sat there and continued sobbing while waiting for the bus, ignoring the stares that was coming her way, for everyone was curious to know why a beautiful lady like herself was crying in an open place. It must be that she broke up with her boyfriend! Someone commented from a safe distance. Pulling herself together, she wiped her tears and entered the bus that just arrived, and headed straight to the hospital. Stop crying Elena, you're more than this. She whispered to herself slowly, as she patted her chest, but it was as though her control had slipped and another tear rushed down her cheek which

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 10

Vincent’s POVI sat heavily on my seat after the bitch of a personal assistant exited my office, and I sighed deeply. There were many things on my mind, but surprisingly the same subject which was the same lady who I ought not to think about. I lean on my seat and rubbed my temples in deep thoughts. One thing I couldn’t quite explain is my need to hurt the lady so badly, and still I can’t exactly do a thing. All my life, my whole thoughts and actions had been centered on money, power and influence, never women. Now having to think of the same lady over and over again must certainly constitute an insane state of mind. I reasoned numbly. It was so unlike me to keep thinking of a subject, over and over again, unless it had something to do with my plans for revenge, the plans that have brought me this far in both the business world, and the mafia world.Fuck, I think I really do need a therapist now. I mumbled and rubbed my forehead in frustration. I hate to think about her really, bu

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 11

Elena’s POVSo I started working at the club, not as a bar attender what so ever, but as a fucking pole dancer, in other words known as the stripper. Don’t judge me though, everything I do and will ever do is as a result of my need to settle my moms bills, and see that she gets back to health. You look beautiful. Amelia commented with a smile at the little piece of clothing I was putting on while getting ready for hell. Yeah, I look more like a slut. I replied her drastically with a frown on my face but she grinned instead. And a slut you will be tonight for the purpose of getting what you want. The lady in charge said from where she stood and I couldn’t help but frown even more. You really need to stop frowning, you will destroy your makeup. The make up artist chipped in, and I sighed in exhaustion. This was never the plan, but with Amelia reminding me of the limited time I had to save my mom, I couldn’t help but do something I wouldn’t dare do on a normal bases. Guess I will h

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 12

Narrator's POVIt felt heartbreaking to be dancing like she was, only to be getting a look of disgust, but little did she know that it was the other way round. The look on his face wasn’t because he didn’t like her dancing steps, but he was only disgusted in himself for wanting to take her forcefully from that pole and bang her right on the table. He couldn’t help but feel disgusted in himself for wanting the same lady who his aim was to deal with her and nothing more. He watched her dance seductively with little to no smile on her face, and yet she looked so beautiful and so fucking irresistible that it hurts to even think about. He was meeting with Mr. Ferrari and Fields who were strong forces in the mafia world and he needed them to team up with his group. He didn’t trust Mr. Ferrari and his people, but to him, it was safer to keep the enemies close to him, and right under his watch, and everything was going well until she walked through that door. He couldn’t bring himself to

She wasn’t ready to wake up any time soon, and who ever was calling her right now was actually disrupting he peaceful sleep.Go Away! She managed to say slowly without opening her eyes, and Amelia groaned in annoyance. You have to wake up now Elena, else you'd miss your interview. Amelia told her in a serious tone, but Elena only groaned and turned away from her. I have no interview to attend, so please let me sleep. She replied through a groan and Amelia sighed in distress. You have a fucking interview to attend this morning dummy, and if you don’t wake up right now, I will have to use another technique. Amelia threatened in a no nonsense tone, but Elena simply ignored her and continued sleeping.Without another word, Amelia went into the fridge and took a can of chilled water, and walked back to the bed with a serious look on her face. • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 14

Elena’s POVI hadn’t really expected Mark to be nice to me here, knowing fully well that I had ignored him totally that night, but he was being overly nice and sweet as though we have been friends for ages, and I suddenly felt guilty for acting that way on that unfortunate night. Well seems like I got what I deserved, because on the same night, I had the most embarrassing experience of my life, and yet he didn’t seem ready to question me about what had transpired that might, between their boss and I, and I was totally grateful about that, because I had no excuse cooked up for that night. As he chatted heartily about his wishes that I would be employed so that we could get to hang out together, my eyes swept to the guy from earlier. He held an unreadable look on his face, but his eyes seemed hold a strong warning, which I realized was directed to Mark; and just as I have guessed, Mark looked at him and suddenly fell silent which was very suspicious. I stared at him for a long time

