“Megan, please talk to me. What is going on?” Veronica asked as calmly as possible even though she was completely scared and her anxiety was shooting through the roof. Her heart, racing with every passing second.

She wished Megan had put the call on loudspeaker, so she would have heard the whole conversation with her dad and there would have been no need for her to start asking questions from Megan, who was now looking so devastated with tears welling up in her eyes.

But at the same time, she understood that it was a conversation between a father and his child and it should be somewhat private. So she respected her privacy.
