"ARE you sure? Why? Is there a problem with the hotel?" Brianna asked with a note of concern when I mentioned my plan to resign. It was just a plan, not a certainty yet.

I gave a faint smile. “No, no problem. Just, uh, personal issues,” I replied, hoping she wouldn’t press further. It seemed she noticed my reluctance to elaborate and didn’t pry any deeper.
