Magnus POV

While the strange maiden walked away, all I could think about was her beautiful face imprinted in my heart. Never has a maiden made me feel the way she had just done.

Brian and the rest of the soldiers returned with a man, whom I presume was the pack doctor. Upon identifying who I was, he became stricken with visible fear.

"Alpha." He said, lowering his head in sign of courtesy. He looked to be one of the few old members of the pack around.

"How are you able to know me?" I asked, completely curious.

"I was at the meeting a few months ago, where you gave the Alpha king a piece of your mind, regarding your territory, that is where I got to know the rumors were true." He revealed.

At this stage of my life, I wasn't phased by petty rumors that had been spread about by people. I had finally come to terms with what they thought about me; the ruthless Alpha.

I stretched out my arms and while he tended to the little wound I had gotten, my thoughts returned back to the young maiden.

"There is a maiden in your pack that has struck my interest. She was heading towards the arena, all dressed gloriously and had the eyes of an angel." I revealed, as he wrapped tape across the arm gently.

"Silver Line boasts of young beautiful maiden Alpha. Perhaps when you get to the arena, you can see her again." His statement gave me a perfect idea, one that would become a fair deal for my pack and the Alpha Adrian's pack. I rarely had conversations with any Alpha, but seeing how desperate times call for desperate measures, I can't help but communicate with him.

Once he was done, I headed towards the arena. It was a stack filled with people from all across the packs. The moment I walked into the arena, all events stopped and all stares were focused on me. I was used to the spotlight and while everyone else would care about it, I never cared about the attention. Several people were whispering, while others simply moved a step back even further.

"Announcing the glorious arrival of Alpha Magnus Otto Damien, the leader of the Red Moon Pack." A loud voice declared and what followed were several gasps and murmurs while I walked up to the seat across the table. Once I sat down, the event continued and several guests across the table could not help but be weary of my presence as well.

The incident with the Alpha King a few months ago had made many of them realize that I was never a man to be joked with.

"Alpha Magnus, it is an honor to have you in my pack to grace the festival." Adrian stated, extended his hands for a handshake, one which I found rude. He seemed to have gotten the hint from my body language, thereby returning his hand.

The event kept on going, up till the moment where the prayers to the moon goddess were to be offered. The moon was at its peak; a period where the people believed the moon goddess was in their midst. I watched as several of the pack members bowed their heads and began making prayers.

Many times everyone tends to wish for everything, but there was an exception and it happened to be myself. I got all I wanted and didn't care for nefarious prayers to the moon goddess.

While my thoughts had me zoned out, my eyes caught sight of the very familiar face. I wasn't wrong about her beauty and I wondered why she was isolated from everyone, even as they offered prayers. Her demeanor revealed she was scared, but of who? I wondered who would have the guts to want to harm her. Thinking about it, I suddenly felt an air of possessiveness.

"I believe the young maiden over there is a member of your pack?" I asked Adrian, who was seated beside. His countenance changed the moment he laid eyes on the maiden, forcing her to rush out of the arena. In that moment I realized everything and it increased my level of intrigued state.

"Alpha Magnus, you don't have to bother yourself with her, she is my Omega and a worthless piece. I am sure there are others...." I growled at the manner he had used to describe my potential bride, and he held his tongue. No one dares call such a beautiful soul worthless.

"Do not speak to her in that manner." I affirmed. He shook his head with a smile. I rarely get angry over petty things and by hitting my emotion, she has made herself a priority for me to get. I would surely have her eventually.

"I have a proposal for you Adrian." I said, not staring directly at him, but at the members of the pack offering prayers. From my peripheral vision, I could see the look of curiosity in his face.

"And what could that be?" He asked. I turned to him with a smirk.... "I will leave my men with your pack, to strengthen your army. They are the finest you would ever get. We have gone to combat and have lost fewer soldiers. Their technicality in combat is sublime. The reason for this offer is you, in return you give me the girl." His brows gathered up in confusion. I didn't seem quite ambiguous with my sentence and thus a mystery remained that he was confused.

"Why are you willing to offer great men for such a maiden, what do you find fascinating about her?" He asked.

I would rather feign silence than reply to his speech, which I found infuriating. His tone and choice of diction had me wondering if I could shove down his teeth down to his throat.

Seeing I unmoved till I got a response about my request, Adrian realized I was willing to do anything.

"Very well then, the trade is fair and I think it is going to be best for both of us." He finally submitted.

I smiled in satisfaction, knowing she was going to be mine. Whoever she was, whatever she had been able to do and capture my attention, I needed to know and I didn't mind finding it out.

The festival was over and it hurts that I never got to say the prayers I so desired to make after taking so much risk. I had seen the same figure on the path way to the arena, pointing in my direction to the Alpha and i couldn't help but mutter curses. He was the reason I would be punished and thought of the previous beating had my legs shaking. "Celine! The Alpha orders for your presence." Zica announced with a smile on his face. Right before I stepped into the chambers, I rolled my eyes at him. He was infuriating and I could only wish I was strong to give him a piece of my hand. Stepping into the chambers, my eyes went directly to the throne, where Alpha Adrian was seated gracefully on the throne, alongside the same man from the arena. I wondered what they had discussed. "Alpha." I lowered my head,

We need to regroup and plan our next move carefully.”

His leadership wavered with every passing day, and the pack sensed it. They were divided, some siding with Magnus, others with me. And Celine's attempts to rally them against me? That would only drive them further apart."Just a few more moves," I muttered under my breath as my footsteps echoed quietly across the stone flooring of the pack house's dimly lit halls. No, I sought something far greater
