Chapter 3: Prepare for the casting

The casting for the role was widely announced. Every actor had one week to prepare and choose the role they wanted. Heulwen spent the first two days thoroughly studying the manuscript. She was extremely impressed by the main antagonist.

This was the story of a European noble family. The family had two daughters. The elder sister was kind and loved by many. The younger sister had a straightforward personality and often offended others. Both fell in love with the prince. However, the prince fell in love with the elder sister the first time they met at the ball. The younger sister also sincerely congratulates the two of them. Later, the younger sister married the prince's younger brother. Later, the prince's younger brother was murdered during a visit to investigate the situation of the people.

The prince and his wife decided to take the younger sister to the palace to take care of her. During a drunken night, the prince raped her and caused her to miscarry. She also inadvertently learned that the prince ordered an assassin to kill her husband for fear of being usurped the throne. She burned all the will for revenge. First, she seduced the prince and slowly poisoned him. She also joined hands with a hostile country to kill the prince. However, the older sister knew all about it and killed her sister herself. The older sister went through a lot of hardship to find a rare medicine and cure the prince's illness. After that, the two teamed up to repel the enemy and rule the country together.

The main antagonist was the younger sister. Heulwen felt this was a role that changes emotions and expressions constantly. No matter how much Heulwen loved the role, she knew she couldn't get it. No one dared to give a leading role to a young actor.

So, Heulwen focused on the supporting villain, the neighboring country's princess. This role was a stepping stone for the love scene between the two main characters. The princess of a neighboring country was appointed to marry the prince for the sake of the alliance between the two countries. She fell in love with the prince at first sight even though the prince's eyes were only on the female lead. The princess was still determined to win this man by any means. Until she saw that the female lead did not care about herself to bring back precious medicine for the prince. The princess knew she had lost so she returned to her kingdom and begged her father to help the prince. While the younger sister changed from good to bad, the princess went in the opposite direction. Heulwen found this was also a role worth trying.

In the following days, Heulwen began to learn the lines and adjust her expressions and actions in front of the mirror. All of her hand movements and steps exuded an aristocratic and arrogant aura. Jade wanted to come over to help Heulwen practice but got her refusal. Jade just couldn't help but pray for this audition.

On the fifth day, Heulwen woke up in bed. Her hair was neatly combed as she had just her hair fixed. Heulwen slowly sat up and stepped on the floor one by one. After showering, Heulwen took small steps to the dressing table. She gently took the turn to comb her hair and put it in a high bun. Heulwen looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes slowly opened and closed, making her eyelashes tremble.

Jade couldn't contain her anxiety, so she drove over to check on Heulwen's training. When she opened the door and walked in, the silence made her feel oppressive. Jade went inside and saw Heulwen sitting in front of the mirror. Heulwen's sitting posture was straight. Her legs were crossed to the side and her hands rested neatly on her thighs. Heulwen slightly tilted her head back with a cold expression. Jade shook her hands. She no longer recognized the person in front of her as Heulwen. Jade had the feeling she was facing an aristocratic lady in her room.

"Heulwen?" Jade stepped back nervously and patted Heulwen's shoulder. Heulwen looked up at Jade with cold eyes.

Suddenly, Heulwen snorted. Her eyes widened and she said dreamily, “barbecue?”

Jade saw this expression of Heulwen and breathed a sigh of relief. Heulwen grabbed the food bag from Jade's hand and quickly ran back to the table. She no longer had the aloof and dignified look she had before. Now, Heulwen only focused on putting meat in her stomach.

“What are you doing here?” Heulwen asked Jade while gnawing on the meat.

Jade sat down next to Heulwen and started eating, “I'm worried about your situation. But it looks like you’re still pretty good. How's the training progress?"

Heulwen pretended to dodge Jade's question. She still had not informed Jade that she had decided to cast another role in the manuscript. Jade didn't notice Heulwen's unusualness and went on to say, “This is a small supporting role but also has great potential. I believe with your strength, you can win it.”

Heulwen smiled wryly and decided to keep it a secret until the audition day. After seeing Jade off, Heulwen gave herself a day off. She turned on her computer and logged into the game. Thanks to the items from the black dragon fight, Heulwen was able to go to another map to fight higher level monsters. While she was hanging up the game, two other characters came running from afar.

On the other side, Charmaine had just finished processing the plan submitted by the technical department. He pressed the call to the secretary and handed it to the secretary, “Call the manager of the technical department to pick it up. Within two days, have to send me another manuscript.”

The secretary nodded and took the plan. He saw a lot of red lines on it and silently prayed for the manager of the technical department. While Charmaine was about to review the accounting department's reports for the past few months, the text messages kept popping up on his computer.

