Chapter 4

Faye's POV:

I swallowed my ego and told Lean the whole story, including the fact that Max dumped me.

She was silent for a brief period.

She just kept staring at me, which enraged me.

"Say something or get the fuck out of my room," I snarled and she swiftly shook her head. 

"You really slept with Kian Santos," She mumbled to herself. "What if the Alpha finds out?"

If my father ever finds out about my rendezvous with the Scarred Alpha, he will disown me for good. 

I inhaled deeply as I exhaled with my hands covering my face. "Lean, I'm at a loss for what to think about next. I'm furious with myself for allowing that to occur." I sobbed.

She walked up to me and sat down at the edge of the bed with her arm thrown across my shoulders "it will be okay, it's just the two of us that know this. Your secret is safe." She sternly assured me.

I knew that my secrets were safe with Lean. She has been my friend ever since I was a little girl so I wasn't too worried about that, I was just scared of what will happen if father gets to know about it.

I wasn't as cheerful as I used to be when I got ready for school on Monday morning because I knew that soon everyone in the Pack would know that Max and I had broken up.

I detest thinking about it since it leaves such a sour aftertaste in my mouth.

He wasn't my mate in any case, so why am I still clinging to something so idiotic when there was nothing I could do except let it go and move on? a teen romance?

I saw Max and his pals walking in the opposite direction as I make my way down the hallway to my locker. I straighten my back and maintain a serious expression...

I wasn't going to let love pull me down, and I wasn't going to let anyone perceive me as weak. I was going to be an Alpha, and I was going to run one of the most formidable packs ever.

I have spent my entire life practicing for that, and I would never sacrifice my status as an Alpha for anything.

"Hi, max." I gave him a quiet greeting and continued.

I didn't turn around to watch his or his buddies' or anyone else's response. I walked directly to my locker, opened it, took my book out, closed it, and left.

"You did a good job." Mina; my wolf praised me. I smiled softly to myself and nodded my head.

I did a good job.

My first class was physics so I hurriedly walked to class when I got there Lean was already sitting down, nervously waiting for me.

She let out a dramatic sigh as soon as she saw me and she quickly grabbed my hand, pulling me down the chair beside hers "I saw Max this morning, he didn't say anything to me. Have you seen him?" She inquired curiously.

I thought back to the look on his face when we met and I shrugged casually "I saw him in the hallway with his friends." I replied curtly, not ready to take the conversation further.

Lean didn't notice my reservations though, she pulled herself closer and grabbed my hand, staring into my eyes with her pale puppy eyes "And? Did you guys talk? What happened?" She asked curiously.

I truly wanted to tell her to fuck off at that moment because she was pissing me off.

"I'm not going to start this morning by telling you what transpired between me and my ex-boyfriend, Lean!" I snarled. She slowly withdrew her hands from mine and sat quietly on her seat.

I was sorry for how harshly I treated her but she deserved it, she was pissing me off and I couldn't hold back my snarky response.

I just knew that we were going to ignore each other for a very long time because I wasn't ready to apologize for anything.

A few minutes later our physics teacher walked in.

"Good morning students, without wasting our time, today we are going to start from where we stopped the last class which is motion." He said and quickly stride towards the whiteboard.

"Now someone should give us a quick summary of what we did last class." He began.

I knew that the class was going to be a long and frustrating one.

Throughout the day I saw Max a couple of times but we didn't say anything to each other, the news already went around that we broke up but no one was bold enough to come up to me and ask what happened, they just assumed that one of us has found our mate.

I parked my Lexus in front of the park house and got down. As I grabbed my backpack from the car and locked the door, I saw my Dad's Beta; Max's Dad walking out of the house. 

Immediately he saw me, he stopped on his track and smiled.

"Hello, Faye." He greeted.

"Good day sir," I responded and walked up to him. "Are you here to meet Dad?"

He nodded and stretched his hand to touch my shoulder.

"Max told me that you both broke up with each other, no matter what led to that I hope the both of you can keep the friendship going because of the future." He told me.