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 15

Elena’s POVEvery bottled up feelings of pain resurfaced immediately the call ended, and all I could do was lie helplessly there, only able to shed tears of pains. A knock came on my door briefly afterwards, and knowing who the person was, I quickly wiped off my tears, and masked my face with a wide smile as I awaited the person on the other side. Elena, are you ok? You are taking decades to come out of your room, the food is getting cold. She said from the other side of the room, and I quickly went for the door. I’m perfectly fine, just trying to fix my things. I replied her as soon as I opened the door, and thankfully, my smile didn’t weaver. She cast me a suspicious glance as I smiled widely, and walked out of the room with me leading the way to the table. Sure you are ok? You seem pretty off to me. Well, typical Amelia, always very observant. I quickly masked my face with another smile and turned to look at her. I’m fine Elena, just that I feel a little sad about all that

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 16

Elena’s POVA long silence settled among us, well let me rephrase that, he returned to what ever the hell he was doing with his laptop and left me standing there like an idiot. Stupid rotten beast, I will so feed your soul to the birds of the air and make sure that……..Why are you still standing there glaring at me? He suddenly asked, and that brought me back from my dream land, he must have caught me staring when I was cursing him deep down. I don’t know what to do, sir. I said the last part with a note of mockery which I am guessing he noticed, because he glared at me for a short while. Then stand there and do nothing. I’m sorry, what? I asked in disbelief, but he gave me a mouth shutting look, and I instantly went numb, and watched him continue with whatever he was doing. Surprisingly, I stood there watching him for some minutes, watching him ignore my presence totally as he went on with whatever he was doing. My temper started rising while I kept trying to subdue it with the t

What she needed was more than just time, but if Vincent ever got to the point of being suspicious of her, then she was as good as dead. Elena stayed put, after Duello left, she went over to her own room and shut the door. It was obviously a narrow escape, but that was the least of her worries. Now she was curious as to why her dad was calling her, but what if Vincent found out about her dad. She knew if he did an indept search on her, there was no way he wouldn’t find enough dirt on her. But even though she wanted to tell him, her sister’s life was at stake, and that was what she could never risk, at least not when her father was involved. They would soon be returning to the States, and she knew that it would increase her chances of meeting her dad or even Marcus, and if she was seen with any of them, then the story would certainly be different. Elena’s hands found her heart, and she placed her hand over it, trying her best to remain calm. After some breathing sessions, she went s

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 50

The sudden ringing of her phone was like a sudden threat, Elena flayed up, her eyes narrowing frightfully as she saw who the caller was. It was her dad, and he had dreadful timing. She thought deeply, trying to keep herself from trembling so much and giving herself away that something was wrong. She picked up the phone quickly, a way to prevent Vincent from seeing who the caller was, because she couldn’t imagine explaining at all. Elena’s fingers hovered over the screen, and then it moved to the power button, turning it off to silence the ringing of the phone. Her heartbeat was hammering so wildly in her chest as she did this, her eyes refusing to meet Vincent’s, who was probably now staring at her. It was her dad calling, and his calling meant nothing but trouble, and if Vincent found out about him or the truth, then she would be done for, everything would be totally destroyed. Maybe it was her nervousness or maybe the universe was totally against her, because even as she kep

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 49

Narrator’s POVThe couples were still caught up in their wheel of passion that every other thing around them became a memory, fast fading away and the reality was just their lips working through each others. He deepened the kiss, pulling her closer, his body pressed against hers. The world blurred, reduced to the maddening sensation of his lips claiming hers. She hated herself for the way her hands tangled in his shirt, for the way she gave in, even for a moment, to the raw need in his touch. Finally, with a surge of willpower, she broke free, pushing her head back to break the kiss."This isn't right," she said, her voice trembling but resolute, but then his lips met the hallow of her neck and she gasped. He kissed, sucked and nibbled the softness of her neck. Elena began to tremble uncontrollably from raw need. She unconsciously moved her head backwards to give his lips more space to continue his righteous torture on her. Elena knew this shouldn’t be happening, but the more she t