The two met in a small village. Leonard let the character run around Charmaine's character and started rambling. After that, the two teleported to another map.

“This hidden quest requires an extra hunter,” Leonard said and adjusted his headphones, “Let me go to the recruiting world.”

"No need. Found him," Charmaine immediately interrupted.

Leonard was surprised but still rode his dragon and ran after Charmaine. Charmaine jumped off the phoenix's back and said to the person in front of him, "We meet again, Bare hands kill monsters."

Heulwen had just left the computer to get a glass of milk. When she turned around, she saw two people standing next to her. Heulwen immediately sat down and typed.

"Coincidentally, Evil spirit"

Charmaine waited for a few seconds and saw 'Bare hands kill monsters' reply. He looked at the character holding the legendary bow just to shoot the pig in front, so he started a conversation.

"Fighting monsters again to kill time?"

“HAHAHA!”

“Want to join the party for a hidden quest,” Charmaine got to the point. After that, he invited the 'Bare hands to kill monsters' to the party and received an agreement.

Leonard sat to one side and gaped. This was the first time he had seen Charmaine interact with another player and even invite that person to the party.

Heulwen saw another character, ‘Indomitable with the last breath’. She swallowed softly. This was the top healing class character in the ranking. Heulwen saw the obvious difference in her fighting power and the two of them, so she hesitated, “I'm weak. Fear of dying soon.”

Leonard was curious about this new player and immediately said, “Don't worry. With me here, your blood is always full.”

Heulwen felt that she couldn't refuse, so she followed 'Evil spirit' and 'Indomitable with the last breath'. The three jumped into a large hole. This time, they must uproot the large carrot with the threat of the rabbit king. The Rabbit King could summon other small rabbit monsters. The denser the small monsters, the easier it was for the rabbit king to heal.

Charmaine was the main attacker. Heulwen would be responsible for slaying the little monster. Leonard would buff Charmaine and Heulwen's health and enhancement charms. When the battle began, Leonard understood why Charmaine invited this player. The 'Bare hands kill monsters' not only had very good skill manipulation but also worked well with Charmaine. The Rabbit King was killed after only half an hour. However, its resentment quickly entered a small rabbit. That little rabbit jumped up and intended to kill Heulwen.

This was a hidden challenge in the hidden mission. If one of the teammates died, the whole team would not receive the gift. Heulwen sensed danger so she used her skill to jump in another direction. Charmaine also quickly blocked in front of her and activated the defensive shield. However, the little rabbit was knocked down by a blow. Heulwen blinked at Leonard, who hit the rabbit on the head with a stick. The system also notified Charmaine's party to pass the stage and receive a great reward.

Leonard gave all the rewards to Charmaine and Heulwen and exited the game. He needed to make adjustments to make the rabbit king more realistic and smooth.

“I see you are rarely active,” Charmaine went to the clearing and killed monsters with Heulwen.

Heulwen was also speechless and started talking to the 'Evil spirit'. She expressed she had an interview coming up and had to prepare for it.

“The reward this time has a very rare lucky gem. You get it means the interview will be successful this time,” Charmaine typed in to boost morale. In his eyes, this character was a young man with great will.

“If it works, I have to thank you and Indomitable with the last breath,” Heulwen laughed at the opponent's encouragement.

“No need for politeness. If you want to say thank you, there will be a new event next Monday. Our party is short of hunters. Will you join?"

"Does not matter. I'll come."

Heulwen hung up the computer and stretched. She wished her fate was the same as in the game. If she also met a big boss like 'Evil spirit' in real life, she would be much stronger.

For the next two days, Heulwen continued to practice for the role and take care of her beauty. As the week ended, Heulwen and Jade went to Silas's audition for the role. The door opened and the crowd inside made them both feel suffocated.

Director Silas chose actors according to their ability, not based on close relationships. Therefore, veteran actors and young actors were present. Just a small role in a film directed by Silas, they could also be famous in one night. Investors who put money into his movies only had profit, and never lost. In the entertainment world, everyone had to respect him.

Heulwen sat down in a chair and felt the eyes of hatred looking at her. However, she didn't care and relaxed her body before it was her turn. Two hours passed and a lot of actors and actresses came back with disappointed expressions.

“Heulwen, it's your turn,” the secretary came out and announced and opened the door to greet Heulwen.

Heulwen nodded and walked straight inside. Jade clasped her hands together and couldn't hide her worry. However, Heulwen turned to look at Jade and smiled confidently. The door was also closed. Heulwen took a deep breath and walked out into the middle of the room and bowed ninety degrees.

“Hello everyone, my name is Heulwen. Today, I went to give an audition for the role of Esperanza Jocasta, the princess of the neighboring country."
