LUSTRE

This time around, I clearly knew what made me to stop and I stilled my movements, to hear it better.

I did.

It was crying. The silent one was filled with hiccups and sniffings and all. I looked around to gauge the direction where it was coming from and my mouth parted slightly when I realized it was that room that the weird girl disappeared into a couple of days ago.

That was her room. Was she the one crying or her roommate or... There was only one way to find out and I was already at the door. I knocked softly and without waiting for a response from the other side, I pushed the door open and stuck my head in.

The room was bare and devoid of any human being and it made me frown because I was completely sure that the sound was coming from there.

"Oh my God!" I yelled in panic at the suddenness of the pair of red and swollen eyes that I was looking into and I almost stumbled to the floor. I slammed my palm over my chest to calm my heart which was now beating erratically down