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 48

Narrator’s POV The two sat opposite each other chatting as though they had been friends for years. Elena felt strangely comfortable with Eric that she almost forgot that this was a revenge plan. “So tell me Lena, can I call you that?” He asked with a calm smile. Elena nodded in response. “What brings you to Paris?” Elena smiled cutely. “Business, I am on a business trip with my boss.” She responded. His eyes widened in surprise. “Really, does that mean you are not staying, I was hoping to buy you dinner tonight, you can at least make it right?” “She will not be available.” Someone said behind them right before Elena could get the chance to reply him. Elena didn’t need to turn to know it was Vincent and so she didn’t turn, she only stared ahead and then back at Eric who was now looking at her questioningly as Vincent came to stand with them. “Sorry who….?” “He's my boss.” Elena replied shortly, cutting Eric’s intended question to a stop. Again he looked very surprise. “Its

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 47

Elena’s POVThe meeting with the Mandel executives had ended well. They signed in with our company, which seemed to be a huge success because even though Vincent refused to show it, he was very glad.I watched him with a little smile as he shook hands with the executives, promising them that they would not regret signing in with the company. His mood seemed to lighten throughout the way as we made our way back to where our car was packed. I was deeply tempted to taunt him about the smile on his face that he kept trying to hide, but I decided against it.He seemed to be in a good mood, and it probably was the best time to question him about how I ended up in his room last night. I wanted to know if it was a dream that he had slept beside me, or was it a reality. The thought itself somehow excited me, but believing me there is no way I am accepting that conclusion. Your mom’s surgery is going to happen today. He said out of the blues, and my eyes widened.I thought it was supposed to

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 46

Narrator’s POV Duello opened the door for him and he carried her into the suit with a deep frown on his face. He had achieved completely nothing tonight and it was pissing him off, but somehow having her in his arms helped drive his rage away. He took her to his own room and laid her on the bed while watching her sleep. She was complaining way too much, and suddenly she fell into a faint-like sleep. He knew she must have been scared, and suddenly he felt sorry for leaving the way he did. He watched her calmly with a little smile on his face at how beautiful and cute she looked while sleeping like a baby. He hated himself for how he was slowly feeling for her, but he knew he couldn’t control the feeling because he was already in too deep. Taking a deep breath, he pecked her forehead, and then left the room to meet Duello at the living room where he stood waiting for him. Sir the manager had provided another suit for her. He said immediately as soon as his boss came into view, bu

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 45

Narrator’s POV The food was soon delivered to her, and even as she ate she couldn’t help the feeling of guilt that kept crowding her mind, and soon she was brooding, but it never stopped her from enjoying her food at all. Once she was done eating, she found herself staring at his door from time to time, hoping that he would step out and smile at her like he used to, but he never did. She was about to step back into her room when his door suddenly opened, and he stepped out looking so dashingly hot. It took all her will power not to drool at him, and instead she turned away from him almost immediately and headed for her room as though she was not looking out for him some minutes ago. He barely spared her a glance before he walked over to the door and stepped out without talking to her, and that was when she paused. Was he actually ignoring her? She wondered sadly as she glanced after his retreating self, and sighed deeply. Deciding not to think about his actions, she went to wat

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 44

Narrator’s POVElena, wake up! She heard a voice call her softly followed by a little tap on her shoulder, and she slowly opened her eyes to see her boss/fake boyfriend staring down at her with an unreadable expression. Are you awake now? He asked and she blinked twice before nodding. He nodded as well and then moved away from her, only to stand up and began to walk away. She sat there confused, trying to understand what exactly was going on until her eyes went outside the window, and only then did she understand that they had arrived. The jerk couldn’t just tell me that, could he? She mused and grumpily stood up and followed his retreating back out of the plane only to see that he wasn’t at the foot of the plane waiting for her. She was getting very annoyed at his recent behavior until she saw a figure coming her way, and a middle aged man dressed in a black suit walked to her and bowed. Bienvenue à Paris madame, j'espère que votre voyage a été agréable. He said while still bowi

  • The Scoundrel's Hero   Chapter 43

Narrator’s POV Then get him to marry you! His words kept echoing in her head, as she found herself unable to make any other movements. Slowly, she turned to face the man who was staring at her with a cold look on his face even though his mouth was pulled into a grin which didn’t quite lighten his face at all. Determined not to let the man ride or intimidate her, she gave him a fake smile which was so obvious that the man’s eye widened a bit at her expression. Well with all due respect sir, I know you mean well, but I had like to remind you that you really have no right over your son’s relationship, and we will decide to get married if we feel like and when we want. She told him in a voice that gave out completely nothing, and the man’s eye narrowed at her slightly. Even though he was troubled by her choice of words, he smiled at her boldness and nerves to talk back at him with no fear at all. Just a little number out of a huge number would even stand before him without shaking,