Even though I wasn't planning to avoid Max, I knew that even if I want to, I couldn't. I would be an Alpha one day and he too will occupy the position of his father as my Beta, we will work together in the favor of the Pack and there was no way I could avoid him or be at Longer head with him.

"Max and I are friends, nothing changes and it's not going to change," I assured him. He nodded his head and stared down at me one more time.

"Max made it known to me that you cheated on him." He said and his look changed to that of accusations. "How could you do that?"

I hated the way he was looking at me, I knew what I did was wrong but he definitely wasn't the person I was expecting to tell me about it, this man was a serial cheater who cheats on his Mate every chance he got, what made him think that he could lecture me about loyalty?

Fucking stupid.

It has been two months since my encounter with Kian Santos, luckily, non of my family knew about it, but then I fell sick.

I was scared to go to the Pack clinic, I didn't want to hear what the issue was.

I was vomiting and weak, so much so that my parents got to know about it.

"I have called the Pack doctor, he will be here to check on you and know what the hell is wrong," Dad said to me from where he was sitting at the edge of my bed. 

Mom placed her palm on top of mine and squeezed gently "you'll be fine, Baby."

I closed my eyes anxiously as we waited for the Pack doctor to come.

A few minutes later, he arrived.

"Good day, Alpha and Luna." He greeted my parents and walked up to me. "Hi, little one."

I hate it when he calls me that.

"I... I'm not a little one." I murmured and he chuckled.

"I am somehow glad that you won't be shouting today." He said and strolled towards me, Mom sat up from the bed, giving him space to stand by me.

"First of all, I will check your pulse." He told me, he grabbed my hand and closed his eyes. After a while of total silence, he opened his eyes and stared at me with a confused look on his face.

When I saw this, my heart lamented. 

Even though I didn't know what was going on, I knew that it wasn't good.

"What is wrong with her?" Father asked throatily.

The Pack doctor turned around to face my parents and sighed heavily "Fayette is pregnant, Alpha." He dropped the bombshell.

My head sparked with several fireworks and my eyes widened, almost falling out of their sockets.

"What... What?" I stammered anxiously.

No. No.

"I'm not pregnant," I added frantically, I came down from the bed and stared at my parents. "I'm not pregnant," I affirmed.

"Who is it? who is the father of your baby?" Dad questioned and I continued shaking my head.

"I'm not pregnant, Dad. I swear by the goddess." I continued. I was too scared to move closer to him. 

"Honey, we just want to know the truth, is it, Max? if he is the one then we can solve this problem? You just have to let us know who it is because Max is the only boy we are seeing you with." Mom said gently.

The last person I had sex with was Kian Santos, no one else, only him, and we didn't use protection.

 Oh, my goddess!

 What do I do now? what am I fucking going to do?

"Don't waste my time, we are listening." Dad snarled.

I fumbled with my hand as I opened my mouth to say the truth. The Pack doctor quietly left the room and I mentally cursed him and Kian for putting me in such situation.

"I..... It is Kian." I responded calmly.

"And who the fuck is this Kian?" Dad bites out.

"Kian Santos," I mumbled.

"What?" Dad asked as though he didn't hear me the first time.

"It was a mistake, Dad. I swear." I begged. 

"How can you do this, Fayette?" Mom asked. She called me by my full name, I knew instantly that she was also angry at me. "How can you sleep with that social outcast? you even cheated on Max, what the hell is wrong with you? we didn't raise you this way."

The door was pushed open and Austin; my younger brother walked in.

"What is going on here? Mom's voice can be heard downstairs." He said as he glanced at all of us.

"Get out, by the time I come back I don't want to see you and that thing in your stomach, that thing you are carrying for that outcast in this house, you are hereby banned from this Pack forever." Dad proclaimed harshly. I dropped to my knees and lowered my head to the ground as hot tears run down my face.

"What the hell is going on in this life why is Dad chasing Faye out of the Pack?" Austin asked frustratedly.

"She's carrying Kian Santos's child." Mom uttered bluntly.

"What!" Austin exclaimed and walked towards me. "Faye...." He added, his eyes getting teary.

We both knew what my fate was.
